Chapter 1675

"So, what's your plan now? Keep letting Alaric be in the dark, or are you going to spill the beans?" Thalassa couldn't believe it either. Alaric actually thought Hertha's baby was fathered by someone else.
The ball was in Hertha's court now.
"I'm really torn," Hertha admitted. "If I tell him, I'm scared he'll try to take my baby away. If I don't, it eats me up inside being misunderstood like this. What must he think of me, to jump to the conclusion that the baby is someone else's!"
Thinking about it got Hertha both angry and frustrated.
After all, Alaric was the man she had loved for so long.
The idea of her image being so tarnished in Alaric's eyes bothered her more than she wanted to admit, leaving her heartbroken.
"I get where you're coming from," Thalassa, having been through her fair share of troubles, could empathize with Hertha's situation. "Ugh, Thalassa, what should I do?" Hertha was at her wit's end.
"You could try talking to Alaric, see where he stands with Georgia right now," Thalassa suggested. "I mean, you can't keep this secret forever. Sooner or later, Alaric's going to find out he's the dad. Maybe now's the time to prepare for his reaction."
Hertha thought it over and realized she was right. She had been so focused on hiding the child, wanting to keep Alaric from finding out, but he'd ended up suspecting anyway.
And even though Alaric currently believed the child was with another man, the truth would come out eventually.
By then, she'd be on the defensive.
Thalassa's words were like a lightbulb moment for Hertha. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
She suddenly sat up straight on the couch, her mood lifted, and said to Thalassa, "You're the best, sis. I feel so much better after talking to you. I know what I need to do now. I won't keep you any longer. Love you, muah!"
After hanging up, Hertha got up and went straight to Alaric's place, knocking on his door.
It took a while before the door finally opened, revealing a worn-out Alaric.
His usually neat and handsome hair was a mess, looking like a bird's nest.
His strikingly beautiful face was marred by exhaustion.
Hertha was curious, "What happened to you, get mugged or something?"
Seeing her, Alaric was slightly
l
surprised, but her comment immediately irritated him. "Hertha, t in the mood for jokes!"

He tried to close the door, but Hertha quickly wedged her way in, saying assertively, "Go sit on the couch. We need to talk."
Hertha didn't wait to be invited, heading straight for the couch to sit down.
Alaric, scratching his head, reluctantly followed and flopped down onto the couch.
He looked at her lifelessly and said, "Spit it out."
He had already decided to give up on her, not wanting to drag things out any longer.
Hertha cleared her throat, trying to compose herself before getting t the point. "So, how are things with
you and Georgia now?" get
Alaric frowned, clearly annoyed. "What does that have to do with you anymore?"
"This is going nowhere if you're
going to be like that. I came here because I wanted to tell you that those two kids of mine..." Hertha was
about to reveal that he was the father of her twins.
But before she could finish, Alaric's phone rang, its melodious ringtone cutting her off.
