CHAPTER 447
Chapter 447
“Alright.”
Francis walked in arm in arm with Caroline, his gaze lifted to the figure standing in front of
the dining table, a silhouette he knew all too well.
His brows furrowed, eyes narrowing slightly.
Could it be… her?
Caroline’s reaction was more direct, exclaiming, “Is it really you?”
Rebecca stood upright, her hands clasped in front of her, visibly nervous. “Mr. Francis, hello, Ms. Caroline, hello.”
Truth be told, when she had submitted her design, it was more of a shot in the dark, not daring to hope for too much.
After all, there’s always someone better, and she never allowed herself to think she was
the best.
But who would have thought, luck would be on her side, and she’d actually be chosen?
Because of a past misunderstanding with Caroline, Rebecca bit her lip, feeling uneasy.
Caroline, seeing Rebecca, felt a twinge of annoyance. Why did it have to be her?
“What’s up?”
Francis turned to Caroline.
He was aware of their previous discord.
Honestly, he wanted nothing to do with Rebecca either.
So, he squeezed Caroline’s hand, “If you’re not happy, we can find another designer.”
This statement practically dismissed Rebecca without a discussion, a clear snub!
Rebecca’s expression stiffened, her smile nearly faltering… she knew it would be like this!
Seems like all her efforts were in vain.
Forcing a laugh, Rebecca said, “If that’s how Mr. Francis sees it, then I’ll take my leave.”
She bent down to grab her backpack from a chair.
“Hold on.” After a moment of hesitation, Caroline called out to her, “We might have had our differences, but I’m someone who separates personal issues from work. I’m buying your design because it’s a collaboration. Let’s not dwell on the past, okay?”
“But…” Rebecca’s eyes lit up, she nodded, about to respond.

“Caroline.”
But then, Francis interrupted, “A wedding dress is crucial, and you’ll need to communicate a lot. You shouldn’t settle for a designer you’re not fond of, don’t trouble yourself. There are plenty of great designers out there.”
Rebecca internally rolled her eyes.
What’s with this guy? The person involved isn’t even bothered, yet he’s making a big deal out of it. A man, and yet pettier than a woman! Hmph!
Caroline was clearly pleased.
Leaning into his embrace, “I know you’re looking out for me, but I genuinely like her design. It’s okay… I’m not one to hold grudges. Let’s give her a chance.”
“Caroline.” Francis was reluctant, “I just don’t want anything to upset you, especially with something as joyful as our wedding.”
“How could I be upset when you’re so considerate?”
Caroline’s eyes curved into a smile, “As long as you’re good to me, nothing else matters.”
Seeing he couldn’t persuade her otherwise, Francis gave in, “You really like her design that
much?”
“Mhm, I do.” Caroline pouted, nodding.
“Alright.” Francis finally agreed, “If that’s what you want, we’ll give her a chance.” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“Francis, you’re the best!”
Caroline beamed, tiptoeing to plant a kiss on Francis‘ cheek.
Rebecca quickly lowered her gaze. Watching people being affectionate was supposedly bad luck.
It seemed Mr. Francis was truly devoted to his wife. A little charm from Caroline, and he was all in.
Given the way he doted on her, if Caroline wished for the stars, he’d probably find a way to fetch them.
“Rebecca.”
“Yep.”
Hearing her name, Rebecca looked up cheerfully, “Ms. Caroline, what can I do for you? Just say the word.”
