“Shannon, as a young lady from a wealthy family, didn’t your education teach you how to be a decent person? Brendon and I are not divorced yet. Are you telling me that your love for him is innocent? Is your child innocent? Did I tie you up and let you seduce my husband?”

“Interfering in someone else’s marriage makes you feel great, doesn’t it?”

Ranita was having trouble breathing. She was disgusted beyond belief! Even her lower abdomen began to ache painfully.

“Ranita… I…” Shannon gasped for air and couldn’t get the words out. Tears streamed down her face like a flood, soaking her dress.

“Shannon, let me say it again! Stop acting you’re familiar with me!” Ranita paused before sneering coldly with pursed lips, “Of course, if I had such an shameless friend like yours, I would just kill her.”

Ranita didn’t want to see Shannon anymore and turned around to leave.

“Ranita… I didn’t mean to ruin things between us… I…” Shannon clutched her stomach with one hand while covering her face with the other. Her body slumped onto the ground like jellyfish. “Hiss… my stomach hurts so much.”

“Shannon! What’s wrong?! Ah!” At that moment, Holly rushed over in high heels and, upon seeing Shannon sitting on the ground, immediately ran towards Ranita.

Holly was moving too fast, and although Ranita dodged, she still got bumped, her body slamming heavily into the wall!

“Ranita, what did you do to Shannon?” Holly’s eyes widened in anger as she rushed towards Ranita.

Holly was about to charge ahead when Shannon stopped her, saying, “Holly, it’s not Ranita’s fault… it’s me. Ranita couldn’t accept the fact that I’m pregnant, and that’s okay. I don’t blame Ranita for it!”

“Hiss…my stomach hurts…”

As soon as Holly heard about Shannon’s stomach pain, she became extremely nervous and helped support Shannon while calling Brendon at the same time.

In no time at all, hurried footsteps approached them quickly.

Immediately after seeing Brendon arrive on scene, Shannon leaned weakly against him; her eyebrows furrowed together pitifully as she spoke softly, “Brendon…I’m fine…don’t blame Ranita…”

Ranita choked on bitterness stuck in her throat.

Her stomach churned violently like waves crashing against rocks; sweat beads formed densely along her back but she remained calm in front of Brendon, “I did nothing.”

“Ranita, don’t lie! I saw everything!” Holly was furious and went to Brendon to complain. “Brother, don’t listen to Ranita! It’s all her fault that Shannon is in trouble!”

“She knew Shannon is pregnant and is jealous, so she bullied her! She can’t stand seeing Shannon doing well!”

“Brother, Shannon’s stomach hurts. Let’s take her to the hospital quickly. What if something happens? What are we going to do?” Holly kept talking without noticing Brendon’s increasingly unpleasant expression.

Brendon looked at Ranita and said in a hoarse voice, “Ranita, I…”

“Brendon! My stomach hurts so much… Can you take me to rest?” Shannon threw herself into Brendon’s arms and hugged his waist tightly. She seemed about to faint.

Brendon frowned, clenched his fists and supported Shannon.

“Ranita, I’ll talk with you later tonight. First I’ll take Shannon to rest.”

“Brendon!” Ranita grabbed his arm and silently swallowed the bitterness on the tip of her tongue. When she raised an eyebrow, she even smiled slightly at the corner of her lips.

She said, “What if I say no?”
