You’ll be okay
Marco then looked at Letta, who was now just sitting quietly staring out of her room window. Letta had been sitting like that for an hour, refusing to eat, speak, or show any other expression when Marco approached her. Since she was found in the small room that had once been a bad memory for her, Letta’s condition had worsened, leaving Marco unsure of what else to do for his wife. Marco was thrown back to the events a few days ago, when Letta had just woken up.
Three days earlier,
When Letta was found unconscious, the doctor began examining her and said that her condition was deteriorating. Her body temperature was rising, her face was pale, and her blood pressure indicated that Letta needed to be taken to the hospital immediately. However, Marco asked the doctor to treat her at home. Marco would do anything as long as Letta didn’t go back to that medicinally scented room again. Marco looked at Letta, who was still unconscious, her hands even feeling cold. Marco didn’t know if his wife could handle an incident like this.
Until finally, Marco was slightly startled when Letta suddenly opened her eyes wide, looking at Marco with a frightened expression. This made Marco immediately help Letta sit up.
“Where am I?” Letta asked at that moment.
“Calm down, sweetheart, you’re currently in our room. How do you feel? Do you feel any pain in your body?” Marco asked, causing Letta to shake her head again. Letta then gripped the clothes Marco was wearing at the time.
“Save,” Letta said with a fearful expression, making Marco look at the doctor, who also had a puzzled look on his face.
“I beg you, save me. I… no… she’s trapped… that small room… she looks so frightened… she’s tormented. Please get her out and don’t hurt me,” Letta said, making Marco shake his head, not understanding what his wife meant.
“Calm down, you’re safe now. No one will hurt you. You’ll always be under my protection. I will always take care of you,” Marco said, cupping Letta’s face, who was now shedding tears, her body trembling.
“Calm down, the doctor will examine you. You can relax, alright?” Marco said again, making Letta look at the doctor.
“Don’t let her get close. She will take away all my happiness. That doctor was ordered to harm me,” Letta said, making the doctor’s movements stop, as did Marco, who immediately shook his head.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“No, I called that doctor. He will examine and treat you, so calm down,” Marco said again, but Letta shook her head.
“No, don’t let him touch me. He will hurt me,” Letta said again with all her might, leaving Marco silent, as did the doctor. Marco then looked at Desi, who also looked shocked by the condition of her mistress, ordering the doctor to be taken to another room. Marco would calm Letta down first before meeting the doctor. Right now, in that room, there was only Letta and himself.
“Calm down, there’s only the two of us in this room. Tell me what happened and what you saw?” Marco said again, making Letta immediately look at her husband.
“Someone imprisoned her in that small room. She looked in pain, she was also devastated. Why would someone be so cruel to her?” Letta said, making Marco furrow his brow.
“I could even feel the suffocating feeling inside that room. But there’s someone who lets her suffer like that. What should I do?” Letta asked while gripping the clothes Marco was wearing.
“Who do you mean and who was cruel to her?” Marco asked again, making Letta shake her head. Her breath was racing, making Marco finally look at the glass of water on the nightstand.
“Drink some water first and calm yourself. We can talk calmly, and we will help her, okay?” Marco said, making Letta nod. Marco immediately gave his wife some water, then allowed them to normalize their breathing.
“So, calm down. You’ll be okay. She won’t feel any pain either,” Marco said, trying to persuade his wife. Then he waited until Letta felt a little calmer before gently caressing her face.
“Tell me what actually happened?” Marco asked again, making Letta fall silent as if she was reliving everything she saw in that small room.
“I saw her in the bathroom. There were many bruises all over her body. She looked fragile too. She cried in pain, she groaned but no one helped her. She was trapped in that small room, as if she was isolated from the outside world. Even the sunlight seemed reluctant to enter. She had no one to confide in, and I could feel all the pain she felt at that moment,” Letta said, making Marco silent again. Marco seemed to see Letta telling her own story from the past.
“Then what happened to her?” Marco asked again.
“She was going to end her own life. She couldn’t bear the pain anymore. How could someone be so cruel? How could they confine her in a room like that?” Letta’s words made Marco certain that his wife didn’t understand what she was saying. Letta seemed to be in her own world with what she had just witnessed.
“Didn’t I tell you never to go to that back hallway? It’s too dark for you to visit,” Marco said.
“And there, the woman is locked up. I felt myself locked in there. I felt her pain, Marco. Who could have been so heartless to hurt me like this? And where were you, why didn’t you help me?” Letta finally asked, trying to shake Marco’s shoulder, making Marco once again fall silent.
“None of that ever happened. It was just your hallucination. No one ever felt hurt or locked in that small room. It was just a storage room and a room that had never been occupied by anyone. It was just an empty space. That’s why I locked it,” Marco said again, making Letta shake her head.
“But I felt like I was the one locked in there. Actually, what happened to me? Isaw myself there. It was me,” Letta said, looking hysterical again, making Marco try to calm her down.
“Okay, okay. So, what should I do? What do you want with that place? What do you want with that woman?” Marco asked again, trying to follow the narrative that Letta was currently presenting.
“Who is the person who was so heartless to hurt me like that? Who was so cruel to hurt her? Even people never came close to help her even a little bit. What mistake did she make to have to experience a life that feels like death?” Letta said, making Marco fall silent, before Letta truly looked at her husband.
“Where were you when I felt the pain? Where were you when I was trapped in that pain? Where is the Marco who now embraces me warmly? Where is the Marco who promised to protect me? I’m sure it wasn’t a hallucination. I’m sure it happened to me because the pain feels so real. Even the pain I feel now makes my breath feel tight. What actually happened to me? Have Ilost my mind now? Am I suddenly crazy because I want to regain my memory?” Letta asked again, crying, as if she couldn’t control her memories. As if Letta was possessed by someone else in her body. As if she had two thoughts, two personalities, and two people within her. Yet it was her memory slowly reminding her of the dark past she had experienced.
