From the angle of the photo taken, their closeness appeared suspiciously intimate.
Alpha Kilian, the dominant Alpha of the pack, yearned to drag Lara to her feet, but her body remained weak and limp against him. No matter how much he supported her, she couldn’t find the strength to stand.
“Alpha Kilian, I’m sorry…” Her voice was filled with desperation as her body pressed heavily against his.
“Lara? Lara!” Alpha Kilian attempted to rouse her, but she remained unresponsive. With no other option, he scooped her up and settled her in the passenger seat of his car.
Once she was situated, he quickly rounded the car and slid into the driver’s seat. As he sped towards Lara’s secluded condominium, he failed to notice the paparazzi tailing closely behind.
Alpha Kilian guided Lara’s finger to the sensor on her front door. After a series of beeps and a buzzing sound, the door unlocked and he carried her straight to her bedroom. Familiar with her living space, he maneuvered through the condo with ease.
After gently placing Lara on her bed, he prepared to depart.
“No! No! Let go of me!” Unexpectedly, Lara’s voice pierced the silence, filled with terror.
Alpha Kilian glanced back to find Lara thrashing about, caught in the clutches of a nightmare.
Rushing to her side, he clasped her hand tightly. “Lara? Lara, it’s alright. You’re safe now. We’re in your condo.”
After murmuring soothing words, Lara’s eyes fluttered open, tears welling up within them. “Alpha Kilian…” Her voice cracked as she pulled him into a tight embrace.
“I’m scared! I’m so scared!” Her entire body quivered as she clung onto Alpha Kilian.
Comforting her with gentle pats on her back, Alpha Kilian whispered reassurances. “You’re safe now, Lara. No harm will come to you.”
They remained in that embrace for what felt like an eternity. Alpha Kilian lost track of time, only unwrapping her arms from his neck when her cries subsided.
“Lara, you should rest for the remainder of the night. You don’t need to go to the office tomorrow,” Alpha Kilian suggested.
Lara remained silent, her pleading eyes fixed on him.
“It’s late, and I must go now,” he explained, rising to his feet.
However, Lara grabbed onto his arm, her expression filled with fear. “Alpha Kilian, can you stay with me? I’m frightened. At least stay until I fall asleep, please? I can’t bear the thought of sleeping here alone tonight,” she pleaded.
Alpha Kilian succumbed to her pleas, nodding solemnly. “Alright. I’ll stay with you. I’ll be in the living room.”
Lara nodded gratefully, mustering a smile.
“Rest well.” He stood up and made his way to the living room, comforting her with his presence.
Lara knew Alpha Kilian was a man of his word. He would stay because he promised.
As the door clicked shut, the fear dissipated from her face. The pleading gaze disappeared, replaced by a determined glint in her eyes.
Alpha Kilian, I’ll do whatever it takes to make you stay by my side.
Before dawn broke, Lara emerged from her room.
After freshening up, she changed into a luxuriously soft silk pajama set.
Meanwhile, Alpha Kilian lounged on the couch in the living room, his eyes closed.
Believing he was still asleep, Lara tiptoed towards him, blanket in hand, intending to cover him.
But the moment her fingers brushed against him, Alpha Kilian’s eyes shot open.
“Did I wake you?” Lara asked with concern.
Their proximity caused Alpha Kilian’s heart to race, captivated by her enticing scent.
“Mm-hmm,” he grunted, quickly averting his gaze.
“I apologize for waking you. I was worried you might be chilly, so I wanted to give you a blanket,” Lara explained.
“It’s fine.” Alpha Kilian was pushing himself up to a sitting position when Lara stumbled, falling into him.
With her soft, fragrant body pressed against his, Alpha Kilian felt a deep stirring within him.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…” Lara apologized, but she made no move to disentangle herself from him.
Their eyes met, and Alpha Kilian’s gaze changed.
“What’s the matter, Alpha Kilian?” Lara breathed against his ear, locking eyes with him.
Alpha Kilian remained silent, his focus fixed solely on her.
Lara’s heart raced, her desire to be with Alpha Kilian overpowering all rationality. She longed to be his, more than anything in the world.
She gently traced his face with her fingers, leaning down gradually, inching closer to his lips. “Alpha Kilian, may I…”
In that instant, mocking images of Nelly flashed through Alpha Kilian’s mind, her impassive face mocking him.
Instinctively, he turned his head, causing Lara’s lips to graze his cheek.
“What’s wrong, Alpha Kilian?” Lara questioned.
“It’s late. I should leave.” Alpha Kilian pushed Lara away. “Rest for a few more days. There’s no rush to return to the office.” He hurriedly rose to his feet, crossed the room, exited, and shut the door before she could respond.
Disappointed and enraged, Lara watched as he slipped away.
I saw the hunger in his eyes. I took the initiative, yet he managed to resist.
Grabbing a pillow from the couch, she hurled it across the room. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
A refreshing breeze caressed Alpha Kilian as he stepped out of the lobby, jolting him back to reality.
Reflecting on the situation, he realized he had been unable to control himself in Lara’s presence. But during such a crucial moment, Nelly’s face invaded his thoughts.
That woman has become my nightmare, a constant reminder.
Without delving further into his thoughts, Alpha Kilian hopped into his car and sped away from the parking lot.
While he freshened up and changed his clothes, news of his passionate kiss with Lara in public, followed by their night together, spread like wildfire through the media.
Alpha Kilian furrowed his brows as he perused the news online, listening to his assistant’s report.
“Alpha Morris, were you truly with Ms. Gareth yesterday?”
“Are you calling me for idle gossip?” Alpha Kilian retorted, dismissing the question.
He didn’t take the rumors seriously, knowing he had been involved in countless scandals with Lara over the years. Another addition to the pile wouldn’t affect him one way or another.
“No, sir. I’m calling to inform you about today’s meeting schedule. It has already been sent to your phone.”
Alpha Kilian glanced at his phone before abruptly ending the call.
Examining the news, a peculiar gleam flickered in his eyes.
Tony had been fixated on his phone since the crack of dawn.
Ben slid in beside him, curiosity piqued. “What’s captured your attention so early in the morning?”
Without a word, Tony turned the screen towards him, allowing Ben a glimpse.
Ben was rendered speechless after reading the news. After a prolonged silence, he inquired, “Is he quite affluent, isn’t he?”
Tony shot him a disdainful look. “I believe this woman is his fiancee.”
“So, he’s on the verge of getting married?” Ben probed.
“Take a look at the numerous scandals he’s had over the years.”
Ben reached for the phone, quickly typing a simple query into the search engine. A long list of scandals involving Alpha Kilian appeared in the search results, solidifying his reputation as a prominent figure.
