“What’s wrong?” Ann demanded and her secretary frowned before looking at her.

“Elena was taken away from her house, the same person dropped her off… The person who dropped her off seemed familiar and they’ve been seeing his face a lot” Cassie replied.

“He might be her boyfriend or a suitor, I don’t give a fuck about him, when are they going to find Isabelle?” Ann replied.

“The man can’t be a suitor because when he took her, they tried to follow them but he took several routes and they lost him, I think Elena is working for Isabelle and she’s the only one who can lead us to her” Cassie replied and Ann smirked, raising her wine glass.

“If that’s it, increase the number of people watching her, Elena.. I’ll give you one of the most painful deaths” Ann muttered, grinning viciously.

“What about Mario, ever since his personal guard died, he has been very secretive and protective, our spy can’t get information again” Cassie let out.

“We don’t need any information again, all we need is to kill him..”

“Tongues would start wagging, the deaths would be too much, first it was Andrea, Mario and a few other ministers. The rate at which we’ve been killing ministers is too much” Cassie hinted.NôvelDrama.Org content.

“I don’t care, for power, I’ll do whatever it takes. There are still more people who are going to die…” Ann trailed and Roberto walked inside, ranting.

“What’s wrong?”

“I just spoke to Isabelle, she said she’s aware of all my secrets and would leak it to the public” He dropped and Ann gasped.

“What! She can’t do that! We can’t let it happen.. what do we do?” Ann demanded.

“What I’m baffled about is how she knows our secrets, Isabelle, you’re biting much more than you can chew” Roberto flared.

“How do we get her out of our way, let’s kill her” Ann advised.

“Why are you heartless! Can you kill your own child?” Roberto raved and Ann frowned.

“If my child is foolish enough to threaten to leak my secrets then that child should be ready to face death, we’ve come a long way, we can’t let this stop us! Do you know the number of lives lost?”

“The money and energy we’ve put in? Your wife died in the way, Andrea, the ministers, the guards, the workers and so many people who have lost their lives so you can be here but you wanna throw all that away just because of your foolish daughter! I’ve never seen a child who would love to work with enemies rather than her own father”

“I’ve been busy as hell trying to win more followers and covering up your scandals but your daughter is hell bent on leaking everything to the public, the best option available now is to silence her forever and that’s either by killing her or by capturing her” Ann replied sternly and Roberto shook his head.

“No! I can’t kill her, she’s the only family I have left..”

“Family? Where was your family when I was busy comforting you and doing dirty jobs just to make sure you won the last election? Where was your family when I murdered two men in cold blood just for your sake! Where were they when I hid my kids from the world for 12 years!” Ann ranted and Roberto sighed deeply, rubbing his forehead as he sat down.

“Ann… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you” He pleaded.

“We will have this conversation later, I have to go see my FAMILY” She replied and walked out.

“Damn! Isabelle, what are you doing! You would endanger your life!” He yelled, dialing her number and she picked after the second ring.

“Hello, Mr president!” She teased.

“Stop all these Isabelle, you’re playing with death… you’re endangering your life, I do not want to lose you” He pleaded and she giggled.

“You lost me the day mom died because of you, why do you care about me, you have other kids remember? I would stop at nothing, I’ll make sure I leak every single secret of your administration, I feel ashamed to be called your daughter, you’re a big disgrace” She replied.

“Politics is a very dirty game, you’ve never been in the mud don’t try to play it, Isabelle listen to me, I want you to stop what you’re doing and come back home, we could settle everything” Roberto pleaded and she burst into laughter.

“Home? You mean the big empty house that lacks warmth? The house where your First Lady and kids are? You’re lucky I’m not ready to disclose your affair to everybody, Do not call me again, just watch me do my thing while you do yours” She replied, ready to hang up.

“Isabelle! You’re playing with your life! Stop if you still want to live!” He warned.

“I’d rather die and make the truth known than leave in silence and injustice” She replied and hung up.

“What are all these? Why can’t you listen to me for once?” Roberto thought, thinking deeply.

Mario’s mansion

“Isabelle is fighting against her father, she’s bent on releasing his secrets” The new guard, Collin let out and Mario paced around, thinking.

