You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 707: The Unjustified Path

In the distance, Luna’s voice could be heard, “Freya, it’s me. I called to ask if you’ve been in contact with Zane?”

Freya instinctively replied, “No, has he come to see you?”

“No,” Luna hesitated, “It’s nothing…”

“He hasn’t come to see you, why suddenly ask about him?” Freya knew Luna wouldn’t call without reason, especially about Zane.

Surely she had some news about Zane.

“He left me a letter, saying he wanted to go on a journey of his own and then disappeared. He hasn’t contacted me since, and I have no idea where he’s gone. If you know anything about him, please let me know,” Freya said.

Luna hesitated for a moment and then simply said, “Tyler is investigating a case, and it seems to involve Zane.”

Freya frowned, “Has he done something illegal?”

Luna reassured her, “It’s not clear yet. Don’t worry, if I see him, I’ll talk to him.”

Freya still wasn’t at ease, “If you see him, make sure he calls me.”

“Okay.”

“I’ll hang up now,” Luna said.

Freya acknowledged with a sound.

Elijah hung up the phone, “He’s an adult now, don’t worry too much.”

Freya looked up at him. She didn’t have much of a relationship with this half-brother before. They got along alright after Yolanda’s death. After all, they were still blood relatives.

He was on his own out there.

Of course, she still worried.

She was more afraid that Zane would take an unjustified path.

“Don’t think about things you know nothing about,” Elijah said.

Freya smiled at him, “I know.”

She continued cooking.

It was her first time making fried pork balls. Apart from slightly overcooking them, they were okay.

They weren’t bad, but they didn’t taste as good as those in restaurants.

They lacked the crispiness on the outside and tenderness on the inside.

“I’ll make something simpler next time,” she said.

Elijah replied, “Alright.”

“You’re just lying to me,” Freya said, but he was actually lying to himself, although deep down, he was pleased.

He felt his old ways were being acknowledged.

Elijah handed some food to their son, “Eat some more.”

Kai blinked his big eyes and said, “Dad, I’ve eaten a lot already.”

He reached into Elijah’s bowl, “Dad, you eat this instead!”

Freya chuckled as she looked at Elijah, “Not good?”

Elijah said, “…”

He said they were alright.

Not bad.

Freya also served him.

Elijah said, “…”

Since Linda wasn’t there, Freya took care of cooking and cleaning up.

Elowen looked after the children.

After tidying up the house a bit, it was already late.

Elijah was in the study.

He received a call during dinner, probably related to work that needed his attention.

Freya went upstairs by herself.

After a shower, she lay down in bed to sleep.

She quickly drifted off, possibly due to exhaustion.

In a daze, she felt movement on the bed.

“Mmm…”

She turned over, murmured softly, “Done with work?”

Elijah held her close and softly responded, “Mmm.”

She closed her eyes, resting on his chest, “You’re too busy.”

Elijah spoke softly, “Freya.”

She sleepily asked, “Yes?”
