TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

” Don’t do it… please ” Axion pleaded but she wasn’t buying it. It’s high time someone teaches Medusa a lesson and she wants to be the one to do that. She needs to fucking show Medusa her place!

Seeing Phoenix wasn’t bulging in, Axion turned to Medusa.

” Keep Phoenix out of our personal matter, Medusa, and fight me instead. It’s me you want right? ”

” Shut up! ” Medusa snapped at him. Using her strong first, she struck Axion on his chest which paralyzed him instantly and he dropped to the floor.

” Axion! ” Phoenix and Glinda exclaimed with widened eyes.

” How dare you?! ” Phoenix roared and charged toward Medusa who jabbed her with a strong blow, sending her rolling to the floor, a whimper leaving her lips.

” Phoenix ” Axion called out faintly, struggling to get up. He needed to save his Phoenix, he can’t let her do this on her own.

Glinda rushed to Phoenix and reached out to help.

” No aunt. Stay out of this ” Phoenix muttered and stood up.

” This is between Medusa… and I ” She wiped the blood on her lips. Medusa couldn’t help but laugh.

” Bring it on Phoenix ” She grinned.

Phoenix rushed to her, gathering her power of fire and directing it all to Medusa who crossed her arm and wedged it. She sent it back to Phoenix and it threw her away. She bashed to the door with her back and dropped to the floor, letting out a wail.

” Phoenix, no! Please stop! ” Axion tried standing but his legs failed him.

Phoenix panted heavily, getting back up. Medusa immediately appeared behind her, using her claws to give five stretched marks on her back before jabbing her and she crouched to the floor beside Axion whose eyes widened in horror.

” Phoenix! ” Tears flooded his eyes and he managed to crawl up to her, helping her sit up. Seeing the blood which rolled down her back, a sharp pain pierced into his heart.

He cupped her face to look at him, her fiery eyes boring into his.

” Don’t fight her Phoenix, she’s too powerful, please ” He mumbled, caressing her face. Phoenix gently removed his hand from her face.

” I’m going to protect you Axion and if doing so means fighting her then, I’m doing it ” She muttered and stood up.

Glinda could no longer stay and watch Medusa hurt Phoenix. She positioned five arrows and sent them all to Medusa. The five arrows pierced into her back making her growl in pain and using that opportunity, Phoenix attacked, sending her a death kick which sent her flying and crashing to the wall.

But to their utmost shock, the arrows in Medusa’s body vanished and the wound healed up within sec. She stood up, laughing hysterically.

” Do you think I can easily be defeated?! ” She roared. Glinda quickly sent her five more arrows but she only halted them and sent them back with force. Before Glinda could duck, the arrows went straight into her chest and she dropped to the floor.

” Aunt Glinda! ” Phoenix and Axion yelled in shock.

That was it!

Phoenix clenched her fist as rage flowed through her like lava, the anger in her thrumming through her veins. Her eyes burned up like fire.

” Enough!!! ” She roared violently. The force which came with her roar swept Medusa off her feet and sent her crashing to the wall. Before she could get up, Phoenix was already before her. Seeing the anger in her eyes, Medusa gulped in fear.

” I have heard enough of your insanity! ” Phoenix breathed out and grabbed her hair, yanking her up.

” Phoenix, calm down, let’s resolve this peacefully ” Medusa’s lips trembled but Phoenix paid a deaf ear to her. She positioned her head and started slamming it to the wall violently while Medusa cried and yelled in pain, her dark blood flowing freely

She made sure she disfigured her face before letting her go and she slump to the floor weakly. Axion became terrified watching Phoenix almost crush Medusa.

This wasn’t right. Phoenix is not supposed to kill. She isn’t supposed to let her anger control her.

Phoenix drew out a sharp sword.

” I am going to slice you into tiny pieces for hurting the people I love the most! ” She hollered.

” Phoenix no! ” Axion tried stopping her as she raised the sword to strike Medusa. But to her surprise, Medusa started laughing hysterically making her halt.

” Do you think you can kill me, Phoenix? ” She asked amidst laughter.

” A Phoenix is never meant to kill… it is against their nature. Your heart is too soft to kill so can’t kill me! ” She snapped confidently.

Phoenix’s eyes wailed up in tears as she glared at Medusa with every hatred in her. All she wanted to do right now is stab her repeatedly till she pleads for mercy. She wanted to fucking end her ones and for all, she wanted to make her go through all the pains she caused Axion.

But still… she can’t. Medusa was right, she isn’t meant to kill. No matter what, she just can’t. Her hands hung in midair, trembling as she tried to hold back herself. Her tears finally rolled down and the sword fell off her hand. She gazed down, breaking down in tears.

