What Separates Me and You

Chapter 115 Go to Hell

Lewis brought her to Alvarez Manor. He left her in the living room and went straight to the study. Robert was pacing back and forth inside, almost wearing the flooring down. He snatched the ashtray off the desk and flung it towards the door as soon as it opened.

Lewis effortlessly avoided the ashtray by tilting his head. It crashed into the wall behind his ear, causing a loud thud that frightened everyone downstairs.

Before Josephine could even settle down, she heard Robert’s angry voice coming from upstairs. “I entrusted the company to you, and this is how you’ve managed it?”

Daphne had just entered the living room and overheard the conversation. She looked at Josephine and questioned, “Lewis is here?”

Josephine nodded in response.

When Daphne saw Josephine, she frowned and grew even more annoyed. She held her son and considered going upstairs, but she remembered Robert was still enraged. She paused and returned to the living room. She asked, “Where’s Seth? Is he here?”

Josephine trembled reflexively at the mention of that name. Images of the times he abused and humiliated her flashed back to her mind. She couldn’t imagine what sick means Seth might use against her if Lewis gave up on locating her. 2 Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Daphne grew even more suspicious after witnessing Josephine’s reaction. Why would she react so strongly to Seth’s name if they did not cross paths and had nothing to do with each other? Daphne was already suspicious when Seth did not return for the past few days. Seeing

Josephine’s reaction now made her alert.

“What’s wrong, Josephine? Seth has not returned home for a few days now. Do you know where he is?” Daphne walked over and sat beside her.

Josephine’s face turned pale, her anxiety evident as she tightly gripped the couch, causing her fingers to turn white. She continuously shook her head, suggesting that she didn’t know

anything.

Daphne’s rage continued to build to the point where her expression became distorted, nearly hideous. She questioned, “You really don’t know?”

Josephine shook her head again.

Daphne glared at Josephine’s face, but she suddenly thought of something, and her expression suddenly changed. She held her child in front of Josephine and said, “Josephine, look at Bambam. Hasn’t he grown bigger?”

Josephine turned her attention to the baby, who was cooing and drooling in Daphne’s arms. She could see the baby’s small teeth growing in his mouth. Her hand subconsciously landed on

her own flat stomach, filling her heart with a terrible sensation of emptiness.

“I’m telling you, he’s become quite mischievous lately. Even when he’s asleep, he simply won’t stay still and constantly kicks off his blanket. Moreover, he adamantly refuses to drink. his formula. Every time I try, he spits it right back out. I was worried he might be sick, but when I took him to the doctor, they assured me that he simply didn’t want to drink the formula. Can you believe it?”

Daphine pretended to be unaware of the impact of her remarks and continued, “You’re so lucky. You don’t have to be concerned about having a baby and all the complications that come with it. I feel like I’ve aged ten years since I had Bambam. Look at the wrinkles on my face.”

Josephine slowly shifted her gaze back to Daphne’s face. She was now beaming with a smile, and her eyes were filled with malice and provocation. There were no wrinkles on her face, just a disgusting expression.

“What’s wrong, Josephine? Why are you looking at me like that? Do you not like children? Well, I suppose having a child is troublesome. Lewis doesn’t like children either,” Daphne added.

Josephine clenched her fists and trembled as she glared at Daphne’s face, which concealed at wicked smile. Daphne deliberately dragged out her words and asked, “Josephine, can you still get pregnant?”

After speaking, she saw Josephine’s pale face and burst into laughter. She leaned in and whispered to Josephine, “Do you dream about your dead children at night? Did they come to claim your life?”

“Smack!” A crisp slap sounded in the living room, and the air became silent.

There was a burning sensation on Josephine’s palm, and her hand hung trembling at her side. A handprint appeared on Daphne’s face. She looked at Josephine incredulously as anger rose in her eyes uncontrollably. Daphne gritted her teeth and said, “You dare hit me?”

Josephine tightened her fists and stood up abruptly, glaring at Daphne.

The smile on Daphne’s face disappeared, and she stared at Josephine with stormy eyes. It was as if she wanted to tear her into pieces. She had always been the one who bullied the mute, and the mute had never dared to lay a hand on her.

Daphne placed her child in the crib and stood up. She smirked coldly and said, “Did I hit a rough spot? Josephine, it serves you right that you can’t have a child. I tell you, even if you get pregnant, the fetus will eventually die in your belly. It will be another dead child. You know you cannot give birth to a child, yet you get yourself knocked up. Aren’t you the one to blame? Don’t you count as a murderer? Josephine, you’ll go to hell at this rate. Your children will be waiting there for you…”

Before Daphne could finish her sentence, Josephine pushed her violently.

“Ah!” Fortunately, there was a couch behind her, so Daphne collapsed onto it, causing her hair to become disheveled and messy.

“You cursed mute. Do you have a death wish?” Nancy’s voice came from behind. Josephine was startled, and just as she turned around, a slap landed on her face.

Josephine’s ears began to buzz, and she lost control of her body, tumbling uncontrollably. She ended up kneeling on the ground, with her upper body leaning against the couch. Her hair fell in disarray, obscuring her face. Overwhelmed, she blacked out, feeling as if the sky was spinning around her.

Nancy had used much force in her slap. Moreover, she just did her nails, so her sharp nails left long bloody scratches on Josephine’s face. Daphne felt some of her anger dissipate as she witnessed this. She stood up, walked toward Nancy, and expressed her grievance. “Mom, this mute is becoming extremely disrespectful with Lewis backing her up. I only asked her if Bambam was cute, but she slapped and pushed me!”

After hearing her words, Nancy turned to look at Daphne’s face and saw a red handprint on her face. She knew that Dapline was trying to provoke Josephine by asking her that question, but she never thought Josephine would hit Daphne. She said, “It seems that you’ve forgotten your place after staying out for too long. You’ve forgotten your manners.”

Nancy turned and said to the housekeeper beside her, “Take her away and teach her some manners!”

Mrs. Wolsey nodded and called two household staff to pick Josephine up from the ground.

Josephine’s head was still spinning, and her ears were buzzing. She did not have the strength to resist and was dragged away by the household staff. She was in a daze when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her knee and immediately came to her senses.

Josephine lowered her head and found herself kneeling on shattered glass. The glass shards cut through her jeans into her flesh. Blood stained her jeans. Instinctively, she tried to stand up, but the household staff exerted force on her shoulders and pushed her down again. The glass shards stabbed deeper into her knees.

When Lewis came out from the study, his face darkened when he did not see Josephine in the living room. He asked, “Where is she?”
