TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

” The King of all Dark Genie’s name? Does he really have one? ” Axion couldn’t help but ask.

Glinda and Corbin we’re back from the library and had told Axion and Phoenix about their discovery. They were all having a discussion.

” For this book to mention something like it, then he definitely does have a name ” Glinda presumed.

” Erm… maybe his name is Lucifer, I mean that’s the common name for a Devil like him ” Corbin chipped in.

” I don’t think so. If his name was Lucifer then he wouldn’t be using the word ‘Devil’ all the time because it will be a lot easier for us to point out his real name ” Phoenix reasoned and they all nodded in approval.

” I think his name will be a simple one but it will be way more difficult for us to figure it out. Maybe we can try finding someone who knows his name or isn’t there? ” Axion demanded.

” I think Medusa might be the only person who knows his name. She is his most loyal worshipper after all and also his woman but you know her, she’d rather die than tell us ” Corbin scoffed but then an idea entered his head.

” Or maybe, we can trick her into saying the name ” They all frowned at him in confusion.

” How? ”

” Medusa might be powerful but she is naturally dumb. Getting her to say the name without realizing it, will be a piece of cake ”

” I was thinking, how about I and Axion visit her, make her believe we know the name and make her say it unaware ” He explained. Both Axion and Glinda beamed in acceptance.

” That is an amazing idea. If she believes that we know the name, she will become vulnerable and won’t be able to think straight anymore ” Axion added and they all nodded.

Well except from one person… Phoenix.

She was having a really bad feeling about Axion and Corbin going to see Medusa. It was a feeling that something might go wrong and they both will be in danger.

” I don’t think that’s a good idea ” She spoke up and they all turned to her with a slight frown.

” I’m having a bad feeling about you two going to meet Medusa. She might be dumb but not stupid. What if… you know, she has another plan like an ulterior motive? ” Axion chuckled and held her hand.

” Don’t worry about that, Phoenix, we will be on guard ” He assured but she wasn’t getting convinced.

” But…”

” Don’t you trust me? ” Axion stared intently into her eyes, flashing her a reassuring smile. Not having an option,

” I trust you… but I don’t trust Medusa ”

” Your trust in me is enough. Nothing bad will happen, ok? ” Deciding to ignore the bad feeling she was having, Phoenix nodded. But her heart won’t stop beating fast in fear. It was as if her instinct was warning her about something.

” Why am I having a bad feeling about this whole thing? ”

Medusa slowly surged down the bed letting out a slight groan. Her body was still aching so badly that she could barely move. She wasn’t in the cave anymore but in one of her paint house. She needed some time away from that Devil.

She was about to take a step forward when Axion entered her room. Seeing him she frowned. It’s been ages since they last saw each other.

” What are you doing here? ” She threw the question at him without hesitation. Axion rolled his eyes at her question.

” Why else will I be here if not to see you? ” He snorted.

” You suddenly came to me out of the blue after days of not seeing each other. Isn’t that suspicious? ” Axion couldn’t help but scoff. He forgot, she’s still Medusa after all.

” I’m actually here to introduce someone to you not to see you ” He hissed and she frowned.

” You can come in now ” Axion turned his gaze to the door and Medusa did the same.

With a proud smirk on his face, Corbin walked in elegantly, glaring at Medusa whose eyes widened in shock on seeing him.

While on their way here, Corbin told Axion about Medusa almost killing him and Glinda saving him. Axion wanted to believe him but he also couldn’t help but doubt him. He wasn’t ? convinced that he has changed for real.

” Co… r… bin ” Medusa shuddered, propelling the smirk on Corbin’s lips to widen to a grin.

” Hi, Medusa. Excited to see me? ”

Medusa stared down, confused as ever. How did he survive despite falling from such a high building? If not for one thing, the wound she gave him was enough to kill him so… how?

Seeing as both Axion and Corbin was grinning from ear to ear, she knew she was doomed. If they attack her now, they will be able to kill her easily cause her powers were still weak.

” What do you two want? ” She demanded, trying not to show her fear.

” Good thing you asked ” Axion scoffed.

” We just came to inform you, no actually… to warn you to be on the guard cause very soon you and that Master of your will be dead ” Corbin added and she laughed in mockery.

” What made you think you can kill the King of all Dark Genie? He is a King and a mere Genie like you can’t measure up to him ” She bragged confidently.

” A King who has a name and is scared of people knowing that name. Is that really a King? ” Axion raised a brow at her and the smirk on Medusa’s lips vanished.

” Did… you just… say… name? ” She stuttered.

” Of course. We know the name of that Devil and we also know… that it is his one weakness ”

” How is that possible? Nobody knows that his name is GASAFAAL, did I mistakenly tell any of them in any way? ” She mumbled inaudibly but Axion and Corbin heard it.

They glanced at each other with a wide grin before looking at Medusa.

” No but you just did ” Corbin revealed and that was when Medusa realized what she just said. She let out a gasp and covered her mouth.

” What have I done? What did I just say? No, no, no, I’m doomed… I’m doomed for life ” She trembled and hot tears rolled down her eyes.

” You know what? You are even dumber than I thought Medusa, com’on. I thought we were going to battle somehow before you finally say the name but you just blurted it out like an idiot ” Axion hissed with an eye roll.

An evil smirk can be seen creeping up Medusa’s lips and she slowly wiped her tears, looking up. She busted into a peal of laughter making the two brothers frown at her sudden laughter.

” Oh, Axion and Corbin. Are the both of you really this dumb? I mean I expected more ” She nodded pitifully.

” How about I tell you that you are the ones who have fallen… right… into my trap…” She grinned. Both Axion and Corbin’s eyes widened when a realization hit them.

But before they could do anything, someone struck a heavy long rod on their heads and they both lowered to the floor immediately.

The face of the person came to view and it was nine other than the Devil himself, grinning from ear to ear. He glanced at Medusa who was also grinning,

” Good job, Medusa… good job ”

Phoenix can be seen pacing to and fro in her room, rubbing her hands together to calm her nervous wrecking heart. Ever since Axion and Corbin left, she hasn’t been herself as the uneasiness she was feeling was getting stronger.

” Oh God, please don’t let anything happen to Axion and Corbin, please ” She silently prayed.

Well, her pacing was halted when,

” Phoenix ” The hoarse voice of the King of all Dark Genie boomed in the whole room making her look up.

” What are you doing here? ” Phoenix demanded, looking around for him.

” Oh, nothing really ” The voice laughed.

” I just wanted to enlighten you about the whereabouts of your lovely mate and his fearless elder brother ” Phoenix’s heart throbbed in fear that instant.

” What have you done to them? ” She sternly asked.

” Ahh, nothing really. Just teaching them a lesson for being so stupid that they thought that they could effortlessly figure out my name ”

Fear engulfed Phoenix and before she could say anything, she suddenly saw herself in a cave.

The King of all Dark Genie was on his throne with his usual, favorite cup in his hand. Looking over to the other side of the cave was Axion and Corbin tied to a huge rock with two sharp long spear positioned right on their foreheads. They were unconscious.

” Axion!! ” Phoenix exclaimed in shock and tried rushing to where he was but to her surprise, she couldn’t move.
