Chapter 269 Go Back and Get Intimate Again

Ranita was so overwhelmed by the affectionate gesture that her hands and legs went soft. It took her a while to remember that the driver was still in the car. She buried her head in Brendon's chest and whispered, "There's someone in the car..."

Just then, the car came to a stop, reaching the apartment. Brendon opened the car door and whispered in her ear, "Let's continue when we get back."

Brendon, with his tall stature and long legs, led her into the apartment. Ranita nervously entered the password, her hands shaking so much that she entered it wrong twice.

"Hehe!" Brendon chuckled from behind.

"Why are you laughing?" Ranita retorted in annoyance. Suddenly, she felt arms wrapping around her, and Brendon, from behind, quickly entered the correct password.

With a few beeps, the door pushed her inside. Brendon stepped a bit closer from behind, hooked his foot to close the door, and pressed her against it to kiss her. Ranita's face turned even redder and hotter.

Ranita scorned herself inwardly. She felt she was being too provocative. In just a short while, the soles of her feet felt like they were on fire. Ranita was so engrossed in the kiss that she forgot to talk to Brendon about the child.

Brendon was particularly passionate, but overall gentle. Ranita fell asleep with a sweet heart.

Throughout the night, she didn't have any nightmares. As dawn broke, Ranita woke up due to the urge to use the bathroom. When she returned, she found Brendon already up, preparing breakfast.

"Why are you up so early?" Brendon came over, circling his arms around her.

The morning light fell on his back, and Ranita felt like she was in a dream, warm and cozy. If this were truly a dream, Ranita hoped it could last a little longer, a bit more, to delay her waking.

"You can't cook, and if you get hungry, just wake me up," Ranita used to be unable to cook, but after being challenged by Amiya at Boulderland Mansion, she learned everything. People, indeed, are forced to learn.

"I can manage a simple breakfast. Try it." Brendon cooked two eggs, toasted some bread, and heated milk. It was simple but looked nutritious.

Ranita ate contentedly. After breakfast, Brendon pulled out the luggage, saying he wanted to take her out. Ranita was a bit surprised; she thought Brendon was just saying it casually.

"Do you really want to go out? You're so busy with work..."

"With Caleb around, everything's okay," Brendon paused before continuing, "I haven't had a break in a while, so I thought we could take a couple of days off and go to the nearby resort."

"Are you not happy about it?"

Of course not! Ranita was thrilled! Brendon had been taking care of her like a different person these past few days. She was truly touched and knew that he cared for her too.

Brendon drove while she sat in the passenger seat, feeling like they were just two lovers on a road trip.

"If you're tired, take some rest. We'll be there in just over an hour."

Ranita had been sleeping more lately and dozed off after exchanging only a few words with Brendon. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Half asleep and half awake, she heard Brendon talking intermittently, "Dr. Daniels... hmm... she's doing alright these days. If I'm with her at night she sleeps better."

"That's good news," replied the other person on the line. "Recently I heard that you guys were considering divorce..."

"Nope, we're not planning to get divorced."

"That's great! Ms. Bowman has gone through so much recently; it would be best if you don't stress her out too much or else she might develop depression."

"... I know... she is my wife after all. I'll do my best."

Ranita listened dazedly as her heart suddenly felt empty inside.
