Liam’s POV

I arrived at my father’s house shortly after Eve went inside. I know she can’t do it alone because I know the kind of father I have too. And it won’t be easy for Eve… especially now that there’s a threat and someone is behind everything.

” I can’t go in yet Robert ” I told him .. when he was surprised to see me.

” Then what if anyone of them sees you here? ” He said and I briefly explained why I can’t go inside the house yet.

” I’ll be at your place till it’s time ” I said.

I stayed at Robert’s place, which was at the other end of the mansion, I stayed at alert till I heard their voices. I heard my Father as he kept on repeating it that he can’t sign the papers.

I flung the door and walked in courageously, I have never been afraid of my father, looks like he is the one who is scared of me because I am forever ready to talk back at him.

“Dad, it wasn’t a registered legal marriage anyways” I said.. He was shocked to see me; Eve and Helen were too.

“What are you doing here Liam? What do you mean?” He asked me.

“Hello Dad, it’s been a long time” I smiled at him mischievously. A hint to let him know that I know something.

“Whether you sign the papers or not, it doesn’t change anything. My lawyer said the papers Eve signed are just ordinary papers” I said placing an emphasis on the word ‘Ordinary’.

“What?… you.. are behind this too, Liam.. you are in support?.” My father began to stutter.

“Eve is sick and tired of you, she wants to leave” I spoke in a bit calm way now.. but father was still being stubborn.. he shook his head in negation even after I just told him that we figured out that the papers Eve signed were ordinary printed papers not Marriage contracts.

“And why are you doing this? You just said it yourself that you both do not love eachother… and you only want her to stay under your roof.. any other reason?” I asked, pretending like I didn’t know anything. I feel bad for him though but I have always wanted him to learn a lesson. I didn’t know it would come through in such a hard way. Sorry for him..

“Liam” He called out my name. We could see it in his eyes that he was very afraid and it’s not because we are confronting him.

“You are right, it’s a fake marriage papers” My Dad finally admitted.

“So she simply has all rights to walk out of your so called marriage” Helen said.

“Please no” Mr Maya cried out.

“Liam, you won’t want to see your father fall or do you?” He asked me as His eyes became teary, mine finally was.. even when I tried to show no sign of concern.

“I was blackmailed; threatened..” He confessed and let the tears roll down his cheeks freely.

“She dealt with me with my weakest point and I fell into the trap” Mr Maya said.

“Mrs Pitts; Janet’s Mom. We figured out” Eve said.

“Eve, I’m very sorry” Mr Maya said..”Helen I am.. sorry..”

Helen scorned and walked away.

“Helen too?” I exclaimed, and fought back the tears from coming.

“It’s… It’s just a rape attempt, he didn’t succeed” Eve said.

“Remember when you said, you’ll cut my Libido. Please do it” Mr Maya said.. “It has got me into trouble”

I shook my head..”No, I am not supposed to be concern about what’s happening to you. This is a very big lesson to you must learn from” I spoke.

“Aside being a pedophile, your lackadaisical attitude..”

“Little do you know about Mark and I; just because you were always busy chasing everything underskirt and you thought you would get everything and go scortfree just because we are Wealthy and famous? Dad, I don’t want to see you go down or cry. I really want to help you but I don’t think there’s a way to stop your atrocity from going viral” I said.

“Please help me Liam. I just want to start a new good life” He spoke underneath his breathe and I really pitied him.

“Dad, can you really change? I waited and waited but you even became worst. Dad, you were supposed to be a father to us if at all, you can’t spend some time with us..”

“I guess this is the only time I can communicate with you properly in an improper way” I continued.

Eve came closer to me and mumbled ‘She’s sorry about it” then she left Dad and I. She went to sit on the last step of the staircase and buried her head in her hands.

“I am sorry Liam” My Dad apologized.

“You are sorry? No I think you are only sorry because everything has turned upside down so soon and it’s now very complicated” I said.

“I feel so sorry for you” A tear finally slid down my cheeks.

“We; I and Mark your abandoned sons still feel so sorry for not withstanding all the wrong things you have done”

“Do you know why Mark is not at home right now, he called me last night… Yeah we already planned all this before now. He told me he won’t be able to face your downfall or when you finally admit all what you have done wrong”

“Daddy, I’m a graduate in college, are you even aware? Alot of things happened to us before you know nothing”

“Fine Dad! I wanted you to settle down and move on with in your life whether it might aid you but not with someone like Eve”

I was breathing too fast. I had to stop talking and sighed heavily. I wiped the tiny spint of tears in my eyes.

“Well this is not why I am here”

I collected the divorce papers and pen from Eve and walked towards where my dad stood;

“Here, just sigh it” I forced the pen into his hands and made him put something down.

“Now get it together, because there is lot more. I would see if I can help” I finally said to him. I faced Eve, “Come with me”

Then we went outside together.

“Sorry” She said when we were beyond his sight, she cleaned my face with her bare hand.

“You finally bursted your heart out to him” She added.

“You can’t continue to stay with him” I told her, Of course ~ she can’t.

“Because you just got legally divorced” I said and she nodded.

“Thank you Liam” I said..
