Eve’s POV

I woke up early the next day and almost flinched out of the bed because we had to go to work that morning.

“We can take a break” Liam said behind me, I turned to look at him.. “Good morning love/ good morning..” We said at the same time.

He came closer to me and kissed my forehead;

“How was your night?” I asked, looking up to his face.

“It was fine” He said smiling widely. I couldn’t detect that gloomy look; so I accepted that he had a nice sleep. I smiled back at him.

“Did you say we should take a break from work?” I asked him and he nodded in affirmation.

“We won’t go to the office yet today is gonna be a very long day” He said.

“What’s your move?” I asked him.

“Meeting Mrs Pitts of course” He responded.

“Yeah, I know… I mean how? There’s gotta be a plan or something, how are you gonna confront her?”

“I’m just gonna confront her~directly but she won’t see it coming; trust me. Reverse won’t be the case okay?” He said, placing his hand on my shoulder.

Liam’s POV

I called Mrs Pitts and told her I wanted to meet her, not at my office neither at hers. She was excited, she thought I was bringing some good news because she kept asking me of her daughter. Janet..

I also informed Janet that I was going to see her mother and she insisted that she must come along with me. She claims I’ld definitely need her help and that it’s high time her mother knows that she was never on her side.

Eve also wanted to tag along; it’s very possible she may not be able to control herself when she comes face to face with the woman who put her distress just because of her hatred. I didn’t let her come along, I assured her that the whole issue would be resolved in the best way even when I wasn’t sure of how.

Since I didn’t want us to meet the offices or at any public places, Mrs Pitts suggested that we should meet at her new private home which sent the address. Janet caught up with me on the road and led the way.

“Have you guys been seeing eachother secretly?” Mrs Pitts uttered when she sighted both of us. We didn’t respond to that question, so she asked another.. “Janet, since when have you been out of school?” She asked.

“Will you let us in at least?” Janet said.

Mrs Pitts permitted as she glared at us suspiciously.

“Oh both of you are here to inform me that you are now a thing?” She guessed again, looking at her daughter’s face.

“Mom! I told him everything!” Janet said.

“Everything?! What do you mean .. by everything?” She asked and sprang up on her feet immediately.

“You have brought upon my father, nothing but calamities. We were supposed to be business partners only” I went straight to the point.

Mrs Pitts folded her hand and smirked.

“Indeed you told him everything” She said to her daughter, who shot her a stern look.

“You know nothing Liam, step back or you get wedded my daughter and let the suitation die down quickily” Mrs Pitts said.

“Why are you doing this?” I raised my voice.

“Do I really need to explain? Opportunity knocks but once. This is a great opportunity to pertain in your father extravagant Wealth..”

“Through blackmailing?” I yelled.

“Don’t call it a blackmail. Do you even know what your father did? He..”

“He knows. Mom, not only are you doing this to get both of us together, and neither is it only because of his wealth. You misled my best friend, Eve and she knows everything too”

“Have you been seeing Eve?” She exclaimed.

“We are definitely gonna get back at you on her behalf!”

“Eve is no longer together with my father!” Liam said.

Mrs Pitts laughed wickedly and stood at an akimbo angle; “I think I get why you both are here now? To convince me or what?”

“Why does it sound like we are taking it with levity?” I voiced as my facial expression changed to fierce one and I noticed she trembled a little and moved back.

“You intentional sold an innocent girl to an s*x maniac! Now, My father is secretly depressed because you are threatening him again to show the whole world one stupid video?”

“Good.. you admitted that your father is a maniac. Okay, soo.. so are you trying to say we should keep rape a secret?” Mrs Pitts said back.

“My father is not a pedophile … He..” I paused; “Is that why you have to do this to him?”

“Who’s gonna get punished, Me for blackmailing him or him for almost molesting kids? You don’t even have proofs that I sent him to Eve anyways but then, I have videos of his atrocities” She fired back.

“I am enough proof” Janet said.

“Janet, stay out of it. You have betrayed me.”

“Fine! You know everything Liam but what is gonna change now? Nothing at all and infact, the videos would flood the internet this very day. Only one thing can stop, you two should get married…” She repeated and obviously, she badly wanna gulp all our wealth.

I looked at her with disgust because I didn’t know what to do. I also didn’t want the videos all over the internet because looks like, I really have no option. And once it floods the internet, it’ld tarnish my family image, we just got to get a better lawyer to stand by us, but my father might still get punished … the company names gets tarnished and it would take so many months-years to get the shit die down and start afresh again. I really don’t want any of this to happen because the reputable position won’t be like before.

Janet suddenly cut in sharply.

“She has no videos!” She said.

“Janet! Shut up!”Her mother shouted.

“What… the videos.. what do you mean?” I asked; confused.

Janet scorned at her mom and faced me;

“Oh she had them, it’s true she made a video of your father but she lost the videos sometimes ago. I’m sorry for just letting you know about it too. I was more concerned about fixing my friendship with Eve and breaking off the marriage.. plus I also thought it’s better I spill the beans right in front of her. She lost all the videos and no backups. Your father doesn’t know about it, so he allowed himself to continue being used by mom”

“Janet!!!” Mrs Pitt screamed again but Janet won’t stop talking.

“There’s no video Liam; no proof at all… go attend to your father, there’s no reason to panic” Janet said again.
