Chapter 404
Chapter 404
"No one bullies my dad!" A cute yet fierce voice echoed.
Emerson turned his head to find the source of the voice. It was little Callum!
Callum approached Emerson and pushed him playfully, staring at him with what he believed was a
"fierce" expression.
"I didn't bully your dad." Emerson found this amusing and annoying at the same time as he faced
Callum.
"Dad, did he not bully you?" Callum turned to his father and asked with concern.
"No, my good boy." Ronan gave Emerson a triumphant look that said, "Look, someone cares about
me."
"Who do you think your dad is? The richest man in Millstone bullies others, not the other way around. If
anyone dared to bully him, he'd take them down hard!" Emerson muttered and walked away.
Callum blinked his eyes, pondering over these words. However, he wasn't able to reach a conclusion.
"Dad, is what he said true?" Callum asked Ronan.
"Well, you'll have to judge for yourself when you grow up."
"What does he mean by 'richest man?'" Callum asked again.
Ronan thought his son was too young to understand the concepts of wealth and money. He said,
"When Cooper said your dad is the richest man, he meant your dad loves to read books and is very
knowledgeable, therefore, he is 'rich' in a different way."
Callum seemed to understand and nodded his head.
"Then I want to be the 'richest man' too," Callum declared.
"Then you'll have to study hard," Ronan said, patting his son's head.

After deciding to invest in Birchwood, Ronan and Emerson prepared to visit the place.
This time, Ronan didn't bring Callum along. It was their first visit, and having a child would be
inconvenient. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
This ruined Janice's plans. She had thought if Mr. Evans went to Birchwood, she would also get to go.
After all, Callum would need someone to look after him. She had planned to use this opportunity to
send some gifts to her son. She bought a pair of basketball shoes, a basketball kit, and some other
miscellaneous items.
"Mr. Evans, could you please do me a favor?" Janice asked the day before Ronan's departure.
"What is it?"
"You mentioned before that you were going to Birchwood. I bought some stuff for my son, thinking I
could deliver it to him myself. But now I can't go. Could you take it for me? If you're too busy, it's
alright." Janice knew that Ronan was not taking Callum this time because they planned to make a
round trip in a day, which could be tiring for a child.
"Sure, Birchwood isn't big, I should have time. Put the stuff in the car. If not this time, there will be other
times."
"Okay, thank you so much," Janice said. "There's no rush."
Afterward, Janice put the items in the trunk.
This time, a chauffeur was driving, while Ronan and Emerson sat in the back.
They planned to make a round trip in a day, as there was a bidding event in their company the next
day, which Ronan had to attend.
"Are you planning to buy a house in Birchwood if the project goes through?" Emerson asked Ronan. "I
know you only have your grandpa's house in Birchwood. After graduation, you started your business in
Millstone."
"I haven't thought that far. If we can't make it back today, we'll stay at my grandpa's house."
"You're really good at saving company money. You won't even claim a small amount for travel
expenses!" Emerson commented.
Ronan and Emerson had a busy day.
Both Empower Operations and Shenda attached great importance to their collaboration with Ronan.
They put a lot of effort into their presentations.
Especially when they knew that Mr. Evans from Lumos Enterprises was here for an inspection, they
dared not slack off. By the time the inspection was over, it was past seven in the evening.
Ronan and Emerson went to the Golden Deer Hotel for dinner.
Suddenly, Ronan remembered the shoes he promised to deliver for Janice's son. He asked Janice for
her son's phone number to call him.
Janice sent a message to Ronan on Messenger. [Harold, xxxxxxxx.]
