TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

” Axion ” The tears that Phoenix had been trying to hold back finally fell as she kissed his beast neck tenderly. Axion could feel his heart skip and his stomach spark. Even in his beast form, her touch still has an effect on him.

Phoenix pulled out of the hug and gently cupped his face, caressing it as she gazed into his purple, scary eyes but to her… it wasn’t scary. All she could see was the fear, anger, and disgust in them. He was sickened with himself and it made her heart pang.

” Are you scared, love? ” She asked as her thumb stroked his cheeks lovingly. Axion closed his eyes and nodded, letting out a low groan.

” I’m here now, you don’t have to be scared. I won’t let anything happen to you, I promise ” Phoenix assured and hugged him again.

With the help of Corbin, Axion was transported back home. But he was locked up in the prohibited room and was chained.

Glinda and Corbin didn’t have any other option than to do that because of the animal and beastly characteristics that were taking over his human nature and making him go wild. He was dangerous and couldn’t be let loose or else he might go about killing and tearing apart whoever he set his eyes on.

Phoenix only watched helplessly as her mate was chained and caged like an animal.

Two days went by really fast and Axion was only getting worst each passing day. There was a time he almost devoured Glinda when she came to check on him and released him from his chain.

If not for Phoenix who came and calmed him down, he would have ripped her head off. He couldn’t even speak like a normal human anymore but only growled, howled, roared, and snarled like an animal. It was then they all realized that this was serious.

Phoenix couldn’t stay away from Axion anymore. He needed her the most now and avoiding him, wasn’t it. At night when Glinda and Corbin were fast asleep, she took a tray of food and headed to the prohibited room.

She deliberately opened it and snuck in. The moment she did, an excruciating pain stabbed her heart on seeing the condition Axion was in.

His body was bruised and covered in cuts and blood probably from his struggle to break free. His head was down, his breath slow, dragged, and heavy. He was exhausted.

Phoenix placed the tray aside and knelt before him. He looked down immediately to avoid keeping eye contact with her. He was too ashamed to look her in the eye. Phoenix chuckled and held his chin, tilting his head back up to lock eye contact with her.

” Don’t be ashamed to look at me Axion. I’m your Phoenix, remember? ” Axion didn’t say anything but just stare into her loving eyes. Phoenix ran her hands on some of the bruises on his chest and pouted unhappily.

” Does it hurt? ” Seeing her cute pout, Axion’s heart fluttered. Despite being a beast, he experiences human feelings whenever he was with his Phoenix. She has that much effect on him.

Not wanting her to worry, he nodded a no to her question but Phoenix could easily dictate it was a lie. She smiled faintly and cupped his face.

” I’ll be right back ” She kissed his forehead and stood up. She left and came back later with a bowl of hot water and a towel. She kept it aside and took out the key to the chain Axion was tied to. She unlocked it and released him much to Axion’s shock.

He wanted to ask her what she was doing but he couldn’t speak. Phoenix walked back to him and knelt.

” Sit down, Axion,” She said and he complied, still surprised as to how confident she was that he won’t attack her and yes, Phoenix was ? sure he wouldn’t hurt her. He loves her deeply and being a beast won’t change that.

” I’d be gentle, ok? ” Phoenix assured and started cleaning him carefully and tenderly. Axion only stared at her with all the love he has for her in his eyes.

He was wondering what good he did that made fate bless him with a mate like her. He doesn’t deserve her but here she is giving him her all.

He didn’t even realize when he reached out his big, rough hand and cupped her face, stroking it gently with his thumb. Phoenix closed her eyes and moaned subtly. She has missed his touch and it was making her feel every emotion.

After cleaning and feeding him, Axion stretched his hands apart, thinking she was going to chain him back but what she did left him dumbstruck.

She took his big hands and placed them on her waist while hers rested on his shoulder. Flashing him a pout,

” Can I sleep in your arms tonight? ” She asked and Axion’s lips gaped. He couldn’t believe she wants to sleep in the arms of a beast.

Is that how she loves him?

” Please. I’ve missed you so much ” Phoenix mumbled and he growled in approval. He carried her and straddled her on his lap while his hand held her waist firmly. Phoenix beamed and giggled, burying her head on his hairy chest.

Axion caressed and played with her hair as memories of them in that same position flashed through his mind. He missed holding her like this, taking in her amazing scent.

Like a baby in its mother’s arms, Phoenix slept off.

” I love you, Axion ” She mumbled amidst sleep and that got Axion’s heart beating wildly. He frowned in sadness.

How he wishes he could speak and tell her how much he loves her, how much he wants her by his side every fucking second, how much he wants to kiss and touch her again.

But too bad, he can’t. He is a beast now and if he isn’t cured within five days, he will remain a beast forever. That was the second curse the King of all Dark Genie placed on him that night…
