Chapter 7
After the custody transfer was complete, Mila threw a big party to announce their reunion as mother and daughter to the world.
All the relatives connected to the Jones family were invited.
As I arrived at the entrance, Mila was there welcoming guests, and Sofia rolled her eyes when she saw me.
I didn’t get upset. I walked into the hall, ready to watch the show.
Today was indeed a special day.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
It was my lucky day, and also the day Sofia’s long–lost father would be released from prison.
Relatives who hadn’t been seen in a while were gossiping about the changes in our family.
Meanwhile, Sofia and her mother mingled among the guests, maintaining their image with constant lies.
Occasionally, glances filled with disdain were cast in my direction. “A jinx on her husband and child, destined to be a widow,” they muttered.
“She was so cruel to her biological daughter. Now that she knows it’s not her biological child, who knows what she’ll do. It’s a good thing you were decisive enough to take your daughter back,” they whispered.
