Chapter 87
Chapter 87
Kaley looked at the hand grabbing her wrist, her face a bit displeased. "Why didn't Izabella tell Brett about her bastard child?"
Brett hates betrayal the most, and if he knew that Izabella was carrying someone else's child, he would definitely be pissed off.
Kaley's clear eyes suddenly became murky, like a venomous snake lurking in the leaves.
Trista said, "Ms. Cornett, how can you prove that the child in Izabella's belly is a bastard?"
"Well..." Kaley hesitated. "She's hiding it from Brett and not telling him."
If she were pregnant, she would be eager to tell Brett, so how could she be so careful about concealing it, afraid of being discovered?
This behavior of Izabella's was very suspicious.
"Ms. Cornett, that doesn't prove anything. What if she doesn't want to tell President Windham because she's worried about miscarrying? By calling President Windham and telling him this, you might be doing her a favor."
Kaley fell into deep thought and began to calm down.
"So, what should I do?" She couldn't bear Izabella carrying Brett's child, just thinking about it made her want to go crazy!
Was she never going to stand next to Brett for the rest of her life?
Seeing Kaley calming down, Trista released her and thought for a moment before saying, "I do have an idea that will make her miscarry and get President Windham to dislike her. But it may require
your help a bit..."
"What is it?"
"President Windham is coming back for lunch today, and you should..." Trista whispered to Kaley.
Kaley's expression gradually became solemn, and she bit her lip. After Trista finished talking, she made up her mind.
Izabella was reading in the garden, feeling sleepy and nauseous due to her early pregnancy. The sunlight cast on her made her want to sleep. She found a comfortable position in the rocking chair with her eyes half-closed, her hand gently placed on her belly.
Suddenly, she felt a movement in her stomach, awakening her. She had only been pregnant for six weeks, and it was impossible for her to feel the baby moving.
But the feeling she just had was like the baby was kicking her. She touched her belly, her heart pounding, and a look of attachment came into her eyes.
Izabella checked the time, and it was just past eleven. She planned to have lunch outside and go to the orphanage to pick up the gifts the kids had sent her, as well as to see Ryker. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
She promised to buy Ryker some delicious food, but she didn't know what he liked to eat. What should she buy?
The scene of Ryker giving her a whole bag of cookies popped into her mind, and she couldn't help but smile, already having an idea.
Izabella stretched her stiff body, patted the fallen leaves off her shoulder, and went back to the villa with her book.
She went upstairs to change into a dress, put on some light makeup, and pulled her long hair up into a bun. Her lips were naturally pink without lipstick, so she only applied some lip balm.
Afraid of a similar incident happening again, Izabella poured some medicine into her bag before leaving with her keys.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Kaley standing on the stairs as if waiting for her.
Now when she saw Kaley, she wanted to avoid her. She didn’t even want to make eye contact.
But Kaley blocked her way in the middle of the stairs. "Izabella, why have you been throwing up lately?"
Izabella raised her cold eyes. "What's it to you?"
Kaley's gaze looked ambiguously at Izabella's belly and said softly, "I'm just worried about you. You look so uncomfortable. Do you need a doctor? What if you're pregnant?"
Izabella didn't know if Kaley's words were intentional or not, but she felt a chill down her spine after hearing them.
"Get out of my way."
Kaley didn't move but stepped closer to Izabella, staring sharply at her facial expression. Izabella's subtle stiffness didn't escape Kaley's eyes.
So nervous? Kaley was more and more convinced that the child in Izabella's belly was not Brett's.
Whether it was or not, that child couldn't stay, destined to be a stepping stone for Kaley.
"Izabella, you're really despicable, aren't you?" said Kaley. "I already told you how your father died. How could you still be with the murderer?"
The topic changed so quickly that Izabella was caught off guard. She had no choice but to be on the alert to Kaley.
"You mean Brett?" said Izabella with a laugh. "Why should I believe you, a home wrecker, over my husband? Kaley, I wanted to let you be with Brett before, but now it seems that I'd rather keep my position just to make you feel sick. As long as I'm here, you'll always be a secret lover."
Kaley's facade was cracking, and she glared furiously at Izabella, clenching her hand tightly. "You..."
Izabella smirked, a defiant smile hanging on her lips. "What about me? If you're unhappy, you can go kill yourself. But let me tell you beforehand that cutting your wrists won't work, as I'm not giving you even one drop of blood if you lose too much. Your death won't have anything to do with me."
"You've been behaving yourself lately. Keep it up, and you'll continue to be the lover." Izabella threatened. "Don't make me reveal what happened four years ago."
Four years ago, she offered Kaley a huge amount of money to make a choice. Kaley took the money and pretend to agree to leave, but actually created a car accident to frame Izabella.
Unexpectedly, the fabricated accident turned into a real one, and Kaley was in danger due to excessive blood loss. Brett asked her to donate blood to Kaley, promising anything she wanted, so she asked for marriage.
After they got married, Kaley was still unconscious in the hospital. Izabella had a hunch that something was wrong, so she found out the truth and got a hold of Kaley's dirty deeds.
Kaley tended to get carried away when she's feeling good, but now hearing Izabella's reminder, her anger turned into panic in a flash. Her face turned pale, and she's forced to take a step back.
Izabella's pregnant, and the easily irritated Kaley still provoked her foolishly.
Seeing Kaley like this, Izabella chuckled coldly, mocking, "Kaley, by now, you should know that it's not that I can't let go of Brett, but it's Brett who can't let go of me. He doesn't want to divorce me, so even if I tried my hardest, it's no use. Oh, and he even told me before that he never slept with you. Looks like your charm ain't all that, huh?"
