Chapter 873 Are You Deceiving Me?

Her tone was calm,but the smile on her face was completely gone. Her face had turned cold,showing how she was displeased by his action.

Relying on some alcohol, Kane continued to yell, “What do you think I am doing?Your cousin is going to have a funeral today. But you and your father don’t seem to care. Your father doesn’t even answer my calls these days. What exactly is he doing?Is he avoiding me?”

“Dad is not feeling well and needs to rest. If you want to ask something,wait for him to recover and come back here.”She paused while looking at him with a meaningful look. “However, if you really wanted to push your agenda then go on. Kane was taken aback because of what she said.

He was actually afraid of Ray. But because of Kelly, they were able to make Ray obedient which made him forgot his fear toward him. Now that Kelly was dead, he had to think carefully and wonder if he did something wrong. Why was he not answering his calls?

But the thought of Kelly made his heart ache,and the fear was covered with grief.

“Don’t scare me!I’m here today to visit your father. You said he’s sick.I am his brother-in-law so I want to know how he is doing.”He walked past Alaia and started climbing the stairs while calling Ray. “Ray,I

came to visit you. Are you feeling better,Ray?”

Seeing that he was about to go upstairs, Alaia suddenly panicked. She hurriedly ran to catch up and blocked his way. “Dad is not feeling well. Why can’t you understand that he doesn’t want any disturbance?He needs to rest. If you’re not going to listen, he will be angry. And you’re just going to worsen the situation!”

But I will never understand how you brought so many people in my house. Who are you trying to embarass?If it wasn’t for Dad not feeling well,do you think you could come in so easily?”

When her uncle wasn’t able to reply, she continued. “Also, if I’m really lying to you,Dad will always come back. And knowing what you did today,I wonder what he will going to do to you when he finds out.”

Those words made Kane tremble. Ray’s cold stare flashed in his mind which made him felt sobber as chill ran down his spine.

He took a step back but still hesitated to back down. He looked at her suspiciously. “Is your father really sick?Why was he sick?What’s the cause of it?”

Pursing her lower lip,Alaia said,”He’s just overworked. His body is a little weak and he needs to rest.”

“Really?”Kane continued to ask, “Have you been to the hospital to see a doctor?Which hospital did you go to?Is it reliable?Otherwise, let’s go to another hospital to make him feel better the soonest.”

Seeing that he was about to go upstairs again, Alaia hurriedly said, “It’s the doctor Dad often sees.She is very reliable,Uncle. Don’t forget that Dad has a high status.He doesn’t just go to any hospital.”
