The Day I Kissed An Older Man

Chapter 2732

"So, Sherman, will I ever get to see you get married in this lifetime? What's the point of sitting in your office every day, earning all that money? The money you've earned can last you several lifetimes, so you should spend some time getting your marriage in order."

Sherman continued to eat his meal leisurely. He had a busy day at work and looked forward to coming home for dinner. He did not at all expect to receive so much nagging. However, he felt fortunate to have so many cared about him. After all, not everyone could count themselves so lucky.

"Grandpa, please don't say that. You're definitely going to live a long life," replied Sherman calmly.

Simona, his mother, also chimed in. "Yes, Roger, you shouldn't say things like that just because you want to see Sherman get married. Both you and Chelsea are going to live long lives. As for you, Sherman, I'm not in a hurry to see you get married. I just hope you can spend more time on yourself rather than dealing with those contracts every day.

"Is making money really that enjoyable to you? Look at your father; he can spend the whole night with just a book. And you, you're just like him. You can spend a whole day reading contracts. That's not good." Simona was indirectly mocking her husband. "Believe me when I say, we all just hope you can spend more time on yourself. There'll never come a day when you feel like you've earned enough." Sherman nodded. "Mom, that's enough. I understand where you're all coming from, and I'll make sure to take some time off for myself. So stop worrying."

He pulled out a tissue to wipe his mouth.

Immediately, his grandfather's eyes widened. "Don't tell me you're done eating? Why, you only had a little! When I was your age, I could finish three bowls of pasta in one go!"

His grandmother nodded along, indicating that what his grandfather said was right.

"Grandpa, yours is a different

generation. Things have changed. If

I eat three bowls of pasta, you should ask me where I've been causing trouble to end up so hungry. Anyway, you all stay home and rest.

I still have some work to do at the

office. I'll try to finished come

back as soon as possible."

Simona stood up and escorted him to the door. "You should spend more time on yourself. You've been coming home less often lately. Both your grandpa and grandma miss you a lot." She said the last sentence quietly.

Sherman nodded in understanding. 'I'm really busy with several major deals lately, but I'll be wrapping them up soon. Then I'll have some free time, so I thought I'd come home to stay for a bit." "Alright. I know you're a good son. Drive safely, you hear?"Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

"Yup." Sherman hugged his mother before leaving.

Once seated in the driver's seat, he sighed. He could not help but feel

lonely at times. He had been striving alone for so many years. It was like he did not wish to have

someone by his side, but the woman he wanted so badly had betrayed

him harshly, causing him to give up

on love.

He could not understand those who sacrificed so much for love. They looked downright foolish to him. It seemed better to keep everyone at a distance, but despite his desire to let go, someone still clung to him.

"Sir, there's a problem with the subcontracting deal in the suburbs. Someone filed a case against the company, saying we forcibly took their land," the manager informed Sherman as soon as he returned to the company.

Sherman frowned as he received the file. "Didn't we investigate thoroughly before taking over that deal?"

The manager followed after him as he briefed him on the way.