“If she starts releasing those secrets, it would also involve me and it would ruin a lot of things for me, especially this new party I just decamped to, keep searching for her. When you find her, kill her immediately, do not hesitate” He instructed and Collin nodded.

“What about Ann, her men have increased, I’ve gotten things under wraps and no secret can get to her ears, she’s busy now, trying to cover up the scandals we’ve created”

“Kill two ministers from the opposing party, I need a video of another minister, pleading for his life and vowing to decamp to their party if they spare his life, make the video go viral. I’ll see what Ann does this time” Mario replied, smirking.

“Sir, Ann has been having an affair with the president and the two kids she presented the previous time, they belong to the president, how do we spread this news?”

“I want an interview with the press in the next 15 minutes, I’ll spread the good news the best way” Mario grinned.

20 minutes later

Mario stood in front of the big hall, looking down at all the reporters with satisfaction, he cleared his throat.

“Lots of you know that things haven’t been the same ever since my dearest son Andrea died. He was one of the nation’s most priceless jewels…” He sighed deeply, stared at their faces before continuing.

“It was unfortunate that he died early and another person’s death. Ever since then, My once dearest friend Roberto has turned his back against me, he has been doing everything it takes within his power to bring me down, I think it’s because of the influence of his secretary Ann, I’m here to announce that I would not be a part of the beef, no matter what comes my way, I’ll never betray Roberto..”

“I can see all that has been going on recently, from his daughter running away from the house because she found out about his affair with his secretary Ann, the two kids he has with Ann leaving under the same roof with him and avoiding him..” Mario paused, a broad smile on his face as he watched the reporters jot seriously and recorded.

“I want him to know that no matter what the challenge that has been going on, I’m always here for him, I’ll never leave a friend at the time of his need. His daughter has left the house and is refusing to return, she’s even threatening to leak all his dirty works”

“That has come as a very big shock to me and I’m also trying to contact Isabelle, I do not know about his secrets but she needs to forgive her father, cheating on her mother for almost 20 years is huge but she has to let go, I think if she let go it’s also best for her because rumor has come to my ears that her father’s business associate are considering silencing her if she tries to leak his secrets”

“Things have been rough for you Roberto but do not hesitate to come to me if you need my help, if it’s in terms of money because your administration is about to be over and the debt that has been accumulated is enough to raise sagging tongues, if you need support with your campaign, I’m more than ready to help move into the different streets with billboards, asking them to vote for you because you’ve been one hell of a president”

I want to commend Isabelle for her fundraising project, it’s hard for others to do it because of the embarrassment and mockery they would face but brave Isabelle doesn’t care about all that, what matters is raising money to house those whom her father had made homeless, she has pity, she would have made such a fine wife for Andrea..” Mario paused, wiping tears from his eyes and the crowd were moved.

Collin stepped close to him, whispered some words into his ears and stepped back.

“Words have just reached me that this live interview is being blocked on several channels and Ann is closing up television stations. Ann, I don’t understand why you’re trying to create a rift between my friend and I but one thing I’m very sure of is that our friendship would surely conquer all”

“Roberto has been the very best from day one and I’m sure he would continue to be the very best, the citizens of this country are very lucky to have him as their president, they should vote for him again and watch him transform this country”

“He has plans of taking this country to the next level, the opposition he’s facing is too much but I’m sure he will overcome that. The ministers who are opposing him are dying mysteriously and that’s a sad news but for Ann, I’m sure it’s great news because they wouldn’t have much opposition again”

“People of this nation, I want us to come together, work hand in hand to take this country to the next level, the renovation of the suburb has started though Isabelle said it’ll be completed within 3-6 months but with all the opposition and sandals they face everyday, the way Ann is busy trying to cover everything up and Roberto being silent”

“I doubt if it’ll be completed within a year, once again my arms would always be open for you Roberto, you can come to your friend any time and I’ll always be here to help. Thank you so much” Mario concluded and stepped down, receiving a large ovation and lots of questions from reporters who trailed behind him, trying to push past his guards.

He smiled as he walked out, knowing his plan was working out well.
