"Really, Sasha, this cannot be happening. Why couldn't it be Eric? He likes me. An Alpha will just reject us and he may have killed my father." I groaned at her as she growled back at me.

"I can smell your wolf." Alpha Vincent growled as he put me down in his office. He backed me against the wall and smelled the area I was to be marked. My insides were melting. "I can smell your needs too." He started to move his hand up and down my sides, never leaving his face from my neck. His breath was warm and enticing and I wanted to turn and kiss him.

No, I couldn't, this can't last. I am an Omega or a rogue or I guess royalty?? I don't even know. I needed to cool down. This is the son of the man that killed my father. I pushed him away and went to sit on a chair. He was quick and pulled me back up into a kiss. "No," I said and slapped him.

He threw me down into the chair. "You are saying no to me? We are mates. I know you feel it too. I can smell it on you."

"Alpha Vincent I presume." I huffed.

"Yes, I have met you before at Dark Moon. How are you, my mate? I didn't feel the pull at that time."

"So, it is true you have a child with another." He growled, but this time there was a touch of pain in it. He rung his hand through his shoulder-length jet black hair. I wish I could put my fingers through his hair. No I can't think like that. He is the Alpha.

As he paced to his chair behind his desk, I took a breath and spoke. "It is true I have a child...but not with my mate." This earned me a sickening look from him. "I kept going. I turned 18 the night the rogues attacked. My mate had found me, rejected me and I accepted. His Alpha wanted me and Katie to come back but I refused so we ran. That is when your team found me, and the rogues attacked."

"So, you mean to tell me you had a CHILD with another MAN?" He roared. He came over and smacked me across the face. Then he kissed me again before pulling away and back handing my other cheek. "You disgust me. You cheated on your future mate, had a child and he rejected you. You are nothing but a w***e. I will have you now."

With that, he ripped open my shirt, slamming his lips into mine with his hands pulling at my chest through my bra. My body and Sasha were going nuts. My body was betraying me and tingling at every touch. Even my lips felt like they were on fire. His scent was overpowering. Sasha was not on my side and was whimpering at the fact our mate was not the knight she thought he was. He moved to pull down my pants and I snapped out of it and pushed him away. Lighting my hands with magic, which calmed him, but Sasha disappeared.

"I hate you. How could the moon goddess do this to me?" he growled.

"To you!" I turned back to him glaring. "I was given the second chance mate only to have him beat me as well!" He looked at me with a pained look of regret and took a step towards me, but I wasn't done. "Not to mention it is you the son of the man who killed my father. Why would the moon goddess do this to her own daughter? I am used to being beaten and treated like dirt, but I thought now, with her daughter as my wolf and my magic, I may have stood a chance at a happy life. She promised me another mate and I was right not to trust this. Now I know that hope and happiness could not be farther from the truth."

I yelled and stood turning towards the door. He grabbed my wrist in an attempt to stop me. I yanked it out, taking two more steps towards the door. He quickened his pace and got in front of me. I was screaming for Sasha to come back to me to explain but she was gone. I need to stop using magic till she fully recovers.

"Let me pass. I will not be your mate and I will not let you touch me again." I stared at him. I am not backing down now. He switched the lock. I closed my eyes and thought of the only person that I trusted, Eric. Taking deep breaths, I thought help me. I opened my eyes to Vincent staring at me.

"You are not leaving here until I have had my fill of you, and we had a conversation about the lies you just said about my father. My father..." Before he could finish, there was a pounding at the door.

Eric yelled, "let me in Vincent. Filli just linked me. Filli, are you ok? Vincent, if you harm her you will regret it. Trust me."

Vincent looked at me. "You w***e. You have only been awake a day and already screwing around with members of my pack." He growled and lunged at me. I quickly moved out of his way and went for the door. I unlatched it and opened it, letting Eric stand between

us.

Vincent went for Eric, picking him up by the neck against the wall. "How dare you touch my mate!" He yelled.

I glared at Vincent. "First of all, he hasn't touched me the way you think, so put him down. Second, I am no w***e. I didn't have Katie with anyone. Everyone assumes that because she calls me mom and I let them, so they don't take her from me. Her parents died to save me. I owe her a mom and I love her like mine." Vincent let go of Eric and shrunk down in shock and shame.

Eric looked at me with shock. I kept on, "really boys, do the math. If I was 18 and Katie is 7, I would have had her at 11. Even at Dark Moon that would have broken a few pack laws." Vincent looked at me with hope and maybe love. No, it couldn't be love. You do not speak to or hit those you love.

Vincent reached out and started to say "I'm sorry, I just assumed..."

I stopped him with my hand. "I don't want to hear it. I am here to ask to be a part of your pack because it is the best thing for Katie. But let us get one thing straight Vincent, I cannot forgive you for what you said and did right now. I will not give myself to a man that degrades and hits me. If I could, I would reject you, but until I figure out how to save my wolf, I cannot reject nor accept your rejection." I really didn't know I had that in me, but I was proud of myself for standing up and being strong. Both men just stood there staring at me.

Finally, Eric chimed in with a "So what the hell happened?"
