Liam’s POV

“I just left Mrs Pitt’s place, There’s no video” I told Mark over the phone as I drove away from Mrs Pitts place, I left Janet there but I threatened Mrs Pitts that I would definitely come back for her. I’m not sure though, I just need to take care of my family first.

“No evidence?” Mark exclaimed.

“None” I answered again.

“I think we should .. uhm just let it go” Mark suggested exactly what was on my mind.

“I’m so not trying to pertain or support what he has done but there’s no proof, we sure know what it will result into if he goes to the police and turns himself in” I spoke, with one hand guiding my phone on my ear and the other turning the steering.

“I invited the family doctor” Mark said.

“Why? Is anyone Ill?”

“Not at all but you know our family doctor is closer to us, I thought we could confine in him; I also know what’s Wong with father is beyond ordinary severe sexual urges” He briefly explained.

“Are you really gonna cut..?” I heard him giggle a little.

“No, not at all.” He responded; “It’s just something that kill his urge for..”

“Waoh! But I thought you wanted him to get a wife? Like a real wife this time?”

“The doctor said it’s not permanent.. just for a while and if it’s necessary.. and Dad isn’t even aware that I did this to him. He’ll just wake up one day and be disgusted with what once he obsessed with” Mark said.

“It doesn’t sounds too bad, well” I said.

“So that’s more reasons why there’s no need for him to turn himself in, for his literally a new leaf and it’s never ever gonna happen again” Mark said.

“Hmmmn” I sighed.

“Even when Dad never took proper care of us and we never enjoyed his fatherly presence since when we were little, I still love him”

“Me too”

“I was afraid that something even worst can happen to him; us.., Please don’t contact any lawyer okay?” Mark said.

“Okay. Sure. I feel so relieved.. Uhm, should I come over; to see Dad…”

“Dad is fast asleep; he has been sobbing even before what I did; so no, not yet Liam.. how is Eve?” He asked.

“Eve is… She’s good” I said. “Did father find out about us?”

“Not yet; I have not told him anything yet; you haven’t also?

“We only made him sign the papers”

“And she moved on to live with you”

“Yeah” He didn’t say anything else, so I just added;..”Talk to you later Mark”

As soon as Eve opened the door to let me in, I grabbed her for a very tight hug.

“Eve, you are right.. we really don’t need to tell or extend the whole issue..” I resumed.

“But you also don’t want them to find out by themselves”

“No one will find out” told her, disengaged from her and looked at her. “She lost all evidences” I added.

“Mrs Pitts ? So it was just a mere threat?”

I nodded in agreement.

“Did.. did she apologise or was she remorseful somehow?” She asked.. and I shook my head.

“Not yet. I haven’t figured out a suitable punishment that would make her fall on her kneels or a Punishment she’ll never ever forget for all what she has caused us especially you” I said but shook my head slowly in disagreement.

“No” She mumbled.

“No?”

“She has a daughter, Janet. Janet is a very good friend of mine” She said and I sighed.

“Okay.. I.. I don’t know what’s gonna happen next but Okay” I said as I threw myself on the couch. I was so tired of everything but yet, I was emotionally relieved.

“Liam.. ” she called my name coldly.. and it drew my attention to look at her closely. She’s acting up a little strange since I got back.

“What is it?” It’s pretty much obvious that she’s bothered..

I interrupted her before she could even speak;

“Look Eve” I stood up and walk over to where I left her. “This is more than trying to assuring ourselves that everything would be fine. See everything is finally fine now, you are out of his house, no one jailing anyone, the doctor hat stupid hormonal sexual stimulus in his body. It’s fine, now.. it’s just you and I. We should be planning on moving forward, taking things to the next level” I stood up, move closer to her and held her hand. “You and I.. you were the one comforting me last night and this morning, what’s happening now?” She shook her head slowly.

“Celebration? Of course. Cheers to your freedom and cheers to quick solution, cheers to freedom from all complications” I said, smiling. She forced a smile and said.. “A minute” Then she left and return with a fruit wine and two glass cups.

We sat opposite eachother as she poured some wine for me and for herself.

“Cheers?” I announced when she didn’t raise her cup up..

“Oh Yeah, cheers” we gently hit the cups but it was very obvious, she did that.. and sipped a little from the cup reluctantly.

“Now tell me Eve, what’s wrong with you?” I drop my cup and ask her.

“No-nothing”

“No, something is bothering you Eve and I can’t seemed to figure it out. I’m even doubting if it’s as a result of the whole situationship” I said.

She dropped her glass cup, bit her lips and nervously fondled with a finger.

We were sitting opposite eachother, I stood up and sat beside her then pulled her closer to me.

“Come sweetie, I’ve missed us” Isaid

“Liam..” She muttered and heaved heavily… then she resumed;

“My father has fully recovered, you gave me a good job.. and I also have Janet by my side..”

“Yes, exactly. Things are falling into their right places”

“But Liam I don’t think we.. can continue.. our.. our relationship” I said, fighting back my tears.

“What?”

“I… I think it’s best for both of us..”

“I.. I don’t get” I shook my head.

“I have been through thick and tough, I.. I drugged your father, we hid our relationship, we met and fell in love in the most complicated way. I think I should start all over again, a new life elsewhere and you too” Eve said.

I couldn’t believe my ears.

I’ve done alot, we have passed through alot to come this far. And now she’s breaking up with me?
