A Successful Career After Divorce

Brendon handed her to Steve, his face cold. “Steve, can you show her what’s going on?”

Steve looked at Brendon and said calmly, “Sure, give her to me. You go rest first.”

Brendon’s face couldn’t get any darker. What was wrong with these people? Couldn’t he care about Ranita? They all wanted to drive him away from her!

Brendon held his breath and entered the elevator.

On the way down two floors, a couple came in. The woman had a big round belly and the man carefully supported her while saying, “I told you to sit in a wheelchair but you insisted on walking. Your leg cramps are so bad that it must hurt. Also, you have low blood sugar; what if you faint…”

As Brendon listened, his brow suddenly twitched. His gaze fell on the woman’s round belly as he thought about Ranita having leg cramps and low blood sugar… and her stomach getting bigger…

The elevator reached its destination and Brendon stepped out.

He drove far away but still thought about this matter… until an idea popped into his mind. He slammed on the brakes hard and turned around back towards the hospital.

In the examination room, Steve looked worriedly at Ranita as he said, “Ranita, have you not been eating well lately? You’re not alone now; besides three meals a day with rich nutrition plus more fruit intake… you also need some exercise as well as good sleep habits.”

After speaking up until here, Steve remembered what had happened recently so he comforted her, “Since things have already happened, we just need to look forward positively.”

Of course Ranita knew that love was irrational like this!

“I will take good care of my health! Thank you Dr. Pearson!” Ranita lay weakly on bed.

Steve handed over a lemon candy to her, “No problem! Rest for now; I’ll come back after I check up later.” As soon as Steve left, Brendon arrived at that moment.

He stood at door looking through the small glass window. Ranita had become very pale with delicate facial features; she really lost weight recently…

Brendon felt pain in his heart wave after wave…

After hesitating for quite some time, Brendon decided to ask clearly.

“Excuse me sir!” Suddenly there came nurse’s gentle voice from behind him, “Who are you inside Ms. Bowman’s room? What are you doing here?”

“I am her… husband…” Brendon had just finished speaking when the nurse handed him a report. “This is Ms. Bowman’s examination report!”

“Good! I’ll take it in!” Brendon took it and was about to push the door open when the nurse smiled at him again. “Dr. Pearson will be here soon! Congratulations to you both!”

Suddenly, Brendon’s fingers froze.

He looked at the examination report and rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things. He had seen Shannon’s examination report and knew what that skyrocketing hcg value meant.

Was Ranita really pregnant?

After being shocked and overjoyed, all that remained in Brendon’s heart was intense anger! Ranita had been hiding this from him all along!

He grabbed the report with force, pushed open the door with a loud bang.

Ranita was startled and about to speak but saw Brendon raise the report in his hand, looking like he wanted to eat her alive as he questioned, “Ranita, explain how this child came about?”

Ranita shuddered as she hadn’t even reacted yet but her arm had already been forcefully grabbed by him; his eyes were bloodshot red. “Ranita… how long have you been hiding this from me?”
