I don’t like the smell of cigarettes
Ash felt as if something had fallen on her head as her head began to ache.
“You-you..”
Alexander thought that the news of his marriage would probably shock anyone who knew him, so he thought Ash was not excluded
“Yeah, it just happened. I didn’t tell you about it sooner.. sorry” Alexander said softly
Ash’s eyes constricted “How can you get married?? Why?”
Alexander frowned a bit at her question but felt that it was said out of shock “Long story, okay I have to go now” Alexander said and hung up.
All the colors on Ash’s face drained as her head kept banging.
He got married??
To who?? Who’s she??
When?? where?? How??!!!
Lots of question marks filled Ash’s head as she gripped her phone so tight that it made a creaky sound
“Argh” Ash threw her phone across the room in fury but so lucky for the phone, it landed on the couch before it hit the ground.
“It can’t be, not anymore stepped down for Hilary, I’m not going to back out this time, Never!” Ash was in turmoil as she went to search for her phone again and saw it on the couch.
She took the phone and dialed George’s phone number, if she was to ask Liam, that would be a bad idea as she would guess Liam’s reaction.
Don’t ask me!
That would be Liam’s words so she decided to call George, at least she and George were closer amongst the others.
Soon the call went through and George’s voice came from the other side “Hey”
“Hey George, it’s being long” Ash tried to maintain a neutral tone as she held her waist.
“Yeah, you left us all” George joked as he entered his living room and met an empty room, his wife had gone for a walk around the neighborhood with some guards.
“Well I’m back in the country you see, I’ll be officially starting work at Ron’s headquarter and we’ll be work buddies again,” Ash said slowly
“Wow congratulations on that, I’ll treat you to a meal at the office, when are you resuming work??”
“Umm, tomorrow morning” Ash replied and sat on the edge of her bed.
“Oh okay..”
“Is there something you wanna tell me??” Ash decided to test the water and asked indirectly.
George didn’t have anything more to say so he replied in a negative “Nah”
“Are you sure??”
George frowned a bit “What’s with the weird questioning, if you have anything to say, just spill it already” George said, he wasn’t that kid Ash used to play with, they were friends but now, he was married and shouldn’t be wasting his time on this shits.
Ash immediately got the message and cleared her throat “I just found out that Alexander got married and nobody cared to tell me about it, that’s too unfair!” Ash said lazily not giving any expression
George immediately understood and became guilty “So sorry about that, it happened so quick that I actually forgot, I’m sorry ”
“Why’s everybody saying it just happened so quickly??” Ash asked with a frown
George didn’t hide anything from Ash cause they were all friends so he told her the situation.
“Oh so it’s just an arranged marriage, she was sold to Alex?? Wow,” Ash said meaningfully as she smiled a bit. At least there’s no love and She still has the chance to Be with Alex in the future.
“Yeah such a pitiful girl, but well I won’t call her pitiful as she’s so smart and screwed, I like her personality,” George said after a while with an approving look.
Ash had the urge to snort, she’s just a girl that was sold to a man, therefore she doesn’t hold a candle to her level, she can’t compare to her that was well educated.
“Uh, yeah that’s nice” Ash laughed a bit in a hint of mockery.
After talking for a while, George disconnected the call and Ash dropped the phone on the bed with a profound smile
“Guess I was just worried for nothing! Ah sold?? Alexander won’t even pay her much attention, he likes classic women from wealthy families, she’s not even an opponent” Ash said to herself before breaking into a loud and sinister laugh.

When it was time for dinner, Mrs. Gale went to call Alexander to come down for dinner, alexander immediately walked out and passed through Amelia’s room.
He stopped before walking towards the door and opened it, Amelia was still asleep so he entered the room and closed the door behind him.
He looked at her for a while and checked her temperature by placing the back of his hand on her forehead.
She was fine as the doctor said.
He looked at her more and studied her face.
Her face was so small with plump lips so pink, and a sharp and small edgy nose.
She was so slim and bony.
Alexander frowned at that, she had to eat more.
Just then, Amelia’s eyes suddenly opened catching Alexander off guard that he took a step back.
“What’s the problem, why’re you here??” Amelia asked as she stretched her arms that was aching her a bit.

“Oh and why do you care anyway??” Amelia asked and got off the bed.
Alexander raised a brow at her “Cause I don’t want a corpse in my house”
Amelia scoffed at him without saying anything.
Alexander looked at her for a while before turning to the door and said “Dinner is served, come downstairs to eat” With that said, he walked out of the room.
Amelia went to wash her face before going down, she saw alexander already at the dining hall, seated on a chair.
Amelia walked towards him and saw that he had a pack of cigarettes in his hand.
She didn’t think much of it and sat down, she looked up again and saw that Alexander took out a cigarette from the pack placed it in his mouth, and brought a lighter to light it up.
Amelia immediately frowned and got up from her chair and directly took the cigarette from his mouth and broke it in two before going to dump it in the recycle bin close by.
Alexander was stunned as he watched her movements, soon she sat back down again and gave Alexander a disapproving look.
“Don’t ever smoke again ’cause it’s not good for your health and I don’t like the smell of cigarettes” Amelia chided him like a small boy.
