“Have you seen the news? Isabelle is going crazy, you need to stop her!” Ann burst into Roberto’s office, ranting.

“What do you want here? I ordered you to leave this place!” Roberto thundered and Ann burst into laughter.

“Cut me some slacks, do you expect me to leave after working relentlessly? I’m going to finish what I started…” Ann was interrupted with a knock and Roberto’s new secretary walked inside.

“Sir, this is from the magistrate court” He explained and Roberto snatched the paper, reading it immediately.

The paper fell out of his hands and he buried his hands in his hair, sighing sadly.

“Do you need anything sir?”

“No, just leave” He replied.

“This is total madness! How would she sue us to court? Does she know the amount she has because of the embezzled money? She’s an ungrateful daughter, you did all your best so she could live the life of a princess yet she wants to throw all that away” Ann ranted.

“Get out! What the hell do you want!” Roberto thundered.

“I want my position back? You can’t ditch me, I’ve worked too hard, we built all these together..” Ann replied, pointing around and Roberto slapped her furiously, she staggered, regained her balance and held her stinging cheek.

“You killed my wife! You should be lucky I’m not pressing charges or planning to kill you too”

“If you press charges, you know we would be going down the drain together, kill me? You wanna kill me because I saved your life? You’re such an ingrate, what if you died and your wife got married to Mario? Think about that too, I did what I had to do because of you and my kids! All because I love you!” She flinging the paper at him.

“You had another option, telling me everything! You could have saved both of us but you chose to kill her because of your stupid, jealous feelings!” Roberto thundered.

“So saving your life is a mistake now huh? It wasn’t a mistake back then though? You’re scum and Isabelle, she hasn’t seen the last of me! Is she happy now that she has turned everyone against me? I’ll kill her with my bare hands” Ann promised.

“Touch her and you’ll have Annabella’s life to pay for it” Roberto threatened.

“Shut up you weakling! Do you think I’ll sit back and watch you hurt my kids? If anything, I mean the slightest of pain should get to them, you’ll make history as the only president to get butchered to death” She vowed and strutted out.

“Damn” He muttered, scratching his hair, and his secretary entered, holding the phone.

“Sir, the press wants to hold an interview with you, you have several calls from a few ministers, Mario is on the line should I answer?”

“Hand over the phone, cancel all my schedule and tell them I do not want to be disturbed, do not answer any media house” He replied and collected the phone.

“What do you want?” Roberto demanded.

“Not a polite way to greet a friend but I’m fine thanks for asking… I just saw Isabelle’s video, she’s such a patriot, suing her own family… I was very impressed with her performance until I got a court notice on my desk. Now tell that little brat of yours that if she doesn’t want her body parts to be distributed to all the states, she should get my name off the case, is that clear?” Mario demanded and Roberto burst into laughter.

“All I did was plan your death, it was your stupid slut who destroyed everything… Goodluck getting your ass shipped to jail because I’m outta here already” Mario cackled, ending the call and Roberto threw the phone on the wall angrily.

“Get my doctor, if anybody inquires about me, tell them I’m sick, prepare the plane, I’m heading to Mexico” He ordered.

Isabelle’s POV

“Darrell just found some dirt on Mario, luckily we still have a little evidence, it’ll get us a search warrant and with that they can burst everywhere” Alessandro explained and I nodded, staring at his lips.

Gosh! How much I’ve missed those lips, been long we kissed, touched each other or had fun.

“Are you listening? He demanded, watching me and I burst into laughter.

“I was carried away by your sexiness, it’s not everyday you see a sexy man” I replied.

“Are you saying I’m sexy only today? Let’s get back to business… Mario is out of the country and it seems like your dad wants to do the same. Annabella and Andrew are with Ann and Darrell is trying to find her”

“They think they can escape karma, I feel sorry for Annabella, she didn’t grow up with a real family and now I’m about to send her parents to jail… am I a bad person?” I demanded, feeling guilty.

“No babe, you’re one of the most amazing and greatest people I’ve seen, most people who have been in your shoes would make wrong decisions but you’re strong, resilient and truthful… You want justice even at the cost of your own happiness… I feel lucky to have you I’m my life, I admire your bravery a lot and I’m sure Annabella would be happy to have you as her sister, you are like a role model to her” Alessandro’s words melted my heart and I smiled, speeding my arms as I hugged him, sobbing gently.

“Stop it, your tears are precious and shouldn’t be wasted” He teased.

“Have you talked to Diamond? Is everybody okay?”

“Yeah, everybody is fine, mom even wants to visit but I insisted that she did after the court case or election”

“I hope the case won’t get postponed too much, delay can cause damages. How would our life start? Where should we start it? What work are we gonna do?” I requested, my head in his laps and he brushed my hair.

These questions bothered my mind, I wondered if my acting career was still in place and if I would have to start hiding.

“Babe, you don’t have to worry about that, we could relocate to a new country, do a little bit of surgery and start living our lives as normal people… I could get a job as a clerk, you could work as a secretary or teacher, we would work something out”

“But… it can’t be like before, the earnings would reduce drastically and we need money… I’ll be the one in charge of Annabella and Andrew, I can’t let them desert at a time like this..”

“I know you can’t babe, I’ll work hard and make enough money for us, you could continue your acting career though you’ll be exposed to the public, anything you want is fine by me” He confessed and I kissed his lips.

“I’m the luckiest woman alive because of you, thank you so much… I love you”

“I love you more babe”

“So if we’re considering changing our identities, what would our names be?”

“You could be Clara and I’ll be James… We’ll live in a house with a picket fence, have a job that we could walk to, live in a small community where there would be lots of feasts and get-togethers. We could even…” He relished joyously and I burst into laughter.

“Slow down, how about we continue living this way then spend the holidays with family and friends? We would have a very large house filled with kids running around and trying to drive us nuts”

“I like that, We could have a puppy and rabbit, a big garden and an apple tree, I can’t wait to start our family” He confessed and I hugged him.

“Me too my love” I was thrilled at the idea of starting up a family with him, he would be a perfect dad no doubt about that.

Lettice walked inside, muttering some words to herself and rolling her eyes.

“What’s got my manager talking to herself?” I teased and she sighed, slumping on the chair.

“Gosh! I’m so tired, the company is in a mess, they’re on my neck, demanding for you and Brianna… Brianna is working by herself, I hope she doesn’t collapse…”

“They want news about you, I’ve explained to them a thousand times that you’re busy with personal matters and they still don’t get it… Lilian is getting lots of roles and she has become very annoying, she’s always throwing shades around. Gosh! I wish I could just take a break from everything” She explained tiredly.

“Why not take a break?”

“I can’t, it’s not time for my vacation and I’ve been behind lately so I’ve got to do lots of work”

“Oh please, do you want to burn yourself out, I’m sure they can see the great job you’re doing… take a sudden break, just finish up with your artist then vanish, the company would have no other option when you return” I advised and she nodded thoughtfully.

“Nice, I like that idea but I’ll pass… 8 hours of sleep and lots of milk would do the job, Brianna just got her first deal, are you aware?”

“Yeah, I feel happy for her, she’s doing great… I kinda miss acting” I let out.

“It’s a matter of time, you’ll be back and that time, you’ll be bigger and better, once all these are over… your fans are eager for you to return, your comeback would be hectic since we have to find a perfect movie”

“I’m sure you’ll find the best,” I replied smiling.
