Phoebe pushed the bowl of ice cream a little and brought her phone in front of mia..

Mia’s eyes widened, did Ray run away again? Kyle only puts up the news on air whenever he did..

She snatched the phone from Phoebe and gazed upon it anxiously..

“This just came in, that the Anderson’s heir, Ray Anderson was taken away by an unknown lady from school grounds today and has been declared missing, Mr Kyle Anderson has promised a reward…..

Mia dropped the phone on the table and picked her purse..

“Something isn’t right!” she murmured and dashed out..

Phoebe picked her phone and purse, and also ran after Mia..

Ray who was watching a kids show with a bowl of popcorn by his side sat up when a breaking news interrupted his show..

He groaned out, he was about to change the channel when he saw himself on the news..

“Wait, that’s not right.. I’m right here” he murmured..

He dashed up to his room and took out the phone his dad gifted him Incase of emergencies..

It rang for a few seconds before it was answered “Ray! is that you?”

“Yes daddy, what’s going on? and why am I on the news?”

Kyle ran his hands through his hair and breathed a sigh of relief..

Arya noticed his expression, she turned to the policemen “I’ll be right back”

She walked hurriedly to him and stood before him “What’s up?”

Kyle stared down at her and took a step forward to her while she took a step back.. this went on till Arya’s back touched a car.

“Did you do this on purpose to get me worried?”

Arya’s eyes darted left and right to be sure he was talking to her..

“Me? what are you talking about?”

Kyle raised his phone a little “Ray just called, he’s currently at home”

Arya’s lips parted in disbelief, how was that even possible?

“What? I spoke to his teacher an hour ago and she told me that his mum came to pick him up”

Kyle narrowed his eyes down at her to see if she was telling the truth..

“You didn’t pick him up from school?”

Arya pushed him a little away from her, was he really confused or perhaps stupid?

“We need to go home and find out who this mum really is”..

Ray came down from the stairs gently to finish his show, he stopped on his tracks when a maid appeared before him..

“young master, your food has been served”

Ray reluctantly walked to the dining table, his face turned into a deep frown when his eyes scanned the table..

He stuck out his tongue and waved in denial “I guess I’ll have takeouts from Arya’s restaurant”

“No you won’t!” An angry voice replied..

Ray rolled his eyes when he heard her voice, she made soft clicks to him and forced a smile..

“Well I spent my time making lunch for you! you won’t have any takeouts”

“You can’t order me around, and I won’t have any of these yucky foods either!”

“Ray” Arya called out..

Ray hopped down from his seat and ran to her, he threw himself in her embrace..

Arya’s cold eyes rested on the lady in front of her ” You posed as Ray’s mum to take him off school grounds?”

Vanessa shrugged nonchalantly “it’s not my fault if they mistook me as his mum..”

Ray hid behind Arya “She forced me to go with her even if I didn’t want to do so.. and now she wants me to eat the food she made”

Vanessa folded her arm, how else was she supposed to get to Kyle if this brat wasn’t complying with her?

Vanessa smiled the moment she noticed Kyle’s presence..

“awwnn baby don’t say that.. I care about you a lot, why don’t you see that?” Vanessa cooed

“You liar!”

“Ray!” Kyle called out..

Vanessa smiled even more “Oh my you’re here also? I’m sorry for everything, I saw the news a while ago”

Arya’s hands itched to pull Vanessa’s hair really hard, how could Kyle be so blind to let her have her way in his house?

She understood quite well that they were childhood friends, but there is a limit to everything.

“Ray is safe and sound, that’s all that matters”

Arya cocked a brow at Kyle “Oh really? Ray was declared missing today all because of her, she could have given us a call if she wanted to pick him up from school”

“And why should I?” Vanessa asked..

Arya diverted her gaze back to Vanessa, she opened her mouth to speak but Vanessa beat her to it..

“Before you came around, I was the one who looked after Ray, don’t try to deprive me of that right”

“But now that I am here, I don’t think we need your help anymore especially not Ray, do yourself a favor and stay away from here”

Vanessa was about to retort back when Kyle cleared his throat..

“Vanessa what you did today shouldn’t repeat itself again and let me sound this to you one last time, don’t-you-ever-come to this house again!” Kyle stressed each words he said…

Vanessa fought back the urge to cry, if she couldn’t come here again then how was she going to make him fall for her..

“You really want to break our long years of friendship over this trivial issue? I mean look at her! you barely know her and you chose her over me to cater for your son?”

She choked back in tears and continued “you can punish me all you want Kyle, I don’t mind, I just want to be a part of your life.. I never asked for anything else other than that!”

Arya scoffed, this witch has devised a new trick to trap Kyle emotionally.. she had no problem whatsoever with that, but she should stay far away from Ray..

“You’re selfish Vanessa!”

“Selfish?! you’re the selfish one here.. little miss cook! don’t forget that you’re just Ray’s contracted mum and not a real lady of the house.. just keep your word hole shut!”

“Enough Vanessa! get out of here now!”

“I’ll leave first” Arya announced and took Ray along with her..

“Arya what does Vanessa mean by that?” Ray asked curiously..

Arya ruffled his hair a bit and flashed him a small smile..

“Forget it honey.. you know how mean she is”

Mia planted a kiss on Ray’s forehead, she was happy when she learnt the truth about his wellbeing and equally mad when she learnt who took him away from his school…

“I’m glad that you’re safe and sound”

Ray looked up to her with his large eyes “I’m a smart little kid aunt mia..”

Mia looked around his room and pulled him to herself..

“So was our plan a success?”

Ray nodded eagerly “Yes aunt!”

Mia cleared her throat and brought out three tickets from her purse..

“It’s the weekend tomorrow, and this here is three tickets to the amusement park”

Ray collected it with a smile “I’ve always wanted to go there with daddy but he’s always busy with work”

Mia pulled his chin up gently “Well guess who won’t say no to you anymore?”

Ray pouted his lips “I know Arya would eagerly accept to go with me.. but daddy won’t”

Mia kissed him on his forehead “That’s why you’re an Anderson sweetie.. You’ll find a way I trust you, promise me that” she added with a wink..

Ray looked up to her with a smile “Thanks aunt! I pinky promise”

Mia had a confused look on her face “What’s that?”

“Really? only Arya knows that” he said with a pout..

Later that night..

Arya sat in front of a mirror brushing her hair gently..

She noticed Kyle hasn’t returned back to the room ever since he left for the balcony..

She dropped the hair brush on the vanity table and walked silently to the curtains, she opened it gently and poked her head out a little…

Her heart ached when she saw him with a photo of the lady she assumed to be Ray’s mum..

While a bottle of half empty whiskey sat by his side..

“I miss you Soo… much”

Arya was about to leave when she striked her feet against the couch..

“Where are you off to?”
