TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

It was morning already and Axion slowly opened his eyes. He was feeling a little bit energized, unlike yesterday. Glancing bedside him and not seeing Phoenix by his side, his heart skipped a bit in fear and he almost jerked up but he was still too weak to sit up.

” Phoenix ” He called but didn’t get any answer. He was starting to get troubled and scared. Just as he was struggling to crouch up, the door opened, revealing Phoenix who had a tray in her hands.

Seeing her, Axion heaved in relief. For once he thought something happened to her. Sighting him awake,

” Good morning ” Phoenix greeted with a broad smile which Axion gladly returned as she walk up to the bed. She kept the tray on the table beside the bed and went over to help Axion sit up. Placing a peck on his forehead,

” I brought you breakfast ” She placed the tray on the bed and sat down.

” You woke up early today? ” Axion asked and she nodded.

” I wanted to make breakfast before you wake up ” What she said made Axion beam.

” I made you your favorite ” Phoenix muttered, opening the plate. While doing that, some of her hair fell to her face and she struggled to shrug it off. Axion reached out and helped her stick it gently to her ear making her look up.

” Why are you smiling sheepishly? ” She asked seeing the smile on his face.

” I don’t know. I couldn’t help it when I saw you ” Phoenix looked down immediately, trying to hide her blush. So he still has the strength to flirt despite being weak?

” I’ll feed you ” She mumbled and Axion opened his mouth with all pleasure.

Throughout the feeding, Axion didn’t take his eyes off Phoenix who was trying not to look at him. His gaze on her was making her cheeks redden. And seeing her blush made Axion chuckle.

Soon she was done feeding him and gave him the medicine Glinda brought. Actually, she came yesterday after her encounter with Medusa. And seeing Axion in that state made her feel guilty and apologize for sending Phoenix on such a dangerous mission.

She gave her the medicine which will help Axion’s wound heal faster and also told Phoenix about Medusa’s plan. Phoenix wanted to go confront Medusa but now wasn’t the right time. For now, she wants to make sure Axion is perfectly ok before she’d face those two.

After taking the medicines, Phoenix left for the bathroom and came back with a bowl of hot water and a towel, which she kept on the table.

It was time to clean him. She reached out and started unwrapping the bandages on Axion. His wounds were still fresh, so she made sure to do it carefully and consciously.

Axion groaned in pain as she removed the cotton which was used to cover the injuries.

” Sorry ” Phoenix will humble whenever Axion let out a groan. Her face was squeezed up as though she was the one in pain. At one time, Axion grunted more loudly making her stop abruptly and looked at him.

” Does it hurt a lot? ” She asked, brushing his face with her fingers and Axion pouted, nodding a yes.

” I’m sorry. I’d take it easy, ok? ” She assured and that made Axion giggle, a bit surprised. She sounded just like a mother looking after her sick child.

While Phoenix was cleaning him with the wet towel making sure that not a drop of water touches his wounds, Axion was busy admiring her. He couldn’t stop smiling watching how immersed, serious and deliberate she was. Truth be told she looked extra cute and her cuteness was causing Axion’s heart to flutter.

He cupped her cheek prompting her to look at him, her cute, round eyes peering into his innocently. Their faces were inches away that they both could feel each other’s breath. Axion’s eyes diverted to her slightly parted lips and the desire to taste them kicked in.

He has missed her soft lips which tasted like vanilla to him and all he wanted to do now was have them. Giving in to his desires, he leaned and claimed her lips in a gentle, sweet kiss which Phoenix reciprocated immediately. She could feel fireworks explode in her stomach. Even she too has missed his plump lips.

Pulling out slowly, Axion caressed her lips with his thumb, making Phoenix close her eyes at the sweet feeling.

” Phoenix ” Axion called and she hummed a yes.

” Look at me,” He said and she slowly opened her eyes, their gaze locking.

” There is something I want to tell you ” What Axion said made Phoenix’s heartbeat in nervousness and she unknowingly bit her lower lip.

” What is it? ” She managed to ask, hoping it wasn’t any bad news. Axion’s heart was thumping cause he was nervous too. He had wanted to tell her this for a long time but was too nervous and afraid to say it. He doesn’t know whether now was the right time and way to say it.

” Phoenix, I… I… ” He stammered, the words getting stuck in his throat.

” Yes,” Phoenix stared at him, anticipating whatever he wanted to say.

” I… I…

Corbin was on his rooftop, solitary and drinking. His eyes were red and his face gloom in anger as he gulped down the dry gin. He simply couldn’t stop thinking about all Phoenix told him yesterday.

How dare she insult him that way? Who does she think she is, calling him a pansy? Of course, he could easily fight Medusa, she is no match for him. At least, that’s what he thought.

Someone appeared before him but he immediately hissed, looking away, glancing it was Medusa who was scowling at him.

” You’re seriously drinking at this time? ”

” How could you let Phoenix easily take Axiom away. What about your revenge on him? ” She demanded.

” I don’t want to talk about it ” Corbin hissed plainly, gulping another shot. Medusa grabbed both the bottle of gin and the cup in his hand, tossing them away.

