Chapter 260: Run
Chapter 260: Run
When Rosy left, Arabella heaved a sigh.
Looking around her old apartment, memories of her and Adam flashed across her in every corner.
Now, she felt she was back at square one.
It seemed her journey was too long and yet she came back to the beginning.
She was alone again.
It might be a good thing for her for a while.
She badly needed this to be alone.
She wanted to think.
She wanted to heal herself.
Maybe... just maybe she could find herself again.
With all the things that happened to her...
With all the bad decisions she made in the past...
There was no one to blame.
It was on her.
Life could be cruel sometimes but it's all in you how you handle it.
It's in you how you look at the silver lining amidst all the darkness in life.
For Arabella, she encountered the worst but she never backed down.
She had lost her sanity but she continued living.
She could still consider herself lucky for all the unfortunate things that happened in her life.
Living alone was recharging herself.
It didn't mean she was bitter and want to escape her problems that she locked herself alone.
It was her way to think clearly.
At first, Eric didn't want to let her go but he helped her with Ivan.
Surely, he understood eventually what she wanted.
After she cleaned everything, she decided to go to the nearest grocery near her apartment.
Since she was living alone now, she had to cook her meal every day.
One grocery for the whole month then she could lock herself in the apartment.
She didn't want to go anywhere and she just want to spend time reading her books.
Then she remembered her plants in Eric's garden.
She heaved a sigh of frustration.
Her attachment to her plants made her sad.
Then she stood up and went outside following her plan.
When she got back, she was already embracing a purple orchid planted on a pot in one hand and a
box of her groceries in the other hand.
It was too heavy for her to carry but it didn’t matter.
She was determined to arrive using the stair to her unit but when she reached outside her door, she
was shocked.
Different boxes of groceries and drinking water were outside her door.
Arabella put her plant and her box on the ground.
That was the only time she felt the numbness of her hand after carrying those things on the ground.
Then she heaved a sigh as she had someone already in mind who sent her the supplies.
From her judgment, the boxes of food and necessities were good for 1 year.
‘Brother Eric.’ She muttered in the air.
There was no other person who would make this for her.
Though she didn’t want to accept the boxes somehow it was also not right for her to return them.
So, she got her phone and dialed Eric's number.
“Arabella,” Eric answered with a hoarse tone. Obviously, he was still in a mess of the sudden turn of
events.
“Brother, I know you did this. Please do not do this again in the future. I’m begging you.” Arabella talked
nicely to him. She just didn’t want Eric to make this kind of treatment towards her for the rest of his life.
“Please let me do this to you. I’m worried about you, Arabella.” Eric was pursuing her. He swore to do
all just to make her life comfortable. He didn’t even leave a note on the packages so she would not
refuse him but Arabella was quick to know that it was him who sent everything to her apartment.
“Brother, you don’t have to worry about me. I hope this would be the last time you are doing this.
Please let me be my own for now.” She uttered directly.
Eric was silent on the other line but she could still hear his breathing. He seemed to be very
problematic with her decision.
“Arabella,” Eric uttered seriously. He heaved a deep sigh before he continued. “What about us?”
Arabella was taken aback for a while because of his question. She was not expecting Eric would ask
her that.
Then she remembered the kiss they shared that night.
When she said to him that they have to take it slow. When she agreed to be Eric’s woman for real.
Everything about them happened in a flash.
She didn’t expect Eric to confess to her.
Then eventually, she decided to give him a chance.
She decided to give herself a chance to love again.
“Brother, I… I can’t continue. I’m sorry.” She felt pain in her heart not because their short romantic
relationship had ended but because she knew she would hurt Eric.
“Arabella, please don’t. I… can’t… I can’t continue living without you anymore.” Eric stuttered begging
her.
Then after, she heard his cry that he seemed to hold but it didn’t work.
"Brother, let's get a divorce." She had to do this or she was afraid that she could not do it anymore. She
didn't want to hurt Eric but she didn't want him to wait for her.
She didn't deserve his love as she was sure that the only love she could give him was the kind of love
that was for a family. She had proved it after they kissed that night. Since he already had Ivan, it was
just right that they had to comply with what they had agreed.
"No! Please no... Arabella, I'm sorry but I can't let you go. I will not divorce you." Eric's voice became
firmed and determined.
“Brother, you have Ivan and Rosy. They love you so much. As for me, I still have to find myself. Thank
you for everything. I will treasure everyone and everything you have done in my heart.” After her words,
she dropped the call.
She had to do it so Eric would get sober.
After their divorce, she would be free again.
At night, she cooked her dinner and ate early.
She wanted to relax her mind and body for tonight.
Hopefully, she could get a good sleep.
Since she started living with Eric, Lira kept on updating her about Damien’s condition.
The last time was they went to another country for some medical consultation.
They seemed to be working together well.
Arabella was happy about them.
Hopefully, they would be together forever in their life.
