“What do you mean by Ella’s twin Sister?” Mrs. Madison was overwhelmed by fear and couldn’t help but ask.

“Ella has no twin sister.” Maya responded with a very sharp tongue for she felt that her parents had been wronged.

Tony walked into the house calling out his wife as though she did something horrible.

“Amanda!”

Amanda didn’t respond

“Where is this witch in this…?”

“Good evening Sir,” Amanda greeted but Tony became more agitated.

“Spare me that crap, why is my front door open?”

She apologised sincerely before going to close the door.

“I’m sorry sir, I thought the door was locked…”

“You thought?” With burning anger. “Who asked you to think?”

“Nobody sir…”

Tarrr! Tony gave her a deadly slap. She held her cheeks and was ram into her room but Tony ordered her to come back.

“Where do you think you are going? Will you come back here?”

Amanda stood in front of Tony with tearing eyes.

“What did you cook for Dinner?”

“Sir, I cooked rice and stew.”

“Prepare something different as soon as possible.”

“Sir, what did you…?”

Tony responded Aggressively. “Something different, cook something different you fool.”

“Yes sir.”

Amanda answered with teary eyes and Tony left without even a glance at the teary lady.

“What do I cook? He has been away for more than three months only to show up tonight with frustration and without even giving me money to cook, he says I should cook something different.”

She cleaned her eyes and left for the kitchen and in two hours, she was done cooking and immediately started setting up the table.

Tony walked into the living room questioning her angrily. “And what are you still doing here?”

“I’m already done sir, I’m just set…”

Tony responded with an icy voice.

“Shut up!”

“Yes sir.” Responded Amanda

“I said shut up.”

A knock on the door.

Amanda staggered to the door and immediately she opened the door, the Lady at the door gave her a surprised slap which pushed her to the floor. She remained on the floor rubbing her cheeks and thought Tony would defend her, but he rather walked up to the lady, pecked her and gave her a warm hug while showering her with so much love and affection.

“Baby, what kept you so long?”

“I’m sorry my love, I had to take my bath first before coming. You know, we had a very long trip.”

“I understand my love, just that I was really missing you.”

Berri smiled shyly before speaking.

“Me? So soon? For three good months we have been together every second till 6:00 PM this evening.”

“You don’t understand how much I love you right?”

Tony hugged Berri so passionately while Amanda cried out bitterly and ran out of the house and leaned on the wall and unconsciously spoke to herself.

“I called Tony in the afternoon to find out what he would eat for dinner and he said his favourite. I took my time and prepared it only for him to come back demanding a different menu and…”

Amanda was brought back to her senses by Tony’s angry screams. He was shouting her name as if he was going to die the next minute.

“Amanda! Amanda!”

Amanda was startled by Tony’s voice and quickly responded while wiping her tears.

“sir, I’m coming.”

He pointed to the table and enquired. “What is this?”

“Pepper soup and yam sir.” Amanda responded with so much fear.

“Did I tell you I wanted to eat pepper soup and…?”

“Sir, you asked me to cook something different.”

“So? Where is the food you cooked for me before my arrival?”

“In the kitch…” Amanda was still talking but was pushed by Tony towards the kitchen while warning her seriously. “Before I close and open my eyes, rapture the food from the kitchen to this place.”

Amanda ran to the kitchen and returned with the food and hurriedly placed it on the table and returned to the kitchen to get the last dish and as soon as she placed it on the table, Tony said wickedly. “Next time, learn to reason like a human being or I will make you reason through the hard way.”

The next morning, as usual, Amanda woke up at 4:OO AM, tidied the house from the inside to the outside and prepared breakfast before it was 6:OO AM but unfortunately for her, Berri and Tony woke up as late as 9:OO AM when the breakfast was already cold. He opened the dishes and at the top of his voice, he called Amanda as though she was a slave.

“Amanda!”

Amanda heard her name and immediately she came inside she opened her mouth to greet but Tony gave her a slap as if he wanted to remove all her teeth.

“Good mo…” The slap Tony gave her caused blood to ooze from her mouth uncontrollably.

“Sir, what have I done again?”

“Amanda, you have developed guts, right? You dare question my authority in my own house?”

With tears running down her cheeks and with a shaky voice, she called out Tony’s name.

“Tony”

shocked, Tony questioned her angrily. “you dare call me by name?”

As if she did not hear him, she ignored Tony’s question and continued. “I am tired Tony…”

In a pathetic manner and tone, Berri questioned Amanda mockingly. “Oh sweetheart, are you tired? Then I think you should have some rest.”

Amanda clenched her fist after hearing what her husband’s side chick just said and in a low tone but serious manner she responded to Berri and her husband calmly. “Berri, this is my home so don’t tell me when to rest or not to rest.” She turned to Tony and continued. “Yesterday, I called to find out what you will eat for dinner upon your arrival. You told me rice and stew which is your favourite. I cooked it, when you arrived, you added a dish, I cooked it without having any problem with your demand. it aches my heart to know that the something different you commanded was for your mistress…”

“Amanda or whatever you call yourself, Fiance. I am his fiance and not a mistress” Berri corrected Amanda angrily while Tony angrily responded.

“I asked you to cook for the lady that captures my heart. Why sound as if you have a problem with it? Are you the one to tell me what to do and what not to do?”

“You can have as many ladies as you want outside, but I won’t tolerate you bringing them into this house.” Amanda warned in tears.

“As who? Tell me, you are giving me all these principles as who, Amanda?” Tony asked angrily.

“As your legal wife, Tony, for crying out loud I am your wife, the woman you deceived into loving you at 17…” Amanda was still talking when Tony interrupted her.

“Oh! So, you can still remember? Thank God you know that you were deceived, let me make this clear for you today, I only got married to you because I thought marrying you could keep my father alive.” Said Tony mercilessly which shocked Amanda to the core.

“what?” Amanda was shocked with this revelation.

“Yes Amanda, you were my father’s choice not my choice.” Tony said with an arrogant tone.

“Tony, you told me you loved me, you…” Amanda said as tears ran down continuously from her eyes.

“Love who? You don’t deserve my love.” As if he remembered something, he added. “Oh! Why am I even exchanging words with you?”

“Exactly what has been surprising me. For crying out loud Tony, she is still your wife so you ought to give her the honour…” Berri was trying to talk but Tony interrupted her angrily.

“Shut up.” He had never spoken to her in anger before. This made Berri look at Tony in shock.

“Are you for real? You…” Berri was very shocked to have been insulted by Tony and she was still questioning him when he quickly realised his mistake and hugged her while apologising.

“I’m sorry my love. It won’t happen again.”

Amanda stared at the two lovers in front of him with teary eyes.
