The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2789

Chapter 2789

“Or maybe you’ve already given your heart away to someone else. Who is she, huh? I want to see who this woman is that’s caught your eye, who stole my childhood sweetheart away from me! Spill it-”

Dahlia was gripping Nolan’s collar, her eyes bloodshot with anger, and he knew all too well that she was on the edge again.” This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

“You’re not well, Dahlia. Go home, take your meds, and let’s not waste any more time here. Can you do that for me, just to save face? Let’s not have a scene, okay?”

Nolan cast a quick, anxious glance toward the door. He didn’t want to cause a spectacle, especially since Regina was waiting for him somewhere in the building.

“Ha, I knew it! You’ve fallen for someone else! Is it Regina? You’ve never stuck up for any girl like this before! What’s so special about her? What do you even like about her? Nolan, have you really forgotten all the good times we shared?”

“Dahlia, please don’t push me. Sure, we have had some happy memories, but they’re gone now. Don’t be irrational.”

Nolan was visibly irritated.

“You never used to talk to me like this. Is it because of Regina? I know you’ve fallen for another woman. Your heart’s racing for Regina, and that’s why you’re so impatient with me. How could you be so heartless?”

Nolan’s frown deepened, and in a fit of desperation, he blurted out, “Yes, I’ve fallen for Regina. I’ve moved on. Can you just let me be=”

“Ms. Tanner, Mr. Harris is currently seeing a guest, please wait a moment.”

Hearing the commotion inside, Regina asked with a hint of concern, “Who’s that in there? It’s quite noisy. Is everything okay?”

Lucy was conflicted. She knew this was their boss’s private affair. But the argument inside was so intense, she wasn’t sure if she should check on them.

Torn, especially under Regina’s persistent probing, she finally mustered the courage to open the door.

The moment the door swung open, she caught Nolan’s confession and instinctively glanced at Regina, only to see her standing there, completely stunned.

Silence fell over the room.

Nolan was caught between a rock and a hard place. He had only meant to brush off the confrontation, but now the very subject of their dispute was standing at his office door.

With her cheeks flushing red and Dahlia glaring daggers at her, even someone as slow on the uptake as Regina realized what the fight was about. She scratched her cheek awkwardly and said, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop. If you need to talk things out, I can step out…”

“Stand right there! Where do you think you’re going?”

Seeing Regina again seemed to rein Dahlia in. She adopted a cool demeanor, crossed her arms, and sauntered over to Regina, scrutinizing her from head to toe.

“My, my, aren’t you the picture of innocence? Playing all these games and then acting like you’re the victim. Who are you trying to fool?”

Regina was taken aback by the hostility coming from Dahlia, and her own expression soured. “What are you trying to imply, Dahlia?”

“What am I implying? Ms. Tanner, we’re both women here, so stop feigning. Why else would you keep showing up around Nolan if not to…”

Nolan knew trouble was brewing the moment Dahlia started down that path. It was one thing for her to rant and rave in private, but making such accusations in front of Regina was downright insulting.
