Liam’s POV

After she picked up, a few things she might need, she bid Helen and Robert ‘Bye’.. yet she assured them that she’ll come visiting. I have never been comfortable with her living under my father’s roof.

I drove to my place almost absentmindedly.. fresh tears clouded in my tears. Indeed blood is thicker than water. I didn’t expect a single tear to drop from my eyes.

“I need to rest, you too; do” I said, to her when we arrived at my place.

We just completed one phase out of three phases. The three phases are divorce/seperation phase, the threat/those videos and finally to tell him that I’m having an affair with Eve, and I possibly want to spend the rest of my life with her.

” I’ld be fine” I told her then retired to my bedroom.

Eve’s POV

After he left, I threw myself tiredly on the chair.. but I was breathing too fast, so I had to just pause and i took a very deep breathe in then let them all out.

Yes! It has started.. I’m legally and fairly divorced finally… at least, I’m no longer Mr Maya’s hostage.

I feel pitiful for Liam and Mark; and I had no idea Mark left home because he could watch his father admit to the allegation~his woeful atrocity . And since I have left Mr Maya; sooner or later; everyone would know about it.. according to Mrs Pitts’s threat.

I didn’t want to feel like I was the one who brought problem upon this family; no, no I didn’t do anything wrong at all. Mr Maya was only being used and he fell into the deep trap.. I didn’t even know anything about it from the onset.

~ “Hello Janet” I called her.

~ “Eve, I was just about to call you too” She said.

~ “Uhm..”

~ “So has it been resolved?” She asked me.

~ “I’m out of his house now, Liam made him sign the papers” I told her.

~ “Oh! Finally. I’m so happy for you Eve, You can start all over now” She said.

~”I know right” I responded coldly.

~ “What action are we taking next?” She asked me.

I understand that she was referring to Mr Maya’s case.

~”My mom and the threat issue” She added.

~ “I don’t know yet Janet” I replied..; “Your mom is included too” I added.

~ “I.. I know” She said.

~ “Talk to you later Janet, I just thought you should know that I’m out of his house” I said.

~”I can feel you are troubled Eve, it’s alright and gradually, everything would be permanently alright okay?” She said..

~”Yeah” I muttered and hung up the call.

I stood up then peeped through Liam’s room door, he didn’t see me though but I caught him in a very deep thought.., good he wasn’t sobbing. Oops!

I am familiar with his kitchen, so I went in there and cooked for him.

I set the table then went to his room..

“Liam” I called his name. He looked up to me.. and smiled. I know the smile was a false one, he just didn’t want me to think he is downcast which was already very obvious.

“I made dinner for us, you’ll get better after you’ve eaten” I told him.

“Oh Eve, I’m fine seriously, it wasn’t just easy for me to hold the pain but I’m good now” He said but I stared at those red eyes of his.

“Did you say you prepared dinner?” He asked and I nodded.. “Let’s go eat” He said.

He ate sluggishly and I noticed it because I was watching him all through.. he was only picking his food.

“Uhm Liam, I’m sure your Dad is ready to change; I don’t think you have to extend the whole issue and it might get to the whole world’s hearing” I said.

He looked at me, gave that sheepish smile again then he drank some water.

“I.. I suggest it’s better that way instead of people finding out theirselves and sharing the rumors. Besides, if he doesn’t turn himself in for what he has done, Mrs Janet will and it might even be worst then” He said. “I know he is feeling sorry; not only for what he did to you and his insane maniac stimulus but for everything. He simpled allowed a lackadaisical person like him to be used by her” He said.

I nodded.

“I’m suggesting a meeting with Mrs Pitts” Liam said.

“Why?” I uttered.

“I’ll make her know that I’m aware of everything, it might even subside her threat, I’ld let her know you have left him… I doubt it if she would even do her worst like she claimed” Liam said.

“Hmmmn”

“And if it extends, I’ll get lawyers ready and with solid explanation so that could be our side. Mrs Pitts is to be punished for blackmailing my father…. and if she still insists on revealing the videos to whole world” Liam said.

“Okay. I really don’t want anyone to get hurt though”

“You were hurt Eve or almost molested, so why not?” Liam said. He’s right anyways, I didn’t say anything.

We continue to eat slowly and in silence..

“I’m Okay” He drank some water and stood up. “Don’t get me all wrong, it’s not like I’m worried and I do not have the appetite to continue eating. No, I’m filled and tired” He said.

“Oh Okay” I said.

“I’ll be waiting for you in the room” With that he left.

The atmosphere was solemn and sad.

I was lost in thought as I continue eating; the whole suitation has affected us too~ the good vibes has steadily disappeared. I still couldn’t finish my meal. I just had clear the plates and retire to the room.

Liam was lying down on the bed edge.. I thought he was fast asleep, so I covered him with a duvet and glared at his face and muttered “I’m sorry for all the troubles I’ve caused you”..

I sighed heavily and moved away

I lied down at the other bed edge, and faced the other side.

I thought he was already sleeping, not until he moved closer to where I lied down, wrap his hand around my waist and lie behind me in a spooning position.

“I’m sorry for all the troubles I’ve caused you too Eve” He whispered into my ears.
