Chapter 16

Roxanne POV

I woke up smiling today was finally the day.

I would finally become 18 and figure out who my mate was.

I had prayed and prayed to the moon goddess that she'll let it be Aiden.

Sadly the way the whole thing worked was there was this magical candle I had to blow before I was

finally counted as 18.

So until I blew out the candle I would still be in the dark about who my mate was.

I decided to stop worrying and go take a shower.

I grabbed some casual clothes to put on before the party started.

As soon as I walked downstairs everyone was buzzing with excitement shouting happy birthday at me.

I thanked them politely sitting beside Aiden who smiled at me brightly.

"Can I give you my present now" He asked and I shook my head which caused him to frown.

"At the party" He asked and I nodded which caused him to smile.

I shook my head at him turning to glance at my mother.

She smiled "I can't believe my baby is finally an adult" She said pulling me into a hug.

I smiled hugging her back and then turning to my dad.

"What about you pops" I said and he smirked at me.

"Your still a little trouble maker" He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Thank you" I said sarcastically and he smiled.

"Your my little trouble maker though" He said and I smiled leaning to kiss him on my cheek.

"Yeah sis now you can do the freaky again with.." She began to say but quickly stopped once she

noticed my glare and my parents curious looks.

"I mean you don't have to be scared because you breaky mom's vase" She said causing Aiden and

Brayden to laugh at us.

Finally I stopped glaring at my sister and joined in on the laughter.

As much as I say I don't like my sister I love her to death and wouldn't know what to do without her.

"I love you Rachel" I said smiling at her and she smiled back.

"I love you too littles sis" She said ruffling my hair.

After my lovely breakfast with my family I had to go upstairs and relax until the party.

I had less than 2 hours to go until my party started.

The day was long and boring since I couldn't leave my room.

Soon my sister came up with the curling iron, her makeup, and my dress.

I smiled at her as she tried to get through the door quickly so I wouldn't see a thing.

She shrugged "Hell you could probably see through walls" She said and I laughed at her.

She finally got to work pulling and tugging at my hair getting the curling iron so close to my ear I held

my breath.

She finally finished admiring the work I couldn't see.

She made me turn away from the mirror so all I saw was my bed.

She then went to work on my face. Plucking and tampering with my eyebrows.

I felt my eyes water as she did this but as they say "Beauty is pain."

She had explained to me she wanted to go for the natural look so she had put some sparkly nude

eyeshadow on. Mascara to make my already long and full eyelashes to stand out. She decided a nice

pink lip gloss would look good on me.

Once finished she told me to get dressed without messing up my hair and makeup.

I put on my black and ivory colored dress that was knee length.

I put on some ivory heels, nothing too high or I world be spending the whole not sliding on my face.

"You can look in the mirror now," Rachel said.

I turned around and stared shocked at the girl that stood in front of me.

She was beautiful and I smiled to myself because that girl was me.

"You did an amazing job" I said to my sister who smirked.

"Trust me hon, I know I did" She said.

Soon we were able to go downstairs and everyone hugged me saying happy birthday.

I finally found Aiden sitting in the living room.

He looked so cute with his Polo and khakis.

He hadn't noticed me so I walked up towards him smiling.

"You can give me the present now" I said and he looked up at me shocked.

At first I thought it was a bad thing and started to walk away before he grabbed my wrist.

"You look beautiful..here" He said, handing me the square box which I took from him smiling.

I opened it revealing a charm bracelet. There were so many charms there. My favorite one was the

heart one with his name on it.

"I love it, this charm is my favorite," I said pointing at the heart and he smiled.

"Good because I just wanted you to know you had my heart" He said and I smiled.

"It's so sweet thank you" I said and he stood up quickly pecking my lips.

"Time to say happy birthday" My mom yelled from the kitchen.

He smiled at me "Go birthday girl" He said and I smiled back making it to the kitchen.

There was a huge crowd around the table and I didn't see Aiden.

Maybe he was stuck somewhere in the gigantic mess of people.

Everyone cheered as they finished the song.

It was like everything was in slow motion.

I bent down to blow out the candles and as soon as the flames died I received a new feeling.

A feeling so electrifying it got stronger the more I moved.

I needed to find my mate. I walked into the crowd and stood in front of a tall man.

The feeling was strong here but I don't think it was him. I looked up and glanced at the man "Uncle

Dan" I said and he sighed stepping to the side.

Revealing the person I was supposed to love and honor which shouldn't be hard.

I jumped into his arms smiling "I love you Aiden" I said. He smiled "I love you too" He said. With that he

pulled me into a kiss.
