The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 421

Chapter 421

In the afternoon, Cordelia made a trip to the library, and for once, she didn't cross paths with Harold,

which was a pleasant change.

After coming back from the library, she took a nap at home, worked on her dissertation for a bit, and

then headed to the dining hall for dinner.

As she was enjoying her burger, she couldn't help but wonder, should she call Callum back and tell him

she couldn't make it tonight? But Callum was using Ronan's mobile, so it would inevitably be Ronan

answering the call. At the thought of this, Cordelia hesitated.

After returning home from the dining hall, she continued working on her dissertation, and before she

knew it, it was already past seven.

As she was fiddling with her phone, considering whether she should call Callum back, she suddenly

heard a male voice calling "Cordelia" from the ground floor.

Living on the third floor, Cordelia could hear the voice clearly.

When she looked down from her window, the first thing she saw was a heart-shaped arrangement of

red candles, all lit up, with Harold standing in the middle, yelling at her.

Cordelia frowned, she was new to the school and did not want to stir up any kind of scandal. Moreover,

she believed that the more ostentatious the method of courtship was, the more it was for show. The

more romantic it seemed, the emptier it really was, and she despised such behavior.

The crowd below kept growing, and she worried about becoming the talk of the school's online forums

tomorrow. She hurried downstairs and confronted Harold, whispering, "What is this? Are you hoping to

embarrass me?"

"Nothing like that," Harold stared at her with his charming eyes. "I was just worried about you living

alone, but since you seem to be doing fine, I'll stop making a scene." With that, he took the basketball

in his hands and made a stylish move, extinguishing all the candles.

Feeling relieved, Cordelia turned to go back to her apartment, but she was abruptly pulled back by

Harold, his warm breath tickling her ear and his lips almost touching her cheek, making her blush.

He said, "Date me."

"Get lost!"

Cordelia hadn't been close to a man in years, let alone someone with strong masculine charm like

Ronan. Perhaps due to a natural female reaction, her sudden physical contact with Harold made her

tremble.

"I'm your teacher!" Cordelia warned.

"There's no rule against teachers dating students!"

"I'm going to report you to the administrative office tomorrow!"

"Do it!"

Harold kept his arms wrapped around Cordelia's waist. She struggled to break free, panting heavily.

She was furious - she had just arrived at the school, and Harold was already making her look bad.

Just then, Harold's phone rang. He originally didn't want to answer it, but after seeing the caller ID, he

picked up.

Cordelia took this opportunity to escape.

"Hello, Mr. Evans," Harold answered, still somewhat excited.

"Harold, are you free tomorrow?" The voice on the other end asked.

"If you need me, I'm free regardless."

"Can you babysit for me in the afternoon? I have a negotiation to attend, and it's not convenient to bring

a child."

"Sure, what time?"

"Two in the afternoon. I'll send you the location later."

"Okay, I'll be there."

After hanging up, Harold looked up at Cordelia's window one last time before leaving.

Cordelia had said that her kids were all grown up, but she looked so young. It had been almost ten

days since the term started, and not a single man had come to her apartment. Logically, a new home

and a new job would warrant a visit from a boyfriend, at least out of courtesy. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

But there was none!
