User “A” commented, “He wasn’t saving Ms. Caldwell. Clearly, he was saving his wife.”
User “B” wrote, “No, he was attempting to rescue his ex–wife. Mr. Greer still possesses a conscience. At least he boldly ventured to save her.”
User “C” asked, “Am I the only one who believes he has feelings for Ms. Caldwell?”
User “A” responded to User “C“, “That’s impossible. If he loves her, he wouldn’t abandon Ms. Caldwell for Joanna.”
User “C” responded to User “A“, “Feelings can be quite unpredictable. Sometimes, we may not feel a strong connection with someone at first, only to realize our true feelings after parting ways.
“This seems to be a common experience for many. It’s as if we become accustomed to the presence of the person and fail to appreciate them properly, only realizing our love for them once they’re gone.”
After browsing for a while, Millie set her phone down. She put on a jacket and went to the nurse station across from her ward.
Upon her arrival, the nurse exclaimed, “Dr. Caldwell, you’re awake!”
Millie nodded. Then, she asked with a smile, “Which ward is Winston in?”
The nurse replied excitedly, “Over there. He’s in 6023. Dr. Caldwell, you’re so lucky. Mr. Greer is willing to risk his life to save you.”
Millie paused for a moment after hearing her words. A flicker of bitterness appeared in her eyes.
After she left, a few nurses in the back grumbled, “Oh dear. You shouldn’t have said that. Winston has recently divorced Dr. Caldwell. The one Winston truly loves is Joanna.”
The young nurses exchanged glances before falling silent.
Millie went to Winston’s ward and overheard someone say, “Win, don’t put yourself in danger again. I’m worried about you. Is it worth risking your life to save Millie?”
She stood in front of the ward, hesitating whether to enter. Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded behind her. “Millie?”
She turned and saw that it was Gloria. She called out softly, “Mom.”
Gloria smiled. “Are you okay?”
Millie felt a little apologetic. “I’m sorry, Mom. Winston got hurt because of me.”
When Gloria heard this, she immediately scoffed. “It’s his duty to save you. Isn’t that what he should do?” She then asked, “Since you’re already here, why don’t you go inside and visit him?”
Millie wanted to decline. Then she heard Joanna ask, “Win, can I stay here and take care of you tonight?” Gloria was upset when she heard this. She couldn’t understand why this bitch was here. She pushed open the door and rushed in. Millie tried to stop her but ended up being pulled in by Gloria. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Upon entering the ward, they found Joanna sitting by the bed. She was holding Winston’s arm. Winston appeared extremely pale, lying on the bed, absorbed in his phone. He seemed utterly occupied.
Upon seeing Gloria and Millie approaching, Joanna promptly stood up. Winston also set down his phone and looked at Millie. He asked hoarsely, “Are you okay?”
Millie nodded, glancing at his bandaged arm. Despite his own condition, he still asked her if she was alright. It was clear that Winston had sustained more severe injuries in comparison.
Gloria stared at Joanna and said icily, “Ms. Lowell, it’s quite late now. It’s inappropriate for a woman like you to be here, isn’t it?”
Joanna felt aggrieved. “Mrs. Greer, Win is injured. Please let me take care of him.”
“He has a mother and family. Why does he need an outsider like you to accompany him? Ms. Lowell, please leave!” Gloria pointed to the door and signaled for her to leave.
