Chapter 187
Jessica sat dazedly in her room, but upon seeing Bennett's forehead, she felt her heart skip a beat.
"Bennett, why is your forehead wounded?"
Bennett knew she was his mother, so he did not lie and told her how Leah had bullied him.
"Ms. Lockett, I don't want Daddy to worry because of me as he hasn't recovered yet. Can you not tell him?"
Bennett was a genuinely filial and obedient child.
"All right," Jessica replied, drawing him into his arms.
Bennett did not resist her touch.
Just then, the door crashed open, and Leah walked in. Fury boiled up in her when she saw the scene inside the room.
"Bennett is actually hugging that woman! Oh my gosh! I thought he hated being intimate with others. No matter how hard I tried to get on his good side, he still refused to get close to me. That woman has just come, yet she bribed him already?" she thought in shock. "Bennett, stop hugging her!" Leah ordered angrily, striding in with her heels.
"Who knows whetherthis woman of unknown origin is sick with something."
She grabbed Bennett's hands with her long fingers to drag him away, but Bennett shoved her away.
"Let go of me! You are a woman of unknown origin! Someone as evil as you is not worthy enough to marry my dad!" Bennett yelled furiously and stared at her with animosity.
""What a disobedient child."
Leah's voice suddenly turned sinister as she prepared to stab Bennett's eyes with her fingers.
However, before she could touch him, a hand gripped her wrist tightly.
"When I'm here, don't you dare bully this child," Jessica announced with an angry glint in her eye and slightly knitted her brows together.
With a twist of her hand, Jessica dislocated Leah's other wrist with a crack.
"Ah!" Leah screamed in pain.
Her hand had not recovered yet, and now, her other hand was injured too.
What a crazy woman! Leah screamed internally.
Her shrieks attracted everyone's attention.
Coincidentally, Trevor and Maximilian were on the second floor, so they went over, including Gabriel and several servants.
"What happened?"
Trevor immediately dashed to Jessica to check whether she was wounded.
"Trevor, Bennett wanted to talk to me, so she got angry. Look at my wrist! It's broken," Leah said coyly with a pitiful and innocent look on her face. "Nonsense! How dare you hurt her at my home!" Maximilian roared, his face twisted with anger.
As he disliked Jessica, he naturally would not stand on her side.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
"That's not true! I hate Ms. Leah, so I didn't want to go to her just now Thus, she tried to stab my eyes with her fingers. Ms. Lockett wanted to save me, so she hurt Ms. Leah."
Bennett spoke up, as he would not want anyone to wrong his mother.
"How dare you hurt Bennett!"
Upon hearing those words, Trevor turned to glare at Leah and clenched his fingers.
"Not only that. Bennett told me that Leah caused the wound on his forehead." Jessica also raised her
head to stare at Leah. The couple both wished to protect Bennett.
"Bitch!"
Infuriated, Trevor stepped forward to Leah and slapped her.
This was the second time he had hit a woman. The first time was for his wife's sake, while the second time was for his son's sake. "Trevor Gulliford!"
Seeing Leah, who had collapsed on the floor from the blow, Maximilian immediately frowned.
"What nonsense! I was the one who asked Leah to come here. Trevor shouldn't have slapped her out of respect for me!" Maximilian thought furiously.
"Grandpa, if someone dares to hurt
Bennett and Jessica, don't blame me for being cruel. Leah, I will show you mercy today for Grandpa's sake.
I dare you to try hurting them again!"
