The CEO’s Hidden Love Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires

Chapter 1499

Between Felicity and Miles, there was laughter, emotion, and mutual concern, but love was noticeably absent.

It was nothing like a typical romantic relationship.

To anyone observing, Miles would seem like the perfect catch.

He was wealthy, handsome, capable, considerate, understanding, and respectful-a veritable model husband material.

But apologies to him, she yearned for love.

If she wasn't marrying for love, she was perfectly content with remaining single forever.

"Sorry, I really should have flown out to Anglonia to see you."

"Hey, no sorries here! I told you, that night was all on me. You were definitely the victim! And last night, that was all me again, nothing to do with you. If anyone should be apologizing, it's not you." Felicity forced a smile, even making an effort to reach up and pat his shoulder. "I'm only back in town for a bit. I'll be gone before you know it! Just pretend none of this ever happened and go back to your life."

After all, he managed to live his life in order over the past five years without being affected.

So, she believed he would be able to continue on after she left.

After voicing all her thoughts, Felicity felt a considerable weight lift off her shoulders.

Her eyes twinkled as she clapped her hands together, "Oh, right! And don't worry about last night... I'll take care of the morning-after pill myself." The last thing Felicity wanted was an unplanned pregnancy!

...

When Calvin saw her again, it was already the afternoon.

He had thrown on a T-shirt and shorts when Felicity called, and quickly made his way down from his hotel.

"Come on, princess! Ghosting me after my confession? Couldn't even pick up the phone or text back. I almost thought you had skipped town!" "...Overslept, didn't see them."

"Are you sure you were asleep and not knocked out cold?"

Felicity glared at him, "I could knock you out cold right now, you believe that?"

Calvin just shrugged, "I believe it! This is Eldorria City, your turf. I'd believe anything you say."

She huffed and began scrolling on her phone for fun places to check out in Eldorria City.

Calvin, with his keen eyes, noticed something off about her foot.

"What's up with your foot?"

"Ah? Twisted it."

"To twist your ankle in flats, I'm impressed," he teased, though he was already crouching down examine her ankle, "It's swollen."

"Yeah."

Calvin frowned slightly, "Forget about finding some place fun. You're swollen like that, you need to head home."

Felicity waved him off, "It's fine. I'm not dying. You came all this way to Eldorria City, and I left you in the hotel all day yesterday. Can't do that again today! How about the zoo? The brochure says they have monkeys, super cute!"

"If you're dying to see a monkey, I can put on a show. Let's skip the zoo."

With a sigh, Calvin stood in front of her, turning his back and bending slightly, "Hop on, I'll carry you."

Felicity hastily waved her hands, "No, no! Really, I said it doesn't hurt. Why would I lie?"

"C'mon, hop on. Once your ankle's better, we'll go wherever you want!"

Looking at Calvin's broad shoulders and his concerned voice, she let out a sigh. "Calvin, you should really go find someone else. You can't handle me."

"Don't let my laid-back attitude fool you; I'm actually quite a handful.& don't know if your confession was serious or not, but either way, you should stop thinking about me."
