For some reason, Jake spiraled out of control, triggered by Rachel’s kiss. The fact that bothered him the most was he loved that feeling.

The next morning, Millie was woken up from her sleep when Rachel freaked out and shrieked by her side.

Millie groggily opened her eyes and glanced at her friend before turning on her side and going back to sleep.

Rachel’s phone was ringing again. It was a call from her manager, Laura.

She frantically mumbled, “I’m dead meat.”

Millie finally sat up in bed. What was wrong? She checked Rachel’s phone and gasped when she saw the headline.

“A–List Actress and CEO in Hot New Scandal! Spotted Heading Back to Her Place and Hung Out All Night!” Rachel sat on the bed with a vacant look. “Mills, what did I do last night?”

Millie also wanted an answer to that question. It seemed that the media had it. They captured photos of Rachel and Jake passionately making out at the restroom entrance.

Millie was shocked to find out about it. It made sense why she returned to Rachel practically hanging on Jake.

“Jake, you bastard! You’re an animal,” she silently seethed.

Laura had been spamming Rachel’s number. Rachel asked wistfully, “Did I really kiss Jake Webson last night?”

Millie could not offer a confirmation, but the media had photos as proof. Rachel did kiss Jake.

Wait a minute! Could Rachel be the woman who left the hickey on his neck?

Laura called again. For the first time in Rachel’s life, she was overcome by panic.

Millie reminded her, “Just pick up. You can’t hide forever.”

Rachel lowered her head and answered the call. Laura thundered, “Rachel Shaw, get your ass to the company right now!”

Pursing her lips, Rachel stole a look out of the window. She too would like to meet Laura at the company, but it was physically impossible to do so.

She replied awkwardly, “Laura, I can’t get out. My house is surrounded by reporters.”

“You-” Laura was jumping in anger. “I shouldn’t have approved your day off yesterday!”

Before this, Millie and Rachel had never gotten into trouble when they had some fun. What exactly happened last night?

“You’d better invite Mr. Webson. Let’s have a meeting Sighing, Laura added, “We need to discuss if we

are denying or confirming the rumors.”

Rachel’s head shot up. “What do you mean by ‘confirming the rumors‘?”

Laura explained, “It means confirming your relationship.”

Rachel seemed very repulsed by the thought. “Oh, I would rather deny the rumors.”

“You don’t have the final say. We need to consult Mr. Webson on this.” Laura chided her, “It wouldn’t have been so complicated if the guy was a nobody. But he’s Jake Webson…”

Laura was confused as to how to direct her anger. “Rachel, you’re a lucky woman. No, Jake is the lucky

one…”

Jake and Rachel were good for each other. The only problem was that they showed no hint of interest in each other. Why did they get caught kissing?

Millie saw news of Jake and Rachel everywhere on Twitter. Fortunately, their supporters and fans mostly expressed their well wishes. There was no fan war.

One user wrote: “Ooh, Jake Webson is hot! I approve of their relationship.”

Another chimed in, “I watched the video of them kissing! Hot damn! TV shows should copy that kiss scene!”

Someone else wrote, “I nearly lost it when Rachel kissed him on the neck. I probably replayed it 100 times.

“So, are they together? When was that? The news came out of nowhere.”

Millie joked, “Everyone seems to be sending well wishes to you and Jake.” “Blegh!” Rachel immediately made a f