Thinking about them she could not help to smile.
When she was already in her bed, she planned to visit Damien’s house tomorrow.
Lira and Damien were abroad for quite too long so she decided to remove some dust from Damien’s
house.
Maybe if she could make herself busy, she would forget her sadness.
Locking herself was not so good idea.
Morning came, and her solo life had started again.
She went early to Damien’s house and clean everything.
When she finished cleaning, she decided to read her book there then she was snapped to her senses
that it was already night again.
She shook her head certainly in disbelief that she had lost the track of time.
She rode a bus going home and it was quite relaxing seeing the night in Capital Z again.
The lights were beaming anywhere.
At that time, few cars were on the street as the time was almost midnight.
Passengers were few that she felt she was riding an exclusive bus.
She breathed ample air of the city.
It made her relax until her eyes landed on a led screen of a building where Bill Sky’s face prompted.
He won another business international award.
Seeing his face made her want to throw a rock on the big screen.
For not to ruin her night, she quickly averted her gaze to the front view.
She swore not to look at any other screen or billboards along the street so she could not Bill Sky.
Seeing him made her very sick. Emotionally, spiritually and physically.
She was relieved when she reached her apartment. Because there was no elevator, she had to walk on
the stair to reach her unit. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
So, she dragged her tired body until she was already outside her door.
She got her key and then quickly opened her door.
She was aiming to have a good shower as she felt all the dust was on her but when she entered inside,
she immediately stopped.
She had an uninvited visitor.
Bill Sky was sitting on her couch with legs crossed and arms wide on the backrest.
Exactly like a powerful king who was waiting for his slave to service him.
“What… What are you doing here?” In her shock, her words came out after trying her best to say
something.
Bill’s dangerous eyes were meeting her. His eyes made her already tremble in fright as she
remembered what happened to her child.
“If you lose my child, I will kill you with my own hands.” Remembering her words at the restaurant,
should she run now?
Arabella’s heart was beating fast like a drum.
Her mind was in a deep mess.
She had to run or Bill would kill her tonight.
His presence in her unit was not just a visit.
He was here to kill her.
His expression told her so.
Her mind was in a panic and she was determined to get out there quick.
She had no time to waste.
When she was about to run, Bill was quick to close the door with a bang.
The thunder sound echoed the entire building.
He locked it and suddenly with one hand, he gripped her neck hard.
He pressed her against the wall.
She struggled but Bill was overly strong than her.
It was very hard to breathe.
She was running out of air.
If Bill would not release her, she would die.
“Bill…” She called him. “Let me go.” She ordered.
Her tears came out without no warning.
“Bill… I can’t breathe.” She said lacking air but Bill’s scorching eyes were determined to kill her.
The man would kill her for losing his child.
Did she deserve to die?
Would all be fine if she dies?
Would the cruel life be okay when she finally dies?
Arabella let out her last tears.
She didn’t want to struggle anymore.
She looked at Bill Sky for the last time.
The man who in this lifetime would be the reason for her death.
All details on his face, she saw all clearly.
He was the most handsome of all men on earth for her but he was also the most merciless of all men.
Then she closed her eyes preparing for her death.
She was already submitting herself to death.
She was ready to meet her mom and dad.
Her death would not be a loss to everyone.
No one would find her.
Farrah had already Gab. She was happy with them.
Damien had Lira.
Eric had Ivan and Rosy.
Adam had Bill Sky.
And she had nothing.
Maybe it was really her fate.
Now she was ready to submit herself to her fate.
“Mommy! Mommy! Don’t leave me!” Suddenly, Arabella heard Adam’s voice. She was very happy to
hear from Adam.
She opened her eyes panting.
She was chasing her breath like she was running out of air.
That was she realized that she was just dreaming.
A bad dream indeed.
She thought she was going to die.
She thought Bill Sky had killed her.
She thought she would be together with her parents.
It was so real but Adam’s voice in her dream made her realize that she was not ready to die.
She didn’t want to die. Adam needed her. She would not die without seeing her son again. Never.
Because of her bad dream, she felt very thirsty.
Her eyes landed on the wall clock in her room. It was already 1 am.
She got up and with her room slipper, she went out to get something to drink.
When she was already out, she stopped abruptly.
Goosebumps... Lots of goosebumps.
‘Am I still dreaming?’ Her mind panicked.
‘Why is he here?’
‘Wake up Arabella.’
‘Wake up!’
Bill Sky, the man of her dream.
He was sitting on her couch in the position exactly in her dream.
His eyes and expression were very the same.
He was breathing fire. His eyes were killers.
His entire presence carried catastrophe.
Arabella froze on her spot.
She clenched her fists to stable her balance.
Remembering what happened in her dream, Bill Sky would choke her to death.
Judging from the intensity of his anger, there was no doubt that he would kill her tonight.
'Run Arabella... Run!'
