“Who was it?” Eloise asked immediately when Arion disconnected the call, he had this look of worry on his face, one can tell that something was definitely wrong.

“My brother..” came his curt reply, as he raked his hands through his hair, Sebastian had just informed him that Adia’s health had drastically deteriorated, and now she has to be fixed on drip, where she will be given a daily dose of blood, he hasn’t even gone far I’m finding a witch, he had come all the way here to find one Mrs Reyner, but he only came here to discover that she was no longer living here.

“Oh..” she mouthed, standing a few meters away from him, he got very angry when he realized that Mrs Reyner no longer lived here, well she had no idea also that she had moved.

“What were you going to ask her for? Why were you meeting her?” Eloise questioned curiously, she had known Mrs Reyner for a very long time now, she was like a mother figure to both her and her sister, but she seriously had no idea that she had moved away from here.

“It’s rumored that she’s very good with herbs, and in a few occasions, she was suspected to be using magic..” he replied, walking over to his car, as he pulled out his bag, he’s not going to leave here, and accept defeat just like that, as long as there’s been no record of Mrs Reyner dying, he must find her.

“What are you going to do now?”

“Break into the house..” he replied, bringing out a torch from his bag, as he threw it to Eloise, who caught it on time.

“You’re coming In with me..” he informed putting the bag back in the car, before heading for Mrs Reyner’s apartment, he threw his fist right at the door lock, and the lock broke, making Eloise marvel at his strength.

They slowly walked into the dark house, he looked around from the house and from the look of things it hasn’t been long since a person lived here, it was neat and well arranged, perhaps did Reyner hear about him and decided to abscond.

“Just look around, and check for anything useful..” he said to Eloise who nodded her head slowly, she switched on the torch she was holding, as she looked around the house, she knows this place quite well, in fact she knows the map of this house, she has been here a couple of times before, Mrs Reyner is quite close with her family.

“Eloise!!!” Her name thundered in her ears, as she quickly ran to the direction, csge heard her name from, it seems as if Arion has found something, and from the way he called her, he sounded angry, she hopes it not something that can implicate her, she cannot afford to lose his trust.

“Yes, did you find anything?” She asked out of breath, as she had run all the way here.

“What the hell the this?” He asked angrily showing her a picture frame as Eloise suddenly turned cold, it was a picture of her, her sisters and Mrs Reyner, how dues she start explaining herself.

“I can explain..” she began in a low tone, she had no idea Mrs Reyner still had this photo with her.

“Explain what!!!?” He howerled as Eloise flinched in fear, how does she tell him that she knows nothing about Mrs Reyner whereabouts, she’ll be his prime suspect now.

“Are you not the one in this photo, with Mrs Reyner?” He questioned, with a hint of disbelief In his eyes, did he by any chance trust the wrong person.

“Yes I am..” she admitted, she stumbled backwards in fear that he might attack her.

“So you knew Reyner all along..”

“Yes, but I had no idea she was the Reyner you were talking about..” she gulped loudly, why did she have to lie now.

“Seriously..” he frowned at her, fire blazing in his eyes, he must have caught the lie.

“Okay, I knew she was Mrs Reyner, but I swear, I know nothing about her whereabouts, or that she has moved from this place, that last time I came here was three months ago, please believe me.” she uttered in fear, the way he was staring at her now could actually bore holes on her skin, if eyes could kill, she would probably be dead by now.

“I should believe you..” he repeated in sarcasm.

“Yes I swear, the other people in the picture are my sisters, Elise and Esmeralda..”

“Was..” he drew out staring intensely at her.

“Yes, was, I’ve not seen her for the past three months, trust me, and there’s no way I can know what happened to her when I ran away from home..”

“My sister Elise is married with a child, but her children fell critically ill, so he was brought to Mrs Reyner for treatment, that’s how we became close like family friends, I promise..” she lied, because she can say the truth, or tell him what is actually going on, she just have to say a lie and prays he buys it.

“Then why didn’t you tell me this from the start?”

“Because I didn’t feel the need to, and I felt that you wouldn’t believe me, trust me I was never aware of Mrs Reyner’s disappearance, I wasn’t that close to her, it was just my sisters Elise and Esmeralda..” she explained,

“Where are your sisters now?” He questioned, something felt familiar about those sisters of hers, but couldn’t place his hands on it, and he also had this feeling that she was lying to him and something was not right.

“My sister Elise is married with a kid, while Esmeralda is a spinster, she’s not married, I live with Esmeralda, but at times I also live with Elise, who lives with her family..” she explained,

“Why did you run away from home?”

“Because I don’t want the kind of life they want for me, I feel trapped and can’t make my own decisions..” she confessed, if there was one flaw about her sisters, it was that they thought they owned her life.

“Look little girl..” he began, taking a step towards her.

“If there’s one thing I hate the most, it’s lies and deceit, and I will never hesitate to behead you if I ever find out that you’ve been lying to me..” he threatened as Eloise gulped down nervously.

“Ok sir, I promise I’m not lying..”

“Keep searching till you find something..” he looked away from her, as he continued his search.

Eloise found herself breathing in relief, thank God he believes her, she doesn’t want to lie to him, but she can’t help it, since certain things are meant to stay hidden.
