Julia's words were a bit ambiguous, but Ranita didn't suspect much. Over the years, she had become quite easygoing and her heart was not bad.

"Yeah!" Ranita nodded lightly. "Julia, go do your thing!"

The takeout was considerate - it was a light lotus root and lean meat porridge, along with a carefully prepared stew.

"I had Julia bring you some food. Did you receive it?" Brendon's message came at just the right time.

Ranita took a bite and then another one. The porridge tasted good, but unfortunately she couldn't taste anything besides bitterness.

Brendon probably only felt obligated to fulfill his last duty as her husband now.

Only she always held onto unrealistic fantasies.

"I received it. Thank you." Ranita replied to Brendon, tears rolling down her face when she lowered her eyes silently revealing the heart-wrenching pain within her soul.

Ranita didn't like crying.

In her life motto crying never solved any problems! She built a dam in her mind using strength as an outer wall to hide all of the weakness and helplessness away.

But now there was a hole in that dam.

She cried like someone who has lost everything they ever loved before.

Ranita found out about Shannon's news and Eve's cursing on the following day.

"Your husband is so outrageous! You're not even completely divorced yet he can't wait? Didn't he just come back from Qaesburg? And already made plans with her?"

"I really want to expose what happened between them online!"

...

There were several messages retracted below this one; those above probably weren't able to be taken back in time.

Shannon was known as the nation's sweetheart with high popularity online.

Just two days ago because of being harassed by a sasaeng fan went viral on hot search results; now another photo caused an uproar again.

In this photo Shannon wore a small white dress holding bright red roses while smiling brightly showing off pure beauty.

Twelve roses neither more nor less.

Twelve red roses represent all love.

This implied Brendon's feelings towards Shannon.

Ranita closed off the news feed and sent Eve a message, "You're sick. Rest well and don't get angry."

Eve replied instantly, "You blockhead! Who do you think I'm getting mad for? Isn't it all because of you?"

"Ranita, you're really something. If I were that stimulated, I would have ended Shannon with a knife!"

"She's being too flashy for someone who's just a mistress."

After venting her emotions, Eve retracted her words one by one. "Sorry Ranita, I shouldn't have brought her up."

"It's easier to find a two-legged man than a three-legged frog. Besides, I'm in the entertainment industry and there are plenty of handsome guys around. Once you get your divorce papers, I'll introduce you to a stepdad for your baby."

"Let's kick that scumbag Brendon out!"

Maybe she was still angry because Eve asked again, "Who doesn't act cute? Ranita darling, do you also act like that?"

Ranita smiled and felt better. She hugged her phone and giggled when she heard knocking on the door outside.

"Dylan, why did you come so early?" Ranita had slept well and looked better than yesterday.

"I brought chicken congee and bagels for you to eat quickly," Dylan said as he carefully examined her appearance. "You lost weight after going to Qaesburg."

Dylan didn't mention yesterday's incident but instead chattered about Eve at the hospital - how unreasonable she was and how she always bullied him (but he wasn't an easy target either).

As they laughed over their funny stories together, Ranita watched Dylan secretly smile.

How could this big fool not notice Eve's feelings towards him?
