Lara’s tears flowed down her face as she drowned her sorrows at a dimly lit bar. The Alpha, Kilian, had been in her life for five long years, and she had given him everything in an effort to be valuable to him. But his words earlier that day shattered her illusions of her own importance. He used to indulge her every whim, so why had he suddenly changed? Did he not understand her feelings? Had she not made herself clear enough? Why did he always ignore her emotions?
Lara had never felt such anguish in all her existence. Unbeknownst to her, a group of men in a dark corner had taken notice of her as she continued to drown herself in liquor.
Eventually, one of the men approached her with a drink in hand.
“Evening, beauty. Are you all by your lonesome?”
Lara glanced at him and ignored his presence, focusing solely on her drink.
“What’s the matter? Upset, are you? How about I join you for a drink?” the man persisted.
“Get lost!” Lara snapped impatiently, finding men like him repugnant.
Unwilling to give up, the man boldly placed an arm around her and continued, “My, my, you’re quite feisty! Come now, tell me of your troubles. I might be able to assist.”
“Get your filthy hands off me!” Lara stood up, trying to break free, but her balance wavered after all the drinking.
The man hastily reached out to catch her as she stumbled. “Whoa! Be careful, miss! You might fall and hurt yourself!”
“F*ck off!” Lara shoved him away and glared fiercely.
“Aww, don’t be mad! Your anger only makes me more intrigued!” the man shamelessly grinned.
Realizing he was nothing more than a troublemaker, Lara had no interest in wasting her time speaking to him. Just as she turned to leave, the other men cornered her, blocking her path.
“Why the angry face? We just want to share a drink with you!”
Lara sensed danger as the men closed in around her. “Stay away from me!”
“Don’t be afraid, miss! We simply want to get to know you better over some drinks!”
Left with no alternative, Lara grabbed her phone and called Alpha Kilian right then and there.
“Come and save me, Alpha Kilian! I’m at the Golden Street Bar!” she anxiously shouted as the call connected after a few rings.
“What’s happening, Lara?”
“Who do you think you are phoning? We just want to enjoy a drink with you! No need to involve anyone!” one of the men snatched her phone and abruptly ended the call.
“D-Don’t come any closer!” she stammered, retreating.
Hearing her words only spurred the men to encroach further. “Geez, all we want is to have a drink with you! Why are you overreacting like this?”
“I know, right?”
“F*ck off! Leave me alone!” Lara shouted. One of the men tampered with his drink and said, “Fine, let’s all drink this and be done with it!”
Aware of their malicious intentions, Lara snatched the glass from his hand and smashed it against the floor.
“You insolent b*tch!” the man yelled, preparing to strike her. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
Before his hand could make contact with her face, someone shouted from behind, “Halt!” The men turned to see several police officers sprinting toward them.
Attempting to flee, the men were swiftly captured by the officers.
“We didn’t do anything, officers! We only wanted to have a drink with her!” they protested, kneeling on the floor.
“Shut up and show us your identification!”
Too stunned to react, Lara silently observed from the sidelines.
Moments later, Alpha Kilian barged in through the entrance and approached her. “Lara, are you alright?”
His voice snapped her out of her daze, and she immediately burst into tears upon seeing him. “Oh, Alpha Kilian! I was so scared!” she sobbed, clinging to him tightly.
“It’s alright. You’re safe now,” Alpha Kilian reassured her after surveying their surroundings.
A police officer came over to question them, and Alpha Kilian helped answer on Lara’s behalf.
Just as the police were about to dismiss the situation as a misunderstanding, Alpha Kilian noticed a white pill on the floor.
“What is this?” he asked, picking it up with a furrowed brow.
The men attempted to escape upon seeing it, but the officers intercepted them and pinned them to the ground.
Approaching Alpha Kilian, a police officer inspected the pill, which hadn’t fully dissolved. “If I’m not mistaken, this seems to be some sort of ecstasy pill. We’ll need to run tests in the lab to confirm.”
“Please do, officers,” Alpha Kilian replied.
The officer turned to the men on the floor and commanded, “Take them in!”
Alpha Kilian waited until the incident was resolved before leading Lara out of the bar.
Her clothes torn from the confrontation, he draped his coat around her shoulders for cover.
Feeling safer after his timely rescue, Lara found herself becoming increasingly dependent on him.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Kilian…” she apologized as they reached his car.
“What are you apologizing for?” Alpha Kilian inquired.
“I know I shouldn’t have kept things from you, and I shouldn’t have yelled. I’ve been reflecting on my mistakes today, Alpha Kilian. I’m truly sorry.”
Having always appreciated her efficiency at work, Alpha Kilian chose to overlook her minor transgressions. “Conflict in the workplace is commonplace. There’s no need to apologize.”
“But are you still angry with me?” Lara asked.
“It doesn’t bother me at all,” Alpha Kilian responded.
Huh? It doesn’t bother him?
Uncertain whether to laugh or cry at his remark, Lara sobbed with tears in her eyes.
“I was truly scared…” she whimpered.
“Next time, don’t drink alone, Lara. You’re no longer a child. You know the consequences if they had forced that drink down your throat earlier. This is the first time you’ve made such a foolish mistake,” Alpha Kilian scolded her.
“I know, but don’t forget that I’m a woman! Can’t you speak to me with more tenderness, Alpha Kilian?” Lara playfully exclaimed.
Alpha Kilian simply frowned at her, saying nothing.
“I just want to be treated gently…” she murmured, stepping forward only to lose her balance and fall into his arms.
Unbeknownst to them, a few individuals were capturing the moment in a nearby car, capturing the image for their own purposes.
