The CEO Gets What He Wants

Chapter 63

Chapter 63

There were no women in the world who wouldn't like that kind of confession.

Ever since the beginning of their relationship, all Avery wanted was a sense of security and being cared for.

She knew Cayden was the scion of a rich family, so the woman who could marry him was the one who could match his prestigious status and family.

Sadly, she didn't possess a family background like that.

Therefore, their romantic relationship was bound to be doomed from the start.

If the confession had come a few years early, all that Cayden would've gotten was a breakup. That was because he still wouldn't have his independence yet, and he would be forced to listen to what his parents wanted for him. There would be too many people interfering with his relationship, and there were too many unknowable variables.

If that was the case, both of them would only be hurt in the end should they continue to love each other.

Perhaps they could continue their relationship in secret, but that kind of exhausting love wouldn't last forever.

Even if their love was intense at the start, it would eventually be ground into nothingness by the harsh reality. They would still be forced to leave each other's lives in the end.

Both of them would've left scarred, with nowhere and no one to turn to. Even crying wouldn't make

them feel better.

The Cayden at present was different from his previous self.

He became a mature and steady man who was capable of handling Trident Group all by himself. Because of that, he could do whatever he wanted in any setting in front of anyone. His family ended up relying on him and not the other way round.

Therefore, he had gained the absolute right to choose a partner he wished to spend the rest of his days with.

“Thank you...” Avery wasn't sure why she was saying that.

Then she kissed him back in a rather awkward and clumsy manner.

Tears streamed down her cheeks.

When Cayden tasted the saltiness of her tears, he opened his yearning eyes and lowered his head to gaze at her.

Avery still didn't have the guts to look straight at him.

Her delicate chin was lifted by him, and she was forced to meet his dominating and invading look.

Her heart throbbed. Once she had gotten used to the darkness inside the room, she could clearly see the look of victory in his eyes. Cayden's well-built body and intense charm would make any woman salivate at the sight of him.

The attractive man kissed her cheek and asked, “Why are you crying?”

Avery's teary eyes shimmered as she shook her head. “I just can't believe that you like someone like me.”

Due to her low self-esteem, she felt as though her happiness came too suddenly, and that it was just a dream she would wake up from. In reality, she knew it was real, but she was still afraid it would be a dream, one that she didn't know she was in.

If it was a dream, she didn't want to wake up. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

She wouldn't regret it even if she died in a good dream as such.

Cayden kissed her again, but his kiss was much fiercer and dominating compared to the previous one. He wanted her to know that he was really there with her. His soul had been ignited by her, and it burned just as brightly as before.

His passion never once faded away.

His kiss lasted for a long time, and he didn't stop until Avery was shaking her head with soft gasps.

She couldn't hold her breath any longer.

He was concerned he was scaring her, so after he gently ended the kiss, he licked her seductive lips, which he tortured, comfortingly.

Afterward, they descended the stairs together one after another.

Avery was worried, so she asked him to leave ten minutes after she did so to prevent people from gossiping.

Cayden wanted their relationship to go public instead of hiding it from other people, but he understood her concerns. To avoid causing trouble in her life, he had no choice but to go along with her wishes for the time being.

After Avery descended the stairs, she bade Hollie and Nephele goodbye. She also bade goodbye to a few students she had just gotten to know earlier on before leaving the mansion.

“Do you really not need me to send you home? Aren't you afraid that there'll be a big bad wolf kidnapping you on the way back, little bunny?” Nephele teased when she sent Avery out.

Avery stayed silent.

“Ah, I see. Okay, I get it...” Nephele arched her eyebrows and joked on purpose.

Avery started to feel awkward as her cheeks turned pink. Nephele must've guessed what was going on.

Cayden was standing on the mansion's second floor as he watched Avery leave. His eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the passage of time on his watch.

After ten minutes had passed, he went downstairs.

He first bade goodbye to Hollie before arranging for his driver to send her home.

Once that was done, he went to drive his car.

A woman was eager to try approaching him. She wanted to greet him as he was leaving so that she could get to know him a little. Perhaps they could even shake hands or exchange personal contacts.

However, Cayden's expression was so cold that she didn't have the guts to do so.

His Land Rover soon left the mansion.

Avery, who was waiting tens of meters away from the mansion, saw the car approaching her.

Cayden stopped the car and got out of the car to open the car door for her.

“I can do it myself.” Avery still wasn't used to his attentive care.

He personally opened the car door and helped her in.

His hand pressed on her waist, as he was afraid she would accidentally bump into the car. It was as though he was taking care of a little girl.

Once she was seated, she looked at him.

Cayden was standing outside of the car with his tall, slender legs. His figure was flawless as he stood suavely. His hand held the back of her head before he kissed her lips.

He can do it like that too, huh?

Avery closed her eyes, not refusing his advance.

Once the kiss was over, he walked around the car and headed to the driver's seat. He opened the car door, sat inside, and fastened his seatbelt. One of his hands held the steering wheel while his other hand gripped her small hand as he drove.

They didn't say a word to each other on the way back.

Sensing the warmth coming from his palm, Avery felt her heart warming up.

While they were waiting for the traffic light to turn green, Avery's eyes were fixed on the road ahead. I wonder what we are now.

Avery let out a sigh of relief when they finally arrived at the residential area.

Cayden drove into the residential area and parked his car in front of the building where she was staying. It was really obvious that he wanted to live in the same place as her. For every second that he wasn't physically with her, he felt as though he was being tortured.

“I'll be heading up now. Drive safe when you're going back home, okay?” Avery reminded plainly.

“Don't go yet.” He had yet to loosen his grip on her hand.

The car was dimly lit because he didn't turn on the light. He was afraid it would make her feel embarrassed or shy.

Avery's heart was thumping. What does he mean by that? What is he going to do? I don't have any experience with this. When I was still with Zayne, this kind of situation never happened.

Suddenly, her phone rang, interrupting the moment.

“I-I need to take a call.” She had no choice but to pull her hand back.

Her face was already flushed.

Nina was looking down from the balcony. “I'm seeing a car on the ground floor, Ery. I can only see a bit of the person inside through the windshield. Are you the person inside the car? Does the car belong to your suitor? Is he stopping you from getting out of the car like a hooligan? I'll be there right away!”

“No need to come down! I'll go back now!” Avery swiftly bade Cayden goodbye once the call ended.

She opened the car door and hurriedly exited the car.

Inside the Moore residence, Zachary and Rory were sitting on the couch.

They were staring at their father, who had returned early and seemed to be in a great mood.

Cayden was sitting on the other end of the couch and sending Avery a message: Are you asleep yet?

“What are you doing, Daddy?” Zachary thought his father had been possessed. Why else would his father's face be displaying a gentle expression?

Is the sun going to rise from the west tomorrow?

Cayden ignored his son's question as he read Avery's reply: Not yet. How about you?

He quickly replied: Not yet.

Then, silence ensued.

There were no more incoming messages.

Avery became so shy that she couldn't type a word out.

Cayden just wanted to confirm their relationship immediately, so he texted her again: From today onward, I'm a man who'll become your husband at any time, as soon as you agree to marry me.

Once he finished typing, he sent the message with a serious and cautious expression.
