Chapter 422
Chapter 422
Cordelia was fuming at home. She shot a message to Mr. Reese from the dean's office. [Mr. Reese,
there's this finance major, Harold, who's been harassing teachers and disturbing classes. Can you
please look into this matter?]
Mr. Reese replied, [Ms. Haselwood, we've already been informed about this issue. I'll handle it first
thing tomorrow morning!]
Just as she put her phone down, Cordelia received another message, this time from Petra.
[Cordelia, we've all heard about you and Harold. The whole school knows by now. You must have
some charm to have stirred up this young man's hormones so quickly. I've heard he's quite popular with
the ladies. Who would have thought you'd be the one to reel him in?]
[Enough about that. I've reported him!]
[Really, Cordelia, why would you report something like this? Where's your sense of fun?]
Cordelia didn't care about having fun; she had reported him, and Mr. Reese had promised to
investigate. There was something else Cordelia needed to do, but she was so upset with Harold that
she couldn't remember what it was.
...
Callum and Emerson returned from their meeting spot, disappointed.
Ronan had previously said that he wouldn't go on a date with Callum and Cordelia. So, Callum had
asked Emerson to accompany him instead.
Unfortunately, Cordelia didn't show up.
"You're back?" Ronan noticed their disheartened faces and asked. Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
"She didn't come," Callum whined, resting his head on Ronan's shoulder.
"I figured as much."
Ronan's gaze was icy cold. He had predicted that she would not come, but he had never expected her
to stand up the Callum without even a phone call.
Ronan clenched his jaw. He guessed that she neither cared about him nor wanted to see him. Her
absence from the Empower Operations meeting was good proof of that.
The next day, Ronan and Emerson were going to visit Empower Operations again to discuss several
issues regarding their contract. They were going to be partners for a long time, working on multiple
projects in Birchwood, so they needed to be careful about their contractual obligations.
There was no need for a meeting this time, so Cordelia didn't have to come up with an excuse to avoid
it.
Callum wouldn't be able to attend the contract signing, so Ronan had called Harold earlier.
...
The next morning, at the dean's office.
"Harold, what were you thinking? Ms. Haselwood just joined the school, and you've already caused a
scandal! You've embarrassed our entire institution! She has lodged a complaint against you. Your
otherwise promising future is now under threat. How are you going to find a job after this?" Mr. Reese
pounded his desk and spoke in a stern tone to Harold.
Harold remained silent, standing upright.
"Since this incident hasn't caused any severe consequences yet, I'll let you off with a verbal warning
this time. But there won't be a next time. Now go." Mr. Reese knew Harold was a bright student, a
basketball star, and an award-winning painter. He was a rare talent.
Who could stop a young man from falling in love? Harold had been at the university for four years
without a hint of scandal. But since Cordelia's arrival, it was as if a storm had hit.
"Say something!" Mr. Reese demanded.
"There won't be a next time," Harold said seriously.
"If she complains again, I'll have to record this as an official reprimand. And one more thing, remove
that painting from the display case immediately."
"Why should I remove such a beautiful painting?" Harold argued.
"Did the school authorize you to put it up?"
Harold couldn’t respond to that.
"Remove it immediately, or you'll face severe disciplinary action."
As Harold left the dean's office, he headed towards the cafeteria. Just as he was walking, he ran into
Cordelia again.