But then, just when we thought everything has ended,

” Oh, Phoenix ” A voice that Phoenix recognized to be Medusa’s called and Phoenix looked up.

Her teary eyes widened in great horror at the scene before her. Standing in front of Axion who was now up his feet was Medusa, grinning evilly with her long sharp claws in view.

” Come save your mate if you can! ” Medusa made to dig her claws into Axion’s heart.

” Axion! ” Phoenix sprang up her feet, dashing toward them, and just when Medusa’s claws were about to touch Axion’s chest, in a flash of lights, Phoenix came in-between and the claws shoved into her chest instead, straight to her heart, and came out from her back.

Everywhere went dead silent as Medusa, Phoenix and Axion froze in shock. Tears flooded Phoenix’s eyes and tumbled down freely.

Medusa shoved her hand out with force making Phoenix stagger back to Axion who was still frozen in shock, his eyes almost plucking out.

Phoenix slumped to the floor but Axion was quick enough to catch her, lowering to the floor together with her.

” Ph… oenix…” His lips and body trembled as he stared at Phoenix who was in his arms, her eyes closed and her cloth stained with blood.

” No, no, no. Phoenix…. open your eyes. Phoenix talk to me, please… Phoenix!! ” He yelled, shaking her vigorously.

” Phoenix… please talk to me… you can’t leave me Phoenix, please open your eyes! ” He wailed, tapping her cheeks with his trembling hands.

No, no. This is a dream, right? His Phoenix can’t leave him, it’s not possible!

” Phoenix…” His tears rolled uncontrollably, dripping to Phoenix’s face.

Phoenix slowly opened her weak eyes and happiness scourge down Axion.

” Phoenix ” He called happily and seeing him, a weak smile drew up Phoenix’s lips.

” A… x… ion…” She groaned in pain.

” Phoenix, you’d be fine ok? I won’t let anything happen to you, I promise…”

” Axion…” Phoenix moaned, struggling to keep her eyes open.

” I promised you… that I’d protect you… with… my life, right? ” She chuckled weakly.

” Look… I did it. I… saved you from… Medusa ”

” No. You’re not supposed to, I’m not worth it ” Axion mumbled, his tears not ceasing to roll. Seeing Phoenix in this state was worse than any pain he has ever felt in his entire life. It was fucking killing him.

” Axion…” Axion shushed her immediately.

” Sush, save your strength Phoenix. Let me take you to the hospital. You can say whatever you want to say later, ok? ” He made to carry her up.

” No… don’t, Axion ” Phoenix stopped him.

” I… don’t think I can survive this ” She mumbled.

” Don’t say that Phoenix. You have to stay strong, for me, for us ”

” But… I can’t endure the pain, Axion ” Phoenix whimpered and Axion nodded a no, his tears rolling down the more.

” No Phoenix, I know you can do it. Please endure it for me. You can’t leave me just yet, please ”

Phoenix smiled faintly. Reaching out, she cupped Axion’s cheek, rubbing it with her thumb. She was trying hard to stay awake but was growing weaker every passing second.

Staring intently into his loving teary eyes, her smile broadened. All she ever wanted was for Axion to be happy and safe. She was ready to protect him with her all and yes, she did it.

All the memories they spent together came flashing into her mind. Their first night together. His kisses, touches, everything. She had loved him so much with everything in her and even till now, she never regretted it. She doesn’t know when and how she began loving him but it doesn’t matter, does it?

Tears flooded her eyes and rolled down.

” Axion…”

It’s so unfair that she had to fall in love with him. He doesn’t deserve her love, not even one bit.

That was the last thing Phoenix said before her eyes finally closed up and her hand dropped from Axion’s cheek lifelessly.

Axion’s eyes widened in horror when her hands dropped and shock ran through his veins.

” No, no, no, no, Phoenix…” He tapped her cheeks, nodding in disbelief.

” Phoenix talk to me… Phoenix! ”

He took her hand and it has already gone cold.

Cold shivers went down Axion and an excruciating pain stabbed his heart making him suddenly run out of breath.

” No Phoenix, don’t do this to me, please. I love you so much Phoenix, I can’t leave without you. I’m nothing without you, Phoenix, you can’t leave me, please ” Axion mewled, whimpering without control.

” You can’t leave me Phoenix. I haven’t told you how much I love you yet. I haven’t rectified all those times I treated you badly, all those hurtful words I said. I’m sorry… please give me a chance to love you, please…”

” Phoenix!!!…

His loud cry was enough to wake even the dead from their grave…
