TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Glinda was pacing to and fro in her room in worry, her phone on her ear. She has been trying both Axion and Phoenix’s number and after countless ringing, none among them picked up. She was getting dead worried since it has been 24hrs since she last heard from them.

She had been waiting for Axion to call and inform her how their plan was going. When she couldn’t stay back any longer, she grabbed her purse and made to scurry out of her room when Medusa entered and stood by the door.

Glinda glared at her and she slammed the door close, startling her a bit. With a smirk on her face,

” And where are heading in such a hurry? ” Medusa asked. Glinda rolled her eyes, almost hissing at her question. But from what she knows, Medusa isn’t aware that she knows that she is a Dark Genie. Forcing a smile up her lips,

” To see Axion and Phoenix ” She replied sharply and made to go.

” Not so fast Glinda ” Medusa halted her making her groan slightly. Why won’t this woman fuck out of her way?

” You won’t find them because that fool of a wizard you sent Phoenix to, sold her out to Corbin who in turn used her to lure Axion to himself. And as we’re speaking now, he is giving Axion the best torture of his life ” Glinda’s eyes protruded in shock and fear at what Medusa just said.

How did she and Corbin find out about their plan?

Deciding to play dumb, she kept a straight face.

” Kelsey? Oh please spare me the pretense, Glinda ” She scoffed, closing the distance between them. With her purple eyes peering into Glinda’s,

” I know that you know that I am Medusa ” Glinda huffed directly to her face with an eye roll and folded arms. So she knows already?

” Good for you then. At least I don’t have to put on a pretense cause it’s literally killing me already ” Medusa let out a chortle at what she said.

” And I’d also remind you that someone else apart from me and Phoenix know and that is… Axion ” Glinda revealed and Medusa’s smirk vanished instantly replaced with widened eyes.

Truth be told, she never wanted Axion to know. At least it will make it easier to manipulate him against Corbin but now, her plan is ruined. Not wanting to give Glinda the upper hand, she laughed.

” Well… good for him then! ”

” What do you fucking want Medusa? Why are using Corbin against his brother and dragging the two kids into your stupid taste for power? ” Glinda demanded but only receive a death glare from Medusa.

” Stupid taste? Or do you mean fighting for what is rightfully mine? ”

” Those two bastards ruined the future I worked so hard to secure. If I hadn’t given birth to any of them, I wouldn’t have to drag what is supposed to be mine with them cause I’m the rightful queen! ” She snapped in anger.

” Then shift the fight to the right person you’re supposed to fight with. Battle with the King of all Dark Genie, defeat him, and claim the throne. Stop dragging the two brothers into it! ” Glinda snapped back.

” Why do that, when there is an easier way? Why stress my life when I can easily relax and watch the two brothers kill themselves? ” Medusa shrugged.

” And when that happens, I can take their souls and make myself more powerful, and then the King of all Dark Genie will have no other option than to make me Queen…

” Easy… peasy…

Axion can be seen seated on the bed in his room, striving to keep his weary eyes open to keep gazing at Phoenix who was before him, dressing his wounds.

After challenging Corbin, Phoenix went back and released Axion, taking him back home. She had already cleaned him thoroughly and was now cleaning the brutal injuries on his body.

Whenever Phoenix touches his wounds, Axion will seethe in pain making her heart ache even more. Staring at him with eyes filled with tears she ran her fingers on the wounds, smooching them gently.

” Does it hurt? ” She asked.

” A lot ” Axion whispered and her tears rolled down freely.

” I’m sorry ” She mumbled and Axion chuckled weakly. He managed to reach out to her face, ignoring the intense pain he was feeling, and used his thumb to wipe her tears.

” Haven’t I told you I hate seeing you cry? ” Phoenix nodded. She wanted to stop crying but the tears won’t just stop rolling, making her look down.

Axion held her jaw and tilt her head up, staring intently into her eyes. A tiny smile drew up his lips and he nodded in disapproval. Phoenix understood what he meant and immediately swallowed back her tears, cleaning them off.

Then gently and carefully, she cleaned and treated his wounds. She could have easily healed the injuries but they were just too severe that no matter what, it still needs to be treated for a long time before it heals.

All along, Axion didn’t take his eyes off Phoenix and the smile didn’t leave his face. Yeah, he was in so much agony but having Phoenix beside him and perfectly ok was all he desired. He just can’t imagine what he would have done if a drop of that acid landed on her.

If saving her means bringing himself pain… then he’d gladly do it. He is ever ready to endure it all for her.

After cleaning and applying the necessary medicine to the wound, it was time to dress it. Phoenix shifted nigher to Axion, making him bury his head on her chest, his hair falling freely on her shoulder while she wraps the bandage from his back.

Taking in her scent was all Axion needed to soothe and calm his brain and mind. Before he knew it, he was already fast asleep, praying and dreaming that she will remain by his side when he woke up.

Done bandaging his wounds, Phoenix made to pull out but stop abruptly seeing he was sleeping. Instead, she scourges closer, pulling him gently to rest more on her shoulder while she caresses and played with his hair, his rasp and slow breath fanning her neck. She knew he was extremely tired and needed to sleep.

Looking down and seeing how peaceful he was sleeping on her, a smile couldn’t help appearing on her lips. He looked so cute and that made her chuckle happily. Using her finger, she brushed some strands of his hair that fell to his face, away.

Imagining all he must have gone through, how he must gave been screaming and growling in pain and it’s all for her. She thought she was the only one who loved him but it turned out he loves her even more.

Tears wail up her eyes but she quickly fought them back. She has promised him not to cry and she will do just that.

” Axion…” She called.

” I want to promise you that from today onwards… I will no longer be that weak Phoenix you knew. I promise to fight and protect you even if it means doing so with my life…” Her tears failed her and rolled down.

” I won’t let anyone hurt you the way Corbin did, I won’t let you endure this sort of pain ever again. If anyone tries hurting you, be it Medusa or Corbin, I swear on my life that I’d forget that I am a Phoenix and skin whosoever it is alive ” Her eyes darkened in anger and rage as she clenched her fist and gritted her teeth.

” I am going to be strong… for us… for you especially and protect you from any dark force trying to harm you… I promise you, Axion… with my life…
