Alexander used his index finger to poke her index finger that she was pointing at his chest, Amelia looked at her index finger before looking at Alexander again.

“We have nothing to do with each other anyways so why stress yourself?” Alexander said lazily and poked her forehead “Dummy!!”

Alexander walked past her as a profound smile emerged on his lips.

“Wait seriously??” Amelia turned to run to the elevator before the door closed.

“Don’t let it stress you, we have something to do with each other, we’re a couple” Alexander said seriously and Amelia scoffed loudly which made Alexander wrinkle his face.

“What’s with the snorting?? Do you intend to go marry another man??” Alexander asked immediately displeased.

“Shut up, not that, after six months, we’re done and I’m surely gonna get married, I’m not a wood you know,” Amelia said not noticing Alexander’s ghastly expression.

“Getting married my foot” Alexander muttered and Amelia looked at him.

“Did you say something??” Amelia asked as she had heard a mumble.

Alexander didn’t say a word but his angry expression remained and just then the elevator opened and they both walked out.

As they walked out, George immediately came from his office and when he saw Alexander, he walked towards them in hurried strides, Amelia excused Herself and walked away first for them to discuss their matters.

Alexander went to George’s office to discuss while Amelia directly went to Alexander’s office, he had given her the keys earlier when he followed George.

“Alexander, do you still remember that Mr Whacker’s Masquerade ball will be held this evening??” George asked and Alexander hummed

“Why did you accept to go?? He wants you to bring a female partner” George said

“And why are you worried on my behalf?? I’m not worried” Alexander said without further ado.

George gazed at him for a while with the urge to punch him “Even if you’re fine, can you quarantine Ash’s safety??”

Alexander immediately frowned as he looked at George “And what’s my deal with Ash??”

“Ehh??” George suddenly look as if he just swallowed shit as he was confused.

“Who’s gonna be your partner for the ball if not Ash??” George asked “You both have always attended events like this together and besides she’s more exposed, I got information that Knight would be there too and with his puppet, Grey.”

Alexander scoffed a bit, it was true that he had always taken ash to such events as his partner after he and Hilary broke up but now:

” I’m taking Amelia with me, I want her to know how the system works, I want her to understand my world,” Alexander said as he narrowed his eyes “In case things turn out bad, I want her to be aware of a knight so she won’t find him unfamiliar when he comes to her” Alexander added and thought that it was also part of the contract.

Amelia is already a smart girl and can take in the details easily, no wonder his father bought her of all girls from the other wealthy men.
