Chapter 33: Encounter iii

“Yes sure, expect me soon.” he replied her.

Not too long after, he made his way to Kate’s apartment.

Kate made lunch and they both enjoyed their meal.

On the other side, Anita was in the office as she went through the project she had at hand at the moment.

For some reasons, news had leaked from some other Media houses about a drug syndicate that needed to be caught. It was said that there would be a face to face business transaction close to the beach at night and it would occur in two days.

Anita didn’t know how to react about it as she thought about what to do. Should she phone Thomas? She had no idea.

Later that evening as she and Thomas was having dinner, she decided to bring it up.

“You have been looking at me. What’s wrong?” Thomas asked.

“I don’t know how it would look like, but I think I will be super busy next week. There is a drug syndicate that needs to be caught, I don’t know if it would be possible to carry out the work we planned. There is no way I can tag the information as fake because several media homes are publishing it.” she said.

“It’s fine. Eat your food. We will talk about it when it’s time.”

“Sir I don’t think we should use the beach anymore. We can use some other place where we would not be caught easily.”

“Places like where.” a thick voice sounded.”

“The burial home. Remember that the owner of the burial home is part of use. Our clients would act like they came to buy coffins why we do our business.”

“Change of plan then.”

Two days later, Kate had just got back from work. Dropping her bag, she wondered why she had not heard from her man since two days.

“what the hell is going on? No calls, no text. Hmmm” picking up her phone, she dialed his number.

“Hey baby!”

“Liam, I didn’t call for two days and since two days we haven’t spoken. Hope everything is alright.”

“Everything is cool babe. The force in on a mission to eradicate a certain drug syndicate that is bringing harm to our society. Let me call you back in a minute.” he said and hung up the call.

Liam was one man who lacks patience when it came to women plus he didn’t see enough reason why she would call only to ask him questions.

On the other hand, Kate was already losing it.

Eradicate a drug syndicate?

“Was it not the same thing Thomas and Anita was contributing in? But they are still in touch. Why was Liam’s case different?”

Sick of this, she got dressed and made her way to Anita’s apartment.

In a light dimmed part of a luxurious and private restaurant sat eight men dressed on suit as they discussed like the strong business men they were.

Three were obviously citizens of America while the rest were obviously men from other races. Judging by their hair and their tone of voice, they could be from the Asian region.

Among the three American men that were there were Thomas, Liam and their master identified as Lord Lin who had always been the brain behind almost all of their doings.

Though the three men were drug lots of their own, Lord Lin happened to be the strongest and they had always submitted as long as it had to involve him.

In this case, they were strictly under his authority because this was a huge business plan that had originated from him and wanted to be a huge part of the business.

“Lord Lin, you called for this meeting

I thought we already concluded during our last meeting. What do you have to say about our location?” the leader of the five foreign men spoke up.From NôvelDrama.Org.

“It’s already under the media’s watch. If you would risk your chance at business. I won’t.”

“How did the media find out about the location?”

“That, we have no idea about, but we have to take precautionary measures.”

“Great idea.”

“We are not going to make use of the beach anymore, but a burial home. To avoid any leakage, I will send you the address of the burial home before we make our move. What do you think?”

“You are very brilliant Lord Lin. I agree to your idea.” the asian man responded while his partners agreed as they nodded their head to show it.

The rest was up to Liam and Thomas to ensure they played their parts well and use whoever could be used as long as they got to achieve their aim.

After coming to an agreement, they then clicked their glasses in unison and enjoyed their orders before taking their leaves.

“Did you hear that? No mistakes or we are doomed.”

“There will be no mistake Lord Lin. I’m playing my part well. I will also ensure that I get Anita to play her part to ensure we have a free and clear passing.”

“Good one. To you Liam, you are beginning to act ignorant when it comes to Kate. Do you know that the little Kate you are clearly taking for granted is the same little Kate that can rat you out if you’re not careful.”

“I’m sorry Lord Lin, I will play my game better.”

Raising his palm, “drop me off.” he then said, and in seconds, the driver drove off.

After dropping their Godfather off, Thomas and Liam made their way to Thomas’ apartment to catch breath.

“But brother, what if they start to suspect something? These ladies are smart.”

“That why they are ladies. Their brains are too tiny. Like that of a chicken. As long as we got their hearts, we can get everything.” Thomas replied Liam and took in a large gulp of his wine.

Liam stood for sometime on the wine counter as he thought of something.

After some seconds, his eyeballs widened…
