Chapter 188
Trevor turned around and stood in front of Bennett and Jessica, shielding them from all the hostile gazes. Jessica felt conflicted when she raised her head and saw the man in front of her.
I'm supposed to stay away from him, but why do I end up returning to his side after all this time? she thought. "You got guts, you little brat!"
Old Mr. Gulliford was so angry that he tapped on the ground with his cane. Then, he got up and left.
Leah did not dare to say anything. After the housekeeper helped her to her feet, she turned around and left.
Trevor turned around and sat down beside Jessica.
Then, he smiled gently and said, "It's all right. I'm here."
"I just don't want Bennett to get hurt," Jessica said as she lowered her head.
She did not dare to look at his smile because she was
afraid that she would fall for him again.
Trevor nodded and said, "I know. I know."
He could not help but feel sad when he saw her lowering her head.
Is she still avoiding me? he wondered.
"Can I sleep with Ms. Jackson tonight?" Bennett asked as he lay in Jessica's arms.
He looked a lot like Faye then.
Jessica nodded and said, "All right."
Trevor's heart clenched when he saw that, so he immediately chimed in, "Can I sleep together too?"
Jessica and Bennett raised their heads and stared at him after he said that.
"Why don't you both sleep together? I can go sleep in my own room," Bennett said softly.
It'll be much better if Mom sleeps with Dad instead of me. Their relationship may improve, and who knows, they may even give me a little sister! It would be great if she is as cute and pretty as Faye! he thought.
"Bennett, you are such a good boy."
Trevor was smiling shamelessly as he stroked Bennett's head with his long and slender fingers.
"Forget it. I'll steep with Bennett. Mr. Gulliford, we have an agreement. You're my superior, and I'm your subordinate. I promised to stay for ten days only because I don't agree with Old Mr. Gulliford's opinion of me, Jessica said.
Then, her eyes grew dark, and her tone became solemn. "If you don't think you can maintain the relationship, I shall leave the Gulliford residence right now," she warned. Trevor had a pleading look on his face as he quickly nodded and grabbed her arm. "Of course I can do that! Jessica, please don't leave. I shall go along with everything you say." Bennett narrowed his eyes and felt a little disgusted when he saw that.
"What is Dad doing? Where is his pride as a man? Why is he acting like a woman?" he thought.
There was a hint of annoyance in Jessica's eyes as she said, "Let go of me."
"All right."
Trevor obeyed and put his hands behind his back.
Then, he suggested, "Do you want to play some snooker?"Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
"L..."
Jessica was tempted because she loved to play snooker. She was actually obsessed with it like the young people who were obsessed with online games.
She had always loved the angles
between the balls, the amount of force, and the spin method. Every time she managed to get the ball into the pocket, it was as if she had solved a difficult problem.
"Let's go. We can do other things if you're afraid of losing. After all, I'm quite skillful, so you don't have a great chance at winning anyway."
There was a hint of smugness in Trevor's words.
After all, he was trying to provoke her. He knew Jessica loved to play snooker, and she was hesitating. "She will surely take the bait once I provoke her again," he thought. Trevor knew Jessica well enough to know that she was very serious when it came to snooker.
Jessica stood up, patted her clothes, and said smugly, "I don't think you even know how to play snooker yet when I became the number one player in another city abroad."
