A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 312 Mr. Stuart has a Kind Heart

“Ranita?! Ranita!” Brendon looked at the woman suddenly falling towards him in confusion. “What’s wrong with you? Ranita!”

Her face was very pale, sickly pale. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Brendon’s anger dissipated instantly as he held onto Ranita tightly, his lips trembling. “I’ll take you to the hospital!”

Ranita felt her body swaying and that feeling of weakness and emptiness slowly faded away as she regained some consciousness. She weakly spoke up, “Brendon, park the car!”

“I need to get out of the car!”

Brendon glanced at her from the corner of his eye. “Sit tight and don’t go anywhere.”

“Brendon…” Ranita grabbed onto her seatbelt and tried to muster some strength, “I’m fine… I can go home by myself if you let me out here.”

“How are you going to make it home like this? You might faint on the side of the road later!” Brendon held back his anger that was about to explode inside him, “Just because we’re divorced doesn’t mean we have to avoid each other.”

Ranita had red eyes but no energy left for anger anymore. “We’re divorced now, so I don’t want to be friends with you either. So just leave me alone if I faint on the roadside.”

“Ranita!” Brendon was so angry that he saw black spots in front of his eyes.

His attempts at reconciliation were worthless in her eyes.

“Don’t worry about it; even if someone else ran into me, they would send me straight to a hospital too! So don’t flatter yourself thinking too much,” said Ranita coldly.

Brendon’s attitude reverted back to how it used be before their divorce.

It wasn’t true when she said she wasn’t sad about it all.

Before this happened, she hesitated like a fool waiting for him come closer… Later when he said he didn’t want a divorce anymore, Ranita couldn’t have been happier… Unfortunately their fate together just wasn’t enough.

“Well then thank you, Mr. Stuart, for being so caring!” With fingers tightly gripping onto her seatbelt while closing her eyes, she was trying hard not to show any emotions.

The car raced down road without any conversation between them.

As soon as Ranita recovered slightly and reached for her phone ready to call Dylan, a hand stretched over with mint candy resting in its palm.

“Eat this!”

Ranita didn’t move, “Mr. Stuart, I don’t like eating mint candy.”

Brendon’s blood pressure shot up!

He really was an idiot! He worried himself sick asking Steve how best handle things… only for this wicked woman reject him!

“Fine!” Brendon slammed the mint candy down and scowled.

Ranita caught a glimpse of his expression and knew he was angry.

But what could she do? One piece of candy wouldn’t fix their relationship…

The car came to a stop, and Ranita’s legs shook as she got out. Before she could take two steps, someone grabbed her arm and lifted her into their arms.

“Put me down! I can find Dr. Pearson on my own!” Ranita whispered.

“Dylan will come to see me soon.”

Brendon replied coldly. “Mr. Stuart is kind enough to give you a ride.”

Ranita felt dizzy but remembered not to let Brendon know about her situation until they were in the elevator. She struggled in his arms, “Brendon, please put me down! Miss Murphy is staying here at the hospital; it’s not good if we run into her…”

Brendon tightened his grip on her hand.

“You can’t just start something good without finishing it,” he said with more anger than before.

Ranita was furious but too weak to push him away. She had no choice but to let Brendon carry her up to Steve’s office.
