Yvette was shocked by the scene in front of her.
The first thought Kiki had was that Daphne must have some ulterior motive. "Daphne, what are you up to this time?"
Daphne ignored her and bowed toward Yvette, making a loud sound as her forehead hit the floor. "I was wrong. I shouldn't have pretended to save Madam Shannon and Tristan in your place, nor should I have targeted you. I'm sorry. I hope you forgive me."
Yvette didn't know why Daphne was doing this. From what she knew about Daphne, the latter would never bow to her unless she was desperate.
Meanwhile, Daphne was still on the ground, and her eyes had turned red. It wasn't from guilt; it was because of jealousy and anger.

After leaving, Daphne balled her fists tight. She walked up to a black Bentley. "Is that enough?" she growled.
The car window lowered, revealing Jackie's cold face. "Although you did it reluctantly, you have completed the task Mr. Lane gave you. I will report truthfully." After speaking, Jackie signaled for the driver to start the car.
However, Daphne stopped her. "I've never seen you before. Why are you with Xav? Where's Mark?"
Jackie remained calm, a cold smile
curling at the corner of her mouth
"This only proves that you aren't close to Mr. Lane. Otherwise, how could you not know of my existence?"
Daphne was at a loss for words.
Soon, the black Bentley sped away.
As Jackie sat in the car, she watched Daphne's unwilling expression in the rearview mirror and began to get lost in her thoughts.
Why had Jeremiah, someone who had never put himself in trouble for a stranger's sake, stood up for Yvette?
Back at Kiki's place, after Daphne left, Yvette also prepared to leave to talk to Yara and Terrence.
Kiki immediately stood up. "I'll go with you."
Zachary also said, "Mom, I want to go too."
"It's fine. I can go by myself." Yvette had already contacted Yara last night. She knew where to find them.
"But what if they do something to you?" Kiki asked.
"Don't worry. I'll have Ray accompany me just in case." Yvette remembered Claude saying that Ray could handle ten people alone, even when he was unarmed.
"Alright then." Kiki only felt relieved after hearing that Ray would be with Yvette. "You have to be careful."
She then pulled Zachary aside. "Zac, you have school tomorrow, so stay home today. It's too cold outside."
"Alright." Zachary agreed on the
