You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 957: The Gift

Xander laughed, “Since when have you become so polite? You’re nothing like your old self.”

Orion filled his glass to the brim, “What was I like before?”

Xander pretended to think hard.

“At any rate, you weren’t a good person.”

Orion retorted, “Don’t slander me, my bride-to-be is at the table. If she hears your words and won’t marry me, you owe me a wife.”

Xander sighed, “I don’t even have a wife myself, how can I owe you one? How about I offer myself to you instead?”

“Get lost, the farther the better,” Orion teased back.

The atmosphere at the dinner table was jovial.

Everyone was genuinely happy for Orion and Luna.

Their reunion was not easy.

This happiness was hard-won.

“Here, let’s toast to your happiness first,” Xander raised his glass.

Orion raised his glass to clink with him.

Evan raised his glass, “Here’s to your dream coming true.”

Orion poured himself a full glass and clinked glasses with Evan.

He drank down the contents of his glass.

Freya raised her juice glass, “I’ll celebrate your union with juice, finally coming together.”

Orion said, “Thank you.”

They clinked glasses and drank up.

The atmosphere at the dinner table was very pleasant.

Everyone chatted and laughed.

As the evening came to a close, Orion had a few too many drinks.

Luna wanted to talk to Freya, so she sent Orion to their hotel room to rest.

Freya left the hotel with Morton and Luna, heading to the riverside where many people were out for an evening stroll.

They joined the crowd, feeling the gentle breeze as they walked.

Morton wanted to walk on his own, though slowly.

Luna reached out to him, “Come, Auntie will hold your hand.”

Morton reached out, his small hand fitting softly in hers.

“Children are so wonderful, carefree,” Luna marveled.

Freya teased her, “But you can be carefree too.”

“Adults’ thoughts are complex, who can truly be carefree as an adult,” she glanced at Freya, “Can you? Are you carefree now?”

Freya pondered, “I am content now, just going through the motions.”

Luna teased, “If someone hears that, they might say you’re not content.”

Freya explained, “It’s not about being content, it’s just that in life, we always feel like something is missing.”

Luna nudged her playfully, “It’s because you’re not working, you feel a bit empty.”

Freya redirected the conversation, “And you, how are you feeling now?”

Luna looked up, facing the breeze with her hair fluttering.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

“It’s quite complicated, like I’m dreaming. Sometimes I wonder, what if I wake up from this dream?” she lowered her head, “Freya, am I dreaming now?”

“Do you want me to pinch you?” she teased.

Luna reached out, “Go ahead, pinch me.”

“I wouldn’t dare, you’re about to be a bride, if you have bruises on your body, it’ll affect you wearing the wedding dress,” Freya joked.

Luna asked, “Freya, are you happy?”

Freya nodded, “I am happy.”

She looked at Luna, “You will be very happy too.”

Luna smiled, “I hope so.”

Freya patted her shoulder, “You must be happy.”

Luna said, “I’ll try my best.”

“Oh, I have a gift for you, it’s in the hotel, I’ll give it to you when we get back,” Freya said, “It’s a gift for your wedding, I carefully selected it.”

Luna curiously asked, “What gift is it?”

“It wouldn’t be fun if I told you in advance,” Freya replied, “You’ll find out once you see it.”

“Mama, Mama,” Morton suddenly called out.

Freya followed his gaze and saw a vendor selling windmills.

The child ran over with his short legs.

Luna followed, “Slow down, you might trip.”

Morton reached out to take one.

The vendor saw how adorable the child was and didn’t mind. After all, when children take things, adults usually buy.

The vendor liked children like this.

Luna asked, “How much is it?”

“Fifteen bucks,” the vendor replied, offering his payment code.

Luna paid using her phone.

Today, with the wind blowing, the windmill spun, making Morton giggle in delight.

Children were like this, easily amused by simple things.

Isn’t childhood the happiest time in one’s life?

Carefree, without worries or troubles.

Returning from the riverside, Freya gave Luna the gift she had brought.

Luna held it, “Is it a red envelope?”

Freya rolled her eyes, “Red envelopes are for weddings.”

Luna smiled, “Then I’ll gladly accept it.”

“Of course, you should accept it,” it was carefully chosen after all.

“Go back to rest early,” Freya said, “Star didn’t see you all day, she’ll miss you.”

Luna nodded.

Orion rested at the hotel.

Luna returned home.

Early the next morning, Orion hurried back.

Luna was having breakfast alone.

Orion was still wearing yesterday’s wrinkled clothes.

He ran a hand through his hair, “I couldn’t control myself yesterday, had a bit too much fun.”

Luna set down her spoon, walked over and looked at his scruffy appearance, “Go wash up, come eat something.”

Orion grabbed her hand, “Are you angry?”

“I’m not angry,” Luna replied.

She knew everyone was having a good time at the dinner table, Orion wouldn’t spoil that.

Orion said, “I’ll make sure not to drink too much next time.”

“Mm,” Luna responded.

Orion went to shower, and Luna cooked some eggs in the kitchen. When Orion came out, she served him the eggs and a glass of milk.

“Have the milk first.”

Orion obediently took the glass and drank.

Luna said, “Hangover must be tough, the warm milk should help.”

Orion said, “I know you’re looking out for me.”

Luna placed the eggs on his plate, “Eat.”

“Did Freya give you a gift?” Orion asked.

Luna raised an eyebrow, “You know about that?”

Orion said, “I saw the box on the table.”

His face lit up with curiosity, “What did she give you?”

Luna said, “Eat first, stop asking.”

“I want to know,” Orion’s expression was full of curiosity as he looked at her.

Waa waa…

Star suddenly started crying.

Luna stood up, “I’ll go check on Star, you eat first.”

She walked to the room to pick up Star.

“She just fell asleep, why did she wake up so soon?” After a good meal, she should not be hungry, Luna checked the diaper to see if it was wet or dirty.

By now, Luna was accustomed to taking care of her baby and could usually tell why she was crying.

She put Star back down and changed her diaper.

A baby’s skin is delicate, requiring careful care.

Wipes and clean water were needed.

Under Luna’s attentive care, Star never had diaper rash.

Orion finished his meal and came into the room.
