Chapter 1769
In Pivotage, a strict rule dictated that only Christopher could take Yvonne out.
Yet Drew challenged the rule.
Only he had the guts.
Yvonne was startled at first, but when she looked up and saw Drew look ahead without hesitation, she threw caution to the wind and snuggled up in his embrace.
At that moment, it did not matter where they went. She just wanted to be with him.
"M-Mr. Iverson, Drew drove Ms. Smith out." Taylor was anxious.
He knew that Christopher saw Yvonne as Bella's inferior replacement. Often enough, Christopher would trample on Yvonne's dignity and use her as his pawn.
Still, no one could take Yvonne out of Pivotage.
Drew was getting on Christopher's last nerve.
"Take backup and go after them." Christopher panted heavily and bitterly as his rage built up. "Either way, get Yvonne back here."
A black Aston Martin raced in the dark of the night.
Drew wound down the car window, letting the breeze ruffle his messy locks. He had one hand on the wheel, driving carefreely.
However, Yvonne's head was spinning from the high-speed drive.
After getting into a hotel room, Yvonne raced to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet bowl.
Drew folded his arms and leaned against the door frame with a smile. "I don't think you can handle 3D and VR. Here I thought I found a partner to enjoy these games with."
"You sure have quite a hobby."
Yvonne drew close to the vanity sink and turned on the tap to rinse her mouth. After a splash of water on the face, Yvonne felt better.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
Drew narrowed his eyes on the woman's beautiful shoulder blades.
Her shoulder blades moved along to her movements like fluttering butterflies.
"Christopher's people were tailing us when I took you away from Pivotage. I got to pick up speed to shake them off our tail."
"Why did you come to Pivotage out of the blue?" Yvonne caught her breath and looked at Drew through the mirror as worry crept into her mind. "I know that you're a special agent. But accidents can happen. Don't underestimate Christopher. If he wants you dead, he'll find a million and one ways to kill you."
"I know. That's why he sent you, right?"
Drew raised a brow and teased her, "But according to my observation, you don't have much to show for other than your good looks and hot body." Yvonne lowered her head in a fluster.
Drew saw through her from the start, including why Christopher sent her to approach him.
"Why did you jump into the trap anyway?
"I just wanted to check on you." Drew's husky voice was a breath of fresh air.
"Nothing much is going on for me. I'm just there to serve my customers." Yvonne smiled bitterly and painted herself in the worst light possible, as if to stop herself from pining after Drew. "I'm just a dignified prostitute."
Silence ensued.
Seconds later, she heard approaching footsteps.
"I don't mind that."
Drew tilted his head and drew close to her ear, his voice tainted with restrained affection. "I am just afraid Christopher would make things hard for you."