” Get up! ” She commanded Corbin who let out a snort.

” I said get the fuck up Corbin! ”

” And who the fuck are you to command me that way?! ” Corbin snapped and Medusa shut him up with a resounding harsh slap on his face.

” I am still your Master who brought to this world and raised you, don’t forget that! ” Medusa pointed out.

” Raised me? Or more like ruined my life? ” Corbin scoffed, standing.

” You inflict so much pain on me ever since I was born and you call that raising?! ” Medusa was surprised at his fireback.

” I did all that for your good Corbin! ”

” How can hurting your blood be for his own good, huh?! ” Corbin snapped her off.

” I did it to prepare you for the battle against Axion. I was getting you ready to fight him and claim what is yours, have you forgotten? ” Medusa tried justifying.

” Then why didn’t you inflict the same pain on Axion, to prepare him too? ” Corbin trailed her off with the question…

” Because he was your favorite right? No matter what I do, you still prefer him over me, don’t you? You still see me as a weakling and a nobody compared to him. You still love him more than you love me, don’t you? ” One could see the pain and hurt behind those questions.

What Corbin said angered Medusa and she shot him a deadly glare.

” Don’t you dare question my love for you!…”

” Or else what? What are you going to do, huh? Torture me again? ” Corbin huffed.

” Maybe I’d gladly remind you that if I am a weakling and a failure then you are times two the same as me because you gave birth to me so you are worse than me! ” Medusa’s anger reached its peak and her eyes flared up in dark purple.

” How dare you?! ” She roared and landed a harder slap across Corbin’s face which sent him flying and crouching to the floor.

Corbin’s anger flared up too and he scowled at Medusa with darkened purple eyes. He has heard enough of her nonsense! His finger extended to claws and he sprang up.

Growling in rage, he charged toward Medusa who only reached out and clutched his neck, her much longer and sharper claws gnawing into his neck before she hauled him and he bashed to the wall.

Groaning, he stood up and the wound in his neck healed instantly. Smirking, he made spikes appear and sent them all to Medusa who scoffed, halting them with only one hand. Snapping her finger, they all dropped to the floor much to Corbin’s shock.

” Don’t you dare… try to fight your Master, Corbin! ” Medusa hollered at him and grabbed the table before her, towing it toward Corbin who used his hands to shield himself from the table, making it break to pieces.

Reaching out, a sharp dagger appeared in his hand. Medusa’s eyes widened in great shock recognizing it to be Golden Dagger. How did he get a hold of that thing?

” After 27 years of causing me pain and misery, you still haven’t found me worthy enough to be your son ” Corbin’s eyes flared up as he vibrated in fury.

” If that’s the case… then I’m going to end you once and for all! ” He charged toward once her again, raising the dagger to slice her into two but Medusa disappeared making him strike the air instead.

His eyes broadened and they roam about for her.

” Show yourself, Medusa! ” He bawled. Medusa reappeared behind him and dug her claws into his back, yanking it out with force.

Corbin howled in pain almost lowering to the floor as blood oozed out but he was able to hold himself. He swirled around to stab Medusa with the dagger but she kicked it off his hand, kicking him hard on his chest which sent him scurrying and dropping to the floor.

The dagger on landing on the floor vanished. Corbin gritted in pain and was still trying to get back on his feet when Medusa using her power, lifted him high, almost close to the sky before hauling him back down.

Corbin at full speed smashed to the ground with his face making both his forehead, nose, and jaw break and blood gushed out. He yelled in distress not being able to get up.

But he wasn’t giving up yet, not until he kills Medusa who was smirking in satisfaction. Puffing some blood out, he managed to stand and surge toward Medusa. Gathering his whole power and force, he directed it to Medusa who used her force to wedge it. They both were now glaring at each other as their powers clashed.

Unfortunately, Medusa was stronger and her force knocked off Corbin and sent him flying off the rooftop. Just when he was about to fall off, he reached out and grabbed the edge of the room, panting weakly in panic.

” Corbin, Corbin, Corbin ” Medusa laughed, walking to him.

” What actually made you think that you could fight me? You seem to have forgotten that a slave can never be stronger than his Master ”

” Are you just going to watch me fall to my doom? Won’t you help me up? ” Corbin scoffed in disbelief.

” Of course, I’ll help you ” Medusa chuckled. She reached out and held his hand, pulling him up. Corbin beamed greatly but then it vanished almost immediately when,

” Just so I would kill you myself! ” Medusa snarled and before Corbin could fathom what she meant, she shoved her claws into his chest, directly to his heart, her hand coming out from his back.

Corbin froze in shock as his eyes bulged out. He slowly looked down at his chest before glaring at Medusa who grinned evilly. Tears wailed up his purple eyes and tumbled down freely.

” You… killed… me… mother…” He coughed out some blood.

“Bye-bye, my dear son ” Medusa shoved her hand out which was covered in Corbin’s blood. She let go of his hand and he fell off the high building.

She watched, laughing cruelly as Corbin landed at full speed, his head banging the ground. Seeing he was already covered in the pool of his own blood, Medusa laughed louder in victory.All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
