Millie heard the sound of water running in the bathroom. After peeping inside, she slammed the door shut
in a deliberate move.
The sounds immediately ceased.
William asked from within, “Ms. Caldwell, is that you?”
She answered him and made her way into the room, where she examined every nook and cranny.
After confirming there weren’t any security cameras or other people around, Millie finally confronted him, ” Where’s the Aspher?”
“My assistant is still getting it delivered after the auction,” he answered hastily in Encerian.
Narrowing her eyes, she watched as William emerged from the bathroom. He extended his arms with a huge grin. “Darling, thanks for showing.”
Millie felt repulsed by his action, but she concealed her feelings and waited for the Aspher.
William poured them two glasses of wine. Then, he invited her, “How about we take a shower together?” Smiling, she tried to shift the topic of conversation, “Are you implying I’m unclean?”
He immediately shook his head. He would never think of the beautiful Millie in that way.
Walking up to her, he put his hand on her tiny waist and looked into her eyes with amusement. Still using Encerian, he inquired, “What’s your favorite position?”
Squinting, she replied gently, “What about you, Mr. Pearson?”
He twirled a strand of her hair and gave it a sniff. “Whatever you fancy.”
Right as he was about to press his body against hers, she placed a finger on his chest and pushed him
back.
She didn’t beat around the bush. “I want to see the Aspher.”
He’d be delusional to dream of touching her before showing her the herb.
“Don’t be so transactional. Where’s the fun in that?” he snapped.
She insisted, “I need to see the Aspher.”
Thinking she was a spoilsport, he asked, “Does everyone in Lumina drag their feet like you?”
She smiled and coaxed him with much sincerity, “I’m being responsible toward you and myself, Mr. Pearson. This is a transaction, isn’t it?”
She wanted the Aspher, while he wanted her body. They needed to make clear the rules.
He scoffed.
She persuades him gently, “I’ll pleasure you once you show me the Aspher.”
She continued lying with a straight face, “I’m thrilled to be in the company of a handsome guy like you.”
Flattery seemed to work like a charm on William, judging from how happy he looked.
Sighing, he shrugged. “Fine.”
He reached for his phone to call his assistant. Behind him, Millie quietly dusted the area on her body that he had touched.
William turned and cast a puzzled look at her. She returned a smile and pretended like she was about to take off her clothes.
Fixing his eyes on her, he casually asked the assistant, “Have you received the Aspher?”
After a short silence, he frowned. “What? Damn it?”
She shot forward. What happened?
She overheard the person on the line replying, “The Aspher has been won by another bidder.”
“It’s taken?” William scolded him, “You idiot! How could you lose the Aspher to someone else?”
The assistant struggled to explain the situation, as the bidder who won the Aspher didn’t register their
name.
Incensed, William growled, “You’re useless!” Then, he hung up.
Millie let out a sigh, wondering how the pot could call the kettle black.
William spun around to address Millie, but she quickly grabbed the hairpin from her hair and stabbed him in the stomach.
His eyes widened in disbelief.
Smiling, she remarked, “I heard it’s legal to possess firearms in Musbane. What I’m doing should be legal too, right?”
Blood started trickling out from the corner of William’s lips. Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
